4worldlovers: Located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, Saratoga Pediatric Subacute (SPS) is Northern California’s original provider of pediatric sub-acute care. Certified by CMS as a five-star facility, SPS provides 24-hour nursing and respiratory therapy to children age 0-21 years. All of our licensed staff are PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certified and specially trained to treat catastrophically injured and severely disabled children.

Children are typically referred to SPS from NICU, PICU, or ICU wards of regional hospitals once their care has stabilized and they no longer need an acute level of care. The median sub-acute stays at SPS is three years, although much shorter or longer stays may be medically necessary for some patients. Children are referred to SPS by major hospitals throughout Northern California, including CHoNC Pediatric Hospital, Lucille Packard Women & Children’s Hospital, Stanford University Medical Center, UC Davis Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Valley Medical Center, and hospitals that belong to the Dignity Health, Kaiser Permanente, and Sutter Health systems, among others. SPS accepts most insurance coverage, including Medi-Cal, Medi-Cal managed care, private pay, and commercial coverage.
