Alejandro Ocampo: Kasa de Franko Spanish School is an incredible program to learn and improve your Spanish skills. I did not learn Spanish as a child, but instead began learning as a young adult. I was often struggling with my confidence when speaking to Spanish-speakers, as I was embarrassed when communicating incorrectly. This is where Kasa de Franko Spanish School came in and helped tremendously. I have been working with Juan and the Learn Spanish Speaking program. Juan is an amazing instructor and always makes me feel comfortable as I struggle and learn with my Spanish-speaking skills. Juan takes his time and never has a problem repeating what he says when I am unable to understand. I have never once felt uncomfortable and embarrassed when speaking with Juan, and this in turn has helped boost my confidence when speaking to fluent Spanish-speakers. I highly recommend Kasa de Franko Spanish School, especially if you are struggling with your confidence in speaking Spanish!
Sindu Menon: Positive Communication, Quality, Professionalism, Value
Dulce Lopez: My 9 year old daughter has been attending online classes for the past few months and I've seen such a significant growth in her spanish vocabulary and in her confidence as well. I love that the classes are challenging enough but fun and engaging with extra homework assignments being a plus. They are very professional, thoughtful, flexible, and very fun and engaging.
Marco Palmieri: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueIt is a school of incomparable value… I have been studying with them for a year and my level of Spanish is improving every day. The learning process is cultural and fun. Thanks to Franko, Pedro and Francis who are now like friends to me
Junko Suzuki: I and my husband have been taking semi-private classes for almost a year and we really enjoy the lessons! Prof. Franko keeps a good balance between conversation and grammar during the class and homework and review of the previous lesson help us to improve our Spanish. Also, his class covers culture and history of Latin America and I really enjoy it. I recommend semi-private lessons if you have family or friend to take the class with. You can reschedule or skip the lesson as needed and you will have a lot of chance to speak Spanish during the class!
Eleanor Tullis: My 6 year old is doing virtual Spanish classes with Kasa De Frank. I highly recommend it. Her teacher goes above and beyond to make it fun and engaging. He adds a lot of variety a huge amount of energy and plenty of songs to keep her learning and having fun!Positive Communication …
Leon Starr: I am completing 10 hours of private online sessions with Franko next week and am extremely pleased with the quality of the lessons. Franko is an experienced teacher who has rapidly adapted to my level of language acquisition. He has been quick to spot trouble areas in my pronunciation and work with me to correct them. While the provided instructional materials are helpful, they are not overly constraining. So if I want to push harder on past tense, for example, or particular verbs or phrases, he has been happy to accommodate with additional helpful notes and exercises. I'm looking forward to signing up for another 10!
Na Kong: I cannot say enough good words about Franko as a teacher! He is the best. His teaching methods can make you learn Spanish very fast and efficient. His learning materials are practical and interesting. I enjoy learning with him every time!
Onvipa De La Riva: I really recommend to anybody want to start Spanish class from zero foundation or either you already have foundation. Franko is the best teacher for me. He knows exactly what you need, what are you stuck with. He knows the trick to explain all the grammar, vocabulary, and especially conversation. I would give him 10 if I could.
Kirk Douglass: I took Franko's lessons while attending community college. he uses a conversational approach and discussing things that made learning more fun. time and money well spent. I speak naturally with people that speak Spanish now i'ts changed my life for the better.
Geetha Athreya: I started taking Spanish lessons with Franko in January, and it has been amazing so far. He makes the lessons fun to learn, and adds the native touch to make you understand the culture. He doesn't just teach you the spoken Spanish, but he also teaches the grammar like a professional teacher. He doesn't get tired of correcting until you get it right, even in a group class when you are practicing with each other, he corrects everyone individually - that is how much individual attention he gives to his students. I am learning with him for 8 months now, and I am really enjoying it while I learn. I really love Kasa de Franko! He also organizes Meetup groups for his students so that they can practice talking to each other. This is very useful because it will give you more practice to learn fast, and also let's you make new friends! It supplements the class very well in a friendly environment.I would recommend Franko to all my friends who are interested in a new language.
Ivan Mazepov: I started learning Spanish on my own using Duolinguo, grammar books, and Youtube videos. However, I lacked vocabulary and conversational practice. This is where KDF comes in: the classes are structured in a way that the students are forced to interact in Spanish among themselves and with the professor. I have been able to improve my listening comprehension as well as speaking skills significantly thanks to Franko. Whether you’re just beginning to learn the language or are pretty advanced and looking for additional instruction, KDF is the place to go.
Anna Khlobystina: Franko is the best Spanish teacher I've ever met. All the classes are full of practice and fun 😊 Franko gives a great sense of what the words mean in different countries, tells us a lot about the culture, shares useful resoures helping us learn the language even faster and organizes meetups to help us practice more. Thanks Franko for going above and beyond!
Art Khlobystin: and finally the cultural/countries nuances which make a huge difference depending on what you’re trying to say. Highly recommend Franko!
Frank Munoz-Ruiz: I love my job and what I do. That's why I always do my best sharing my culture with my friends eager to learn more about my language: Spanish!
Dana Chran: I have met Franko for more than a year now and I have enjoyed his teaching method. I like it that he is very knowledgeable and approachable. He speaks six languages which makes it easier for him to understand what students go through when learning a new language. I could not speak a word in Spanish before. By using repetition and mimic, he had me learning a few phrases from the very beginning. The first day of level 1, I knew how to greet and say my name, my origin, my job, my nationality, etc. I was so excited. After using and understanding phrases in context, it is much easier to understand Spanish grammar. He also offers his students a number of resources they can use during the process of learning Spanish. His YouTube videos are very useful to understand in advance what he will discuss in class. His articles and blog are hilarious and a great way to teach how to avoid mistakes during the process of learning Spanish. Also, he organizes Meetups on a weekly basis which allows students to practice outside class. His school is in a very nice residential area. At first, I wasn't sure to go since I knew it was in a house. Then I decided to go to some of his Spanish meetups and I loved his style. Parking has not been a problem since there is always plenty of space. His place is on top of a communications hill so I sometimes just go for a walk around the neighborhood to enjoy a nice view of the city of San Jose.If you don't want to pay for a whole group class or you can't commit to go every week come to KDF's meetups he's super flexible and you get a taste of his teaching style over a beer or two and then you can decide if you want to take lessons with him.

Kha: So far, I have taken Vietnamese 1, 2, and 3 at San Jose Learning Center and it has greatly improved my Vietnamese reading and speaking ability. I have been able to start speaking conversationally with my mom, which was my original goal with learning Vietnamese in the first place - to speak with my parents and become closer to my heritage. I have had good learning experiences with my teachers Duc, Brianne, and My Linh and I can fully recommend them all.
Karan Walia: . Great school!
Laura Winter: San Jose Learning Center is a fantastic resource for adult language learners! The quality of instruction is outstanding with skilled and engaging instructors. I've been studying Italian for 4 months and am extremely pleased with my progress and plan to continue indefinitely.
Saram Chea: . Some of these groups are underrepresented like Lao, Hmong, and Khmer which has a large population in California. When you learn a language, you become part of that community and not just an observer of that community. It’s like having a membership in that community. SJLC is a great place to start. Get your membership today! lol.
Neil: I'm writing this review to highly recommend Niramol "Ann" Samatthiya. She has been my Thai teacher at San Jose Learning Center for the last year and I can flat out say she is the best language instructor I've ever had - of any language I've ever learned! Ann brings a very welcoming, warm, open, and low pressure learning experience to her students. She not only teaches the language but also integrates cultural studies and events too!I would recommend her and San Jose Learning Center to anyone!
Joy Liu: I took Japanese 1 with Ami Sensei. It was a great experience to learn Japanese with her. Very detailed slides and useful in-class practice. Highly recommended!
Dal Fan: Ami Sensei's class is really great. In addition to the textbook material, she would use lots of real life examples in lecture and practice sessions.
Trent Kiefaber: I took level 5 Japanese with Ami and it was an amazing class. She is extremely nice and always helpful! All of San Jose learning Center is very helpful as well.
Tim Le: I took the first two levels of the Vietnamese language at SJLC and I have been learning so much from the material taught to me. All course materials were provided. The instructors take time to make sure we all pronounce the vocabulary & grammar correctly.
Ashley Stefani: I have had an excellent experience learning Italian at the San Jose Learning Center. I have completed two classes so far and I am excited to continue! My teacher, Stefania, is so kind and helpful. I appreciate the smaller class sizes as well. Everyone that I have communicated with from San Jose Learning Center has been extremely helpful and professional. I am so glad I found SJLC!
Danielle Cannella: Learning Mandarin with SJLC has been a great experience so far! I started the level 1 class and I feel like I already learned a lot. The slides are detailed without being too overwhelming and the sessions are recorded so I can go back and review the class again on my own time. The homework also helped to solidify the concepts we learned in class. I would definitely recommend taking language classes with SJLC.
Shankar Saikia: 한국어 11는 훌륭한 수업이었습니다.다음에는 한국어 12를 등록하겠습니다. #learnKoreanI love the San Jose Learning Center. I took an introductory Vietnamese language class offered by them in the fall of 2020. Seriously, everything about the class was fantastic: the instructor, the class content, the delivery style, the students, the timing of the class, their professionalism etc. It seems like they have a real passion for language instruction and it shows in the high quality of everything that they do. Excellent value for money too.
Stephen Chan: I have really enjoyed learning Mandarin from Larry. He is funny but also always knows how to answer our questions. He finds the right balance between teaching us enough content while making it easy to balance having a job. I would highly recommend taking classes with him!
Danyang Wang: Learning Spanish Lvl 1 now and I really enjoy every class. Lisa is super helpful and friendly. Will defenitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn new languages!
Chris Banuelos: Great way to learn a new language. Both the in-person and hybrid classes are great! I am looking forward to learning more!
Yueying Yang: Attended a group Korean class with Yuni, who is a professional and experienced teacher, offering well-structured lessons. SJLC maintains a high level of professionalism and organizes enjoyable language learning activities. Additionally, I met an amazing classmate in my Korean class, with whom I can study and practice Korean even outside of class!
Brenda Lemus: and will be taking level 2 with Natalia. She is a great teacher. I like the pace of the class and that it’s doable with my busy work schedule. I highly recommend the San Jose Learning Center since it offers many language classes and levels.
Leo Yu: I've been taking Spanish classes at SJLC with Erick for 3 levels and it has been absolutely fun! I would recommend anyone who considers to learn a new language to give it a try.

Carla Francine: International Gateway is not only offers a course that helps you prepare for the TOEFL exam, but it also provides exceptional support for international students to adjust to the academic environment and culture of the United States. Besides improving my English skills, I am grateful for the guidance and support I received from their teachers and advisors, as well as the friendships I made during my time there. If you are from abroad and aspire to pursue undergraduate or graduate programs in the United States, SJSU International Gateway is an excellent place to start your path toward the university.
bahar ebrahimi: International Gateways is one of my wonderful experiences in learning English, especially writing a research paper. The programs that they use are helpful not only for daily conversation but also for academic studies and universities. I could succesful to get accepted in Master’s program after finishing my courses at International Gateways.
Gisele Antunes: at SJSU. Since the first day, I have been remembering my excellent decision to study at International Gateways before applying for the Master's degree.During these last weeks, I have understood my classes, also I can contextualize myself with historical and cultural North American references. I am reading tons of chapters at an appropriate speed without translating any word, and I am writing e-mails and assignments with accurate feedback, which means that I am expressing myself and I am being understood. Additionally, today I will make my first presentation and all the practice that I had last semester makes me more confident for today.Besides all the pleasure moments in the classes, I would like to recognize the value of the work that the teachers have been doing for international students at the International Gateways course.
zhang zhiming: TOEFL test center, international student test check-in place

Every teacher and advisor in here were friendly and enthusiastic to students as well as those course they provided were interesting and really helpful. Also you can have fun with teacher and students during holiday. I really spent a happy time during the Halloween party in IG. Maria Alekhina: International Gateways has been a successful starting point for my education in the USA. Beginning my studies here, I was pleasantly surprised by how classes combine knowledge acquisition with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, where teachers and students are equally engaged in the learning process. Thanks to diverse assignments and a kind and relaxed atmosphere, I learned how to logically and concisely express my thoughts in writing and overcame the psychological barrier of communicating in a foreign language. The summer session was very short, yet it's not easy for me to pick out the brightest moment or memory since each class was unique. However, the celebration of the 4th of July was the most fun time, as it allowed me to interact with people from other groups and connect with teachers outside of class.IG provides an excellent opportunity to improve one's English language skills and meet people from all over the world.

The teachers not only well prepare their teaching materials for the whole class but also give out one-to-one help in time. Personally I benefit a lot from timed reading and timed writing, which have successfully changed me from a housewife with easy life to an effective student with busy life. Overall, after studying at SJSU, I have transferred to a college for further study. Thank you all!
