brandi paplos: was friendly and patient with me as I was a little indecisive about scheduling a day/time.I arrived at noon on Thursday and there were several people waiting, the front desk quickly acknowledged me and checked me in for my appointment, I did not wait long at all for my technician to greet me and walk me back to her station.Cynthia was friendly and knowledgeable with what I wanted, I got a root touch-up and a haircut/blow dry. It turned out great. I was very satisfied and left feeling good and happy with her services... I will definitely return to her again!

Cristina Q: I do not wish to lower the rating on this establishment, but this needs to be known:The young woman working the front desk has no business contacting future students to discriminate and discourage them from attending the program. As a paying customer, future student and someone who invested her time and money in order to attend the program, I should not be dealing with harassment as such.I regretfully made the decision to withdraw due to the discrimination and the lengths this individual took in order for me to feel uncomfortable.No one representing the school should contact students in this manner. All students no matter their background, creed, race, etc. should not be discouraged from attending a program. This is exactly what I experienced and I am disheartened by it. A person representing the school should encourage and welcome all.Also, mind you I was not contacted by those running the program. It’s the woman working the front desk with her poor opinions and stigma towards individuals. Those running the program are amazing people with a wonderful attitude and I believe those working there should reflect just that.

It’s one of the only schools in the area that has flexible scheduling and is affordable. Located in downtown San Jose next to a lot of places to eat and Oak Ridge mall. Great hands on school where you learn everything not just a hair focused school. Everyone is super nice like Ms Keisha and Ni. and their new location is super clean and modern. Jade Beauty & Barber College is a well educated school to learn from. Mrs. Tu is wise in the Beauty field. Over 20 years experience and it shows. Every time Mrs. Tu gives a lesson, I get blown away by her techniques. She can do it all. Alot of schools claim their instructors know the lessons they teach but that's a lie. The employee turn over is Crazy. Every month there's a new instructor or someone's getting fired at Urban Barber College. They talk so much negativeity about the students and threaten to terminate them from the program. Everyday at Urban Barber College I was walking on eggshells. Here at Jade Beauty & Barber, it feels like I'm home. Mrs. Tu gives you Everything you need to succeed and like every school, it's up to the students to put in the work. Every school has drama, just like most jobs. It's not fair to leave a negative review because it's your mindset that will defeat yourself. If you feel you need help, ask. If you need more quizzes, ask. If you wanna be pushed more, ask. Mrs. Tu gives the perfect amount of hours for lecture and mostly just practice. It's up to the student to get off their butts and do the work. You can't blame anyone else for your failures. It's called blaming! Once you take your State Board Exam. You'll have the knowledge and wisdom to pass. And the Best thing you'll have going for yourself is the handwork to maneuver you shears, comb and clippers along with doing facials for the Barber program which I'm taking. The price for attending is the Best in the Bay Area and if you need a payment plan. Mrs. Tu has the sweetest heart and she'll work with you. Like I said, this school is like family where you'll be teached like a Mother teaches her own children. I can speak all day about how amazing this school is but like all things must come to an end. I really hope you check this school out. And one thing I forgot to mention. The Barber program unlike cosmotek has plenty of male barbers to learn with and a OG veteran instructor to learn from. I completely forgot and I'm soooo sorry. Mr. Raymond is the Owner and he's the nicest most generous man I've ever met. His Ora draws you in and without him and Mrs. Tu for welcoming me in and taking me in, I wouldn't be where I am today. Everyone, they both made it possible for me. Thank you both for guiding me and teaching me. The amount of time you spend with me is priceless. 🙏

Michael Erickson: Lookin for a cheap, legit school to get it done with? This the one. Instructors are straight forward and actually will teach what you need to know and will push you to do better and are honest. That’s how you’ll grow after graduating and going out into the real world in a less forgiving environment. Take advantage of what is offered and what you can do there. Those 1 star reviews are from students who don’t try and aren’t dedicated to getting it done and get hurt easily by constructive criticism. As long as you do your part they will do theirs. Thanks to the dedicated guidance and facilitation of the teachers, I was able to register for the exam after completing 240 hours and get my license in just one attempt. eric vu: I just finished the barbering program. Miss Thu and Lena are great teachers. It's also probably one of the most affordable schools in the Bay Area. I felt a little lost in the beginning because I thought barber school was all about cutting hair. However, I learned that the state board test has other procedures that you must learn. If the teachers are busy, senior students will usually help. Everyone is pretty nice and down to help out. I also felt that sometimes the teachers were putting me under pressure but I learned that was just to help me perform better at the state board. The teachers will put you through mock tests that will prepare you for the state board. If you can pass it with Miss Thu then the state board will be easy. Miss thu , Lena, and all the staff and students made my school experience enjoyable. They want you to succeed and will help you out if want it.

She took time to listen and offer resources to help her change her license and take the test in California. Jimmy Nguyen: I’m a current student at KZ, I’ve been here for almost two months, and so far I’ve learned a lot from the other barbers and instructors. I was first doing cosmo at a different school, but I wasn’t learning much so I decided to switch to barber and move to KZ. A friend of mine is a regular at KZ and he told me the barbers here are really good, and that I should check them out. In the end I can say I made the right decision in coming here.
