Almaden Quicksilver County Park: what do users think?

Fatemeh Ramezani: Wonderful hiking trail for socializing and doing activity in the nature. Highly recommended.

Orly Liba: Awesome steep trails, great views of the bay and Mt. Um.No restrooms or water anywhere. Beware of poison oak and snakes.

J Bri: permanently closed to bikes - including the Senador Mine trail & Webb Canyon entrances

leslie landauer: This is an amazing county park in back of a neighborhood! Lots of parking and many trails to choose from. Lots of up hill but trails are well marked and in good condition. Good variety of vegetation and picnic tables along the route. Some sunny areas as well as shaded areas so bring sunscreen and lots of water.

Dude: In A Nutshell:-Almaden Quicksilver County Park is a nice gem, deep in the foothills of Silicon Valley.-This is Pat Tillman country too.-If you want a wide variety of paths to choose from, this place will fulfill your needs.-Not only do you get options, but you also get a varied scenery of rolling hills & foliage.-There are couple trees here where miners were hung.Overall, be wary of mountain lions as they do roam around since it's their home, not ours.

Rima Mehta: Dog-friendliness: Very suitable for dogs!

Todd Fitzwater: Great trail network. Very Hilly. Lots of up and down. Pretty views. Old mining spots. Old towns. Old cemetery. Pretty cool. Muddy in the rain.

Vesper Aeon: Was listening to AKFJC when I heard about this park, so I decided to go check it out. It is pretty damn big, and the hills are pretty Steve, so make sure you bring a canteen full of water.

Max: Several interconnected trails are ideal for short hikes or longer bicycle rides. Most trails are fairly flat.Recommended activities Hiking, Running, Biking, Dog Walking, Walking Parking space Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options Free street parking …

thyagarajan kunju: Serene and picturesque with long walking trails surroundingOpen farm land. Ambience is encouraging for long walks.

Ms. M: Unfortunately the trail got a little sketch as you were further down, but if your looking for a quick loop for running its a decent spot.

jiakun dai: The road conditions are very good, very suitable for walking, cycling, and exercising

Tony Chan (Uncle Tony): Good working distance. Fit for everyone.

Mari Rodriguez: Beautiful scenic views, great trails, fun for all.

Nelly Khayat: Love the trails. Well used by neighborhood families. Wonderful to see parents and kids walking or biking together. I saw a coyote for the first time this week while walkingA few months back I saw deer on the trail near Odetta Trails meadow

Jeff B (Jeffery): This is a nice gem that you might overlook. The park is part of the larger Coyote Trail and has a wonderful workout area and playground. The trail is paved and winds through nice woods that keep you cool. Parking is scarce, but it seems like the park is frequented most by people in the neighborhood. The one downside is the waterway and how it seems to attract homeless, yet noone bothered us during our visit.

Hilary Genise: Great walk. About 1 mile. Easy to social distance

Lisa Incatasciato: Nice area. Old walnut trees are in the center of the paved loop path. There is free but limited street parking. No bathrooms. Unfortunately there were a lot of people jogging without a mask in some kind of unofficial race.

Maria Zuniga: Large distance for long walks , trails with lots of shade, exercise area,

Carlos Campos: Beautiful place lots of shade and fresh air

Calero County Park: what do users think?

Paul: Test drove this boat 32 years ago on calero reservoir I finished our story with it last weekend gave it to my son now he's going to start his new adventure with it clearo reservoir is awesome place to go spend the day..

Mi Nu: Very nice, beautiful view 💖

Rob Garneau: . Best in the spring when the wildflowers are blooming. Hikes can be challenging with fairly steep climbs.

lynsey Hudson: Beautiful lake. The rangers are always there to help you out of you need it. Lots of wild life

Natalie D. Wang: Nice view around the reservoir and so fresh

Mas S: Beautiful county park. Little lake, rolling hills, cattle, mountain biking...many ways to enjoy the park.

Dipak Modi: Numerous accessible trails wind through this park, offering breathtaking views of the Calero reservoir. The trails can get muddy during rainfall. There are prime spots for birdwatching and picturesque views of the reservoir, along with a handful of scenic picnic spots near the ponds.

Anastasiia Balyberdina: .Before visiting make sure the trails are open - during our visit most of the trail close to the reservoir was closed. The rest of it was quite muddy due to the recent rains. The hill trails were fine though.Restrooms: There were porta pottys at the trail head, didn’t see any on the trails.

Yi Lin: , I discovered an exceptional trail system that truly wowed me. The breathtaking views and diverse options available are particularly striking in the spring, when the hills are awash with vibrant green hues and clouds drift lazily across the azure sky. Initially, my plan was to tackle a 10-mile loop, but when the final third of the trail was unexpectedly closed, I ended up diverting an additional 3 miles along the reservoir. This unplanned detour was far from disappointing—the views were spectacular. The verdant landscape was the highlight for me, enhanced by the trail's excellent maintenance. A word of caution for summer hikers: the hilltop sections can be quite exposed to the sun, so it's wise to carry plenty of water or start early in the day. Overall, this trail ranges from easy to moderate difficulty, depending on which paths you choose to combine. Springtime, in my experience, is the optimal season for exploration.

Donald Jenkins: First time there. Did not explore park, but still had great view of Mt. Hamilton.

Marcos García Hernández (PANTHER): Perfect 👌 place to relaxRecommended activities Hiking, Running, Biking, Birdwatching, Walking …

Daniel Flores: I’ve gone on a few hikes here nice and flat great place to go on a run or on your mountain bike.

Georgina Salazar: Great local trail a short walk from my community. It feels safe because it’s well maintained, has nice signs, and gets used a lot by people walking, running, biking, and using small motorized vehicles. Still, I’ve never seen it really crowded, probably because there isn’t a lot of parking nearby. I haven’t gone far on this trail; I guess it’s long and has many access points farther away

Andrew St.Martin: I frequently ride this trail on my bike riding workouts and when riding my bike to work. Lots of wildlife can be seen: Canada geese, great blue herons, once I saw a mother deer and her fawn. There are some homeless encampments between the 880 underpass and downtown.

Rusdi Marpaung: Nice place to walk, jogs and bike.. near airport

Brendan Sagucio: Nice quiet trail. Great view of the fireworks from Great America

Tom Jacopi: This is very popular with mtn bikers, and some trail runners. The basic loop is 8mi with no significant sustained climbing so riders of most fitness levels can do it. It’s a wider single track trail which is a good width for beginning and intermediate bikers. The reason it’s not 5 stars is that it’s not pretty. Some ok views, but nothing special. If your a hiker, it’s not a bad loop, but be prepared for *lots* of bikes.

Ronil Sawant (Californiaaa_baybae): Coyote Peak and Ridge Trail Loop -3.8 miles and 1 hr 50 mins to completeModerately challengingProbably the Best park in San Jose since there are Lots of different trails & many different ways to choose from. The trails are clearly marked, but they can get a bit muddy after rains. Benches are scattered around the scenic spots. The best time to visit is in April. Since the trail is completely exposed, April is not that hot. Also you can see a lot of wild flowers, even Poppy.Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.Kids friendly hikeRestrooms: Few restroomsDog-friendliness: Allowed on leashPicnic area: Many benches

Bob: Good jogging/hiking trails. Been my park for over 50 years. Looking SW, the low grassy hills are RanchoSan Vicente/Calaro.The woody hills behind that is Almaden QuickSilver Park

Marco Paganini: so be prepared. The payback is beautiful views in a very quiet place. During the summer, expect a pleasant and constant breeze. There are also a few benches where you can rest.Parking: There's an unofficial parking lot outside

Jason Pritchard: I cheat and drive to the top of this hill.

Timothy Riener: Amazing view! Requires a hike that is accessible to most amateur hikers, albeit with a little bit of a workout. For the stronger hikers not all that difficult. The reward is a 270 degree view.

Sriram Venkatesh: Beautiful views of the Bay Area and the adjoining hills at the top. If the hills are green, a must do hike in south San Jose.Parking: County park has a $6 fee while entering the parking areaRestrooms: Public restrooms available near the parking lot

mike F: Fees: $6 per day, $95 annual passDog-friendliness: Dogs on leash. You enter a gated cow pasture toward the top and will walk among the herd at timesRecommended activities Hiking, Walking Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Paid parking lot …

Phong Pham: Easy hike to get a clear 360° views of Santa Clara county. Watch out for speeding mountain bikers.

Chip Li: Great view on the top. Either climbing the hard way from the north or drive to the top from the south passing the lake. Some lonely ATnT workers on the top too.

Steve Zamek: Great hiking area with 360 panoramic views and wild flowers in the spring

Satya Narayan Vijayvergia: Natural BEAUTY

Anatoly Ivanov: Top of the mountain in Santa Teresa County park. This is the local Everest . As with real Everest, the views are great but it can get crowded. If you are seeking solitude, this may not be your cup of tea.

Viper: Great views! Can see downtown San Jose from there and also most of Bay Area. Great for sunsets

Stefan Baeurle: Beautiful hike up the green hills with plenty of magnificent views.

Kshitiz Goel: It's a good view point only 2-3 mile hike from the golf course. There are some benches to sit and watch the sun set over the hills and look at the Bay Area from a bird's eye view. The hike down can be a little treacherous due to loose stones and dirt. We also saw some deer during the hike.

Vignesh Manoharan: Nice Hike ! Not too strenuous, but really works your muscles !

Bo Thomasson: 20 years ago, I had a job nearby that I didn't like much. The hike up to this peak a couple of times a week kept me sane. Often saw deer on the trail, occasionally coyotes, once a bobcat near the base.

Danyelle: Really awesome view on a clear day, and very rewarding as the hike is not terribly challenging either. Plenty of space for social distancing and rocks/benches to sit on.
