Jeremy Lum: Remodeling a bathroom originally designed in 1980. There was a cracked tile in the shower and I worried about water damage and mold. While the quote for the remodel was on the higher end, it was completely worth it. Most damage as long as it not a loadbearing stud would be covered I was told. Was happy to find out there was no damage. The tiling job was outstanding as was the painting. The floor installation was great. While the project took one day more than the estimate, I completely consider that on time. Communication was great. Any question or concern I had was responded to quickly. The last walkthrough before closing the project was several days after completion so I could use everything to make sure it was okay. For starters, my previously creaky tiles have been completely replaced, it definitely feels great walking on tiles that don't sink or wobble. From our first meeting, we immediately were impressed with them, Guy and David came that day and they both listened to our needs and what we were thinking. They gave us a quote and stayed within that quote for the entire job, which we loved. As you can see in the pictures, our backsplash is a big statement in our kitchen, the guy that did the tiles was very detailed oriented and didn't mind that I was hovering over him looking at everything, the end result is so perfect.David was our main manager and he responded quickly and offered solutions when needed. Allen, the designer we worked with, was great and really helped me with some things that I was on the fence about. He also made the most amazing renderings, which helped us visualize everything so much better.Overall, we had a really positive experience, everyone was great to work with and they were really fast problem solvers. We also had a couple of issues arise and they were here within a few minutes fixing it, even on a Sunday and evenings.This was our first big remodel in our fixer-upper and couldn't be happier with the result and the experience.

James Curran: Back in December, we had water intrusion in our townhome's 2nd floor bathroom. Our HOA hired a water intrusion repair company to come and dry out our home. This included cutting parts of our 1st and 2nd floor walls open. However, no one bothered to inform us that the reconstruction costs would fall on us. What followed was about a month of a stereotypical construction nightmare mixed with high levels of HOA bureaucracy.The HOA finally told us that they would not pay for restoration and that left us in quite a fix. After getting a number of exorbitant quotes and poor responsiveness we were close to giving up and just living with a tore up home. Then, by dumb luck, we crossed paths with Guy. His rates were more than fair and his team restored our home in about two weeks. The communication was excellent and the team was punctual even though we were just a small side project that they were squeezing in between other larger ones in our area.We would not hesitate to hire them again and can not thank them enough.

Chris Kolly: Avi, the general contractor, was a nice guy and I believe means well, but in since the remodel of two bathrooms and a kitchen, quite a bit of the work from his company has proven to either fall apart, be of poor workmanship, or simply be installed or built incorrectly.I found Bay Remodeling Kitchen and Bath by reading several online reviews and when I called the company, the owner, Avi, did arrive at my home promptly and gave a very professional presentation complete with previous work, which seemed of high quality. I felt immediately comfortable entrusting him with the remodel of ONE bathrooms and a kitchen of a home I recently purchased as my primary residence. I was excited as my son had just been born and the house was to be our ‘forever home’.Day 1: I went to the house to find his demolition crew was busy demolishing....the wrong bathroom. They had gotten so far into the work it was past the point of ‘no return’. To his credit, Avi did immediately contact me and apologize. Because that bathroom was intended to EVENTUALLY be remodeled, we worked out a fair price to include it in the overall remodel. Problem solved? Unfortunately, no.Weeks on: Both bathrooms were completed and I was happy with the result. Then the kitchen. Demolition went smoothly, new wiring, plumbing and flooring were installed and the cabinets were next. I drove to the house to find....the brand new refrigerator had been STOLEN. I called Avi, who was out of town, then the police to file a report. When Avi’s foreman showed up, he expressed his suspicion the cabinet installers may have stolen it. I didn’t point fingers and patiently waited for the police to complete their investigation. Nothing came of it as it was a ‘...his word against theirs’ type of situation. I ultimately filed an insurance claim, paid the deductible and moved on. Admittedly, there is no way I can prove Avi’s guys had anything to do with it.Two days later: cabinets installed and most of the hardware had been drilled into brand new drawers and doors crooked. Pictures included with a level for reference. I was met with immediate resistance from Avi and his foreman stating, ‘...it isn’t that bad...’. Maybe not. The readers on this review can decide.After completion: 3 electrical outlets on the walls opposite the kitchen are without power. Avi shows up with his foreman and their response: ‘...we don’t even know these outlets ever had power even before the remodel...’. True, but what are the odds?Two years on: I finally notice the stoppers for the all of the drains in the bathrooms were never installed. I rarely use the bathroom sinks for more than brushing my teeth, so I don’t need to fill a sink with water but my wife recently discovered this when washing something. As a coincidence, I recently found these tucked in a corner of the garage. If the actual pop-up drains are still in boxes, I have no idea what is actually installed in the sinks.Little details I recently noticed: the ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ water positions on all the kitchen sinks are inconsistent, cabinet doors are uneven, floor moulding in more concealed locations never installed, etches can be seen in the ceiling where recess lighting had been misaligned, leaving the initial partial cuts in the ceiling in view.These problems were brought up later to Avi but at the time he was still searching for a construction team to work with as he apparently moves from one team to the next. Reading these reviews, I see he occasionally finds a good crew to work with, but a note to future customers: Avi and many general contractors subcontract with myriad plumbers, electricians, tile workers, etc. If he has a few bad subcontractors, you result might be similar. Good workers will likely produce a good result. Buyer beware...Addendum:Avi reached out with a new crew and sent them over. They did a good job and at least fixed the biggest things that were in need of modification or repair. Also it's closed to Stanford where you can find some guys working for you.The reception staffs are very nice and helpful. The rooms are modernly designed and fully equipped. Only issue is the rental fee is expensive. I stay here in last two years, it's a nice place before your company scale out.

Jiqing Zhang: went up by 30% one year after the contract was signed. I really appreciate it.The construction went fast with good quality. The outcome is almost the same as the rendering. During the construction, they found that our project scope is bigger than expected; it was like a rebuild - they needed to remove all of the exterior and interior walls, rewire the electricity and reinstall the water pipes for the whole house. However, they didn't ask me to pay more because of that or cut any corners.The communication is good. They created a whatsapp group to update the progress and communicate any changes.We have lived in the new house for a couple of months now. So far, everything has worked well, and we really enjoyed the house. There was one incident where I suspected a leak under the kitchen sink. I called Eli, and the plumber came to check it out the next day. The service after the project is done is good so far.Overall, I was satisfied with their service and collaboration after Eli took over the project. They did a reasonably good job but could have done better. I want to give them 4.5 stars. I hope to see Eli Alon again, but not for this house, the next one. :

Stan Chiu: My house is located at the foothill and part of the handrail were collapsing due to water damage. This is not a easy to build deck cause involving the foundation. Ben came and gave me a quotation the second day and other company I contacted they were all busy and never returned to my call. The process went smoothly and Ben always answered my text within hours. His crew Lorenzo was also very helpful and professional to explain and build the deck and the foundation. Their price is fair and their work is fantastic. Without Ben, I know I couldn’t handle the project myself. He gave me the idea of using durable Ipe wood on the post and pressure treated wood to build the foundation and flashing around the edge to prevent water damage to the house. The deck materials I m using is not real wood come with 50 years warranty, without using any nail except on the edge. They were patient enough to build it cause the angle of the deck were hard to calculate. I really appreciate the workmanship and so happy I finally can enjoy the deck.

X. Madri: B&B remodeled my guest and master bathrooms after a bad experience with another contractor. We were pleased with the superior standard of workmanship. The good communication with all members of the team. we were assigned Daniel, as our project manager who went above and beyond to assist us when we ran into issues of materials procurement. We were also assigned an assistant project manager and a designer who assisted with all material purchases and questions and helped get them ready before our project started. The project was delayed a bit but still completed within the promised time frame. The price was reasonable, and we are happy with the end results.

Ultimately we decided to go with Clever because of Gili, he was transparent and we immediately felt comfortable with him handling our remodel.My husband and I are extremely busy with our jobs so the last thing we wanted to fill up our spare time with was project managing, and running around figuring out what we needed to get. We didn't have to worry about anything. When we were nearing the end of the project Gili and team left the home on better condition then when they started the project it felt like. We moved in last year and needed a lot of work done but our top priority was the kitchen and floors. We got some quotes last year but then never did anything with them. We went back through the interview process and after meeting with a couple contractors we landed on Top Home Builders. They provided a fair price and took care of everything start to finish which is what we were looking for. Charlie was very professional and communicated the good, the bad, and the ugly in a way that kept us informed without freaking out. There were some change orders that came up during the process but the house is old and I expected they would find some stuff. I’ve heard nightmare stories about change orders but Top Home Builders was very reasonable and I didn’t feel taken advantage of in the slightest.We worked with their designer who assisted with shopping for all of the finishes and also provided very impressive 3D renderings so we could get a good idea of the final look before work had even started. I didn’t know the first thing about shopping and I don’t have the best eye for design so it was extremely valuable that they provided this service.The crew was great - Clean work, polite, and hardworking. I don’t recall all of their names but a big thanks to everyone involved. Danny was the foreman and he had a very positive, can-do attitude. Charlie visited the project every day, sometimes I’d see him sometimes not but it was nice to know that he was staying on top of the project so that I didn't feel like I had to.We will be calling them back for our many other projects throughout the house. I didn’t have to do anything. It was so nice to let someone take care of it—and take care of it correctly.• Comfort—I felt Jacob and his team were honest and had my best interests at heart. I was comfortable asking them questions, talking about problems that arose during the project, and having them in my home.• Timeliness—The team was on time and very responsive. They worked every day and finished the project about ten days sooner than I expected.• Cleanliness—The team was surprisingly clean. Digging concrete piers from under the house—in a crawlspace 18 inches high—was loud, dirty, and dusty. They protected the floors and hung plastic barriers to isolate the work space. And, after each day, the team swept up and stacked their tools nicely. Of course there was a garbage pile outside the house during the project, but it was removed within a day of the project being completed. Jacob even planned to have someone come to my house to clean it after the project was done.What initially overwhelmed me turned out to be a positive experience. I’m very happy that I could work with Jacob and the Lemon team and hope to be able to use them again on future projects.

After speaking with Asaf, the owner, I had him go ahead with the project. From older rugs and linoleum flooring to updated modern hardwood flooring, recessed lighting, full bathroom and full kitchen remodel, it looks AMAZING!Then, a few month later, I spoke with Asaf about a project I needed done, which would include: removing and replacing balconies, downstairs ceilings, and upstairs floors to bring the building up to 2018 code. They pride themselves on being the team that proves it is possible to get it done on time or ahead of schedule, with minimal disruption and no extra fees. Let's take a moment and look at that no additional fees thing. I got quotes from five different places; they are the only ones that didn't make change orders the usual way of doing the work. One price, no change orders. That is incredible and has helped greatly along the way.

From the first meeting until the final inspection and cleanup every step was done with care. They finished in four weeks on schedule. They treated our house as if it were their own homes. They consulted with us every step of the way to make sure we were getting what we wanted. Although there was dust, they sealed off the two adjoining rooms to keep the dust to a minimum. All the tile was cut outdoors and under water which eliminated tile cutting dust. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We would give them six stars if we could.

We love our project manager Michele who is always very responsive and helpful with her honest advices. There are million moving parts involved with getting the permit from the city, ordering materials, inspections, and of course many unforeseen changes and added costs involved with remodeling an old house with a tight deadline.
