All being said you will never find better quality fish and chips for the price they ask today.No one comes close, because this shop is dedicated to the art or making the perfect fish and chip, for customers who only want fish and chips. This is not a seafood restaurant, this is a fish and chip shop. Those that know, know._________________Okay, this review is complicated because I’m trying to be as objective as I can, but let me start by saying that even on a bad day, I prefer Harbor Fish & Chips to anyone else I have tried in the Bay Area, and therefore I give it 5 stars. That’s not to say the place is perfect but I’ll explain later.Not gonna lie but we have been disappointed with Harbor Fish & Chips, HFC, like everyone else is saying recently and so in the past few years we have tried two places in the Saratoga Prospect Rd area, one place on Meridian and Willow, two places in Downtown San Jose, 1 place on Story & White Rd, and even a shop in Bodega Bay. Not very extensive tries I know but I’ve had to pay over $25 for a simple two piece fish and chips at these shops and all of them had the same problem. You take a bite and your mouth is flooded with oil despite all of them looking absolutely amazing. We can take a little grease no problem but all had issues beyond a little grease filled bite. Lack of flavor in the batter despite its glamorous appearance.ALL FISH & CHIPS SHOULD TASTE GOOD BEFORE ADDING CONDIMENTS.Having been so disappointed we concluded that we should try HFC again and eat earlier in the day
Brett Murray: . The fish and chips were solid and the clam strips were good! Really hit the spot! The breading, cook, seasoning all really did the job. I was happy! Next time I'm going to have to try the clam chowder, which is where I'm super picky, to really see what's what. I've only found one clam chowder in CA I truly enjoy, so we'll see.Worth noting... The atmosphere is that of a strip mall seafood shack, so don't expect much. But it was clean and functional.Parking: It's a wide open lot that always seems to have plenty of spaces!
Victoria Plascencia: My dad used to take me to Harbor Fish & Chips when I was younger. The food was always amazing!Tonight, my husband and I were craving Fish & Chips. They are under new ownership and I must say that Jason & Josh were super friendly, talkative, and attentive. They really have cleaned up the place while still providing the old vibes and atmosphere that Harbor Fish always had.The fish & shrimp were so tasty! We were very pleased with the portions of food and the pricing.Thank you Jason & Josh!
Jason Johnson: are crunchy and hot, while the fried zucchini are crunchy on the outside and zucchiniee on the inside. So good! 😋 The only reason I gave 4 stars for service is because the old family would let me substitute fried zucchini for chips on the 1 fish 3 shrimp combo, which is my all time favorite. The new family took over and stopped that service, so now I have a bunch of chips and have to pay for the fried zucchini I loved for so long. Overall, it's still a good experience, but I've slowed down in my visits just because of the new family's business practices, which in the long run is causing them to lose money. But they're still running strong so they must not need my money that badly 🤷🏽♂️Parking: There's always parking directly in front of the business.

Mike and Lynn gave us generous portions of fries.Dietary restrictions: We asked for no salt on the food. We used tartar sauce and malt vinegar on the fish.Parking: The parking lot is shared by several business.
soldier3335: We were craving some fish and chips, and there aren't many of these places left. Now this a mom and pop shop, and pop is in the back frying up the food. If your looking for fancy, this place is not it. The food was good, but the ice machine didn't work for our soda and the ketchup was watered down. I dont want to give a bad review because they were a nice older couple probably just trying to make it. So I will say that the food was good, service was great, but I would probably fond another place for fish and chips next time I have a craving.

Kevin Ranta: To preface this, I’m a little bit of a snob when it comes to crab/lobster. Overall, I was happy with this option at a food court style marketplace. They had a lot of different seafood options, but I wanted to get something with crab that would also be filling. The lobster roll is calling my name, but at the price, I could not justify it. I ended up going for the crab fries, which overall were very good. If anything, I found their to not be enough crab. Based on the price, though, there was a reasonable amount of crab. I really liked that the fries had cheese on them, if anything, they had too much sauce. I paired it with a beer from one of the bars nearby, but forgot to take a picture. I would recommend going to this location with friends as there are many options for people to enjoy.Vegetarian options: I would not recommend this place for vegetarians as it’s primarily seafoodBasedDietary restrictions: Don’t eat here if you have a seafood or shellfish allergy. They definitely have options for pescatarians.Parking: There was free street parking, but it was very competitive. We ended up parking and I paid parking spot.Kid-friendliness: This place definitely has options for kids, however, the seafood restaurant does not have a lot of kid friendly optionsWheelchair accessibility: You can enter this establishment in a wheelchair, but it’s very crowded and might not be the best experience
Tamara Kleiman: Had a late lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon. The service was good from.both the cashier and the chef.We ordered the Mahi Mahi Sliders and some Fish & Chips. The sliders were tasty but in my opinion the fish and chips was superior.The portion size was quite generous, the fish tasted fresh and was fried to perfection.Another thing I appreciated is the very ingenious design on the bar itself. It has various sea creatures in what looks like a beach made of resin, really cute

You order at the front desk and then go get your meal.There are not many tables, so many people order togo .The fish fillet is outside light crispy inside tender , you can tell fish is fresh ! Ava Rietveld: I've been coming here for years and after trying multiple other fish n chips spots in the bay i can honestly say this is the best. The fish is always perfectly crispy and never greasy. Ive tried almost the entire menu and have never been disappointed. The tartar sauce is unlike any other and is a highlight of this restaurant. Another major plus of this place is the amazing service, they are always very kind. The only negative is that they took their mozzarella cheesesticks off the menu a while back and that was one of my favorite items. Other than that 5 stars.

Grigoriy Dubyago: Delicious Crab Cake Sandwich, absolutely perfect in every way. Stopped in mid week at 2:30 for lunch. Got quick, friendly and knowledgeable service, got our food quick and was very happy with the atmosphere and location in downtown San Jose. First time coming here and was not disappointed. Parking can be kinda tough in downtown but we were able to find street parking just 1 block up the street.

korleia Aldarondo: The food was okay but not great. I wouldn't recommend the curry shrimp. It came in a bowl and was basically soup but the shrimp wasn't peeled head and all. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing but you was burning your hands trying to unpeel the shrimp. I would have prefer that be in the description because I wouldn't have ordered it.
Cameron Davidson: Big T's is shockingly delicious! It really upped the seafood game. I wanted to try everything on the menu, so I ordered a lunch sampler. Everything was immaculate. The seafood is so fresh, you can watch them pull your dining selection out of their tanks.Everybody was super nice too. Prompt attentive service. I really like the atmosphere too. It seems like it would be popping off in the evenings. Super fun!Do not pass this place up, you will not regret it!
