syed sabeel ahmed: worked together and pulled through. In spite of the board members working on voluntary basis they were very helpful and ready to explain and clarify any questions and concerns. Sr. Salma goes out of her way to help with purchase while making sure the bylaws are followed.A lot of misunderstandings arise when concepts are not understood before hand. AHC is an islamic corporation and it has its own bylaws, so comparing it with regular banking is not correct. In regular banking, money is given to an individual with house being as a collateral, where as AHC co-owns the property and hence a partner in loss & gain. So thinking that AHC is just as any other regular bank minus the usury part is not correct.To have a better understanding and remove any misconception/assumption, it is highly recommended that AHC should describe a few cases
saad uz zaman: around 1.4-1.5% which is very decent considering you just have to invest without worrying about maintenance costs etc. Obviously a lot of the executive team are on a voluntary basis to keep profits high and operational costs low; a side effect of this is slight delay in certain processes. The delays are not so bad however, and people like Sr Salma go out of their way in making sure everything happens as smoothly as possible. Overall, highly recommended, but keep your expectations real, they don't have 100's of employees.

Nancy Sampson: BesmAllah,To be honest I have Alhamdulillah purchased a home through Ameen housing. They have ups and downs, but they are running on volunteers. May Allah reward them for the time they are putting into this project. I have read many reviews on Google and many are complaining about how a conventional bank is cheaper. I say to them, would you accept to eat pork even if it tastes amazing, would you even think about eating it? The answer is no because it is haram. So no matter how much cheaper a bank is, we should never even use it to compare it to something halal. It is always easier to complain, but it is harder to help find solutions. If you do not like a certain policy Ameen Housing has, go and talk with the board members and convince them of a better alternative. May Allah guild us all to the true path and make the correct decisions and make us from the people who help in change rather than complain.
