Mendes Family: Great resource for the do-it-yourselfer! Many choices: belting, garment and upholstery leathers along with the tools and classes needed for most projects. I found a half hide for a headliner of my son’s old chevy pick up. The material was more expensive than vinyl the local upholstery shop wanted to use, but by doing it myself, the headliner is leather, looks trick and was half the cost the shop would have charged for labor alone. Make sure to visit Tandy leather and give them your business!
Alex H: - as of the time of writing, their phone system gives the wrong address. Once inside, there was a pretty poor selection of beginner tools

At times I feel like I can't leave. If there's a class going on I sit and watch a bit and engage with people about what they are doing. It's a very friendly environment.

Drew Dirschell: Exceptional service. Worth the trip from Oakland. Staff is competent, approachable, helpful, and kind. Store is well organized and has a great deal of inventory.For example, I asked about best practices for cutting split hide. Staff showed me the options for leather scissors, then took me to the cutting table and encouraged me to try out each type of scissor. Staff was also able to immediately identify a snap on sight, and took me right to the snap in the store. I’m looking forward to returning.

Winnie Ybarra: in several months, maybe years? I wore it out without realizing what had happened. It was terrible - sticky, melted, blue colored glazing was all over the dust bag and over my clothes and car seat. All of the seams and handles were affected.This was a special bag and I was devastated. I contacted the customer service option on their app and was told they could only fix some of the bag and for a relatively large fee. I gave up on the bag and wasn’t sure if I should literally throw it away.I decided a while later to bring it in to this store to get an opinion in person before throwing it away. Masi came to the rescue and within seconds he identified the issue, knew it was a known faulty glaze from the specific year of production. He promised it was an easy fix but also offered store credit. Because this bag is discontinued and I also love it, I opted for the repair not having the highest hopes despite his optimism.I just picked up the bag faster than expected and it looks great!I am so appreciative of Masi’s help and feel grateful that I visited his store for assistance. Masi is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and clearly sets the standard for his team.

I was definitely taken aback by the high costs at other places which had skyrocketed through the years.I greatly appreciated the affordability of this store's pricing thanks to management. The service has always been friendly, attentive, and speedy, thanks to the caring owners who prioritize craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. They are very honest about what needs to be done with no pressure ever on anything additional.They do ask for a 50% deposit, but I've found it more convenient to pay upfront, and my shoes are usually ready within a few days. The shop is conveniently located in the Almaden area within a nice shopping plaza, offering ample parking options at any time of the day.I cherish my shoes, especially the nice ones they've managed to salvage and restore, often returning them looking almost brand new. I'm thrilled and grateful for their work, as it allows me to keep beloved shoes that have brought me joy, received compliments, and remained comfortable over the years. Thanks to their craftsmanship, I don't have to part with these cherished possessions so I value their service immensely.

Harminder Singh Gill: Called this shop for fixing zipper for my winter jacket. Drove to the shop, she explained that if this is not forcibly opened and was not damaged is a good sign, but if need to be replaced the zipping mechanism cost would be $24. But in the mean time she placed the jacket on her work station and tried to move it with patience and she was able to move it to all the way to bottom to close it and see if it worked fine. She did not charge any. I was in and out in less than five minutes. Kudos to this shop.
