Kathleen Pollard: One of the most beautiful parks in California. So many paths for walking, biking and roller skating, Japanese Gardens, De Young Museum, Academy of Science, rose garden and much more! Great place to bring your dog, too. Also, vendors selling pretzels , hot dogs, ice cream and drinks.

Lluis Higini Melero Peris: Modified._A few years ago we were in San Francisco taking advantage of a stay at a relative's house in the city. One of the places that could not be missed was Golden Gate Park. We visited the park on several occasions, lucky to be staying on Balboa Street. It has an extension of 5 kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide, doing it in one day seems like an impossible mission, which is why the park has minibuses that travel through it. At one end of the park, delimiting the beach, are the two windmills on each side. During the various visits to the park we discovered new beautiful and unique corners, such as the Japanese garden decorated with pagodas and bonsai trees, with the area where a herd of American buffalo is located, as well as museums, botanical gardens and sports areas. There are endless things in that park. I can only describe it as excellent. I took photos of almost every corner, and since this park offers a lot, it is appropriate to make individual reviews.

Jota Ce: , greeting the bison... If you travel from east to west you end up in the sea.

Salma Bakr: Amazing park by all measures. A slightly larger version of Central Park in NYC. Tons to see and do. You can easily spend a full day there on weekends or weekdays. My kids especially like the bison paddock and the California Academy of Sciences. And I love the De Young museum and the botanical garden.

Berrin Cantez: It's a wonderful park, just be careful of the grass after it rains, some areas can be deeper and muddy than they appear.

Mon Sin-A (Mon-Si-A): Great place to be at. There are paid parking and street parking. Prepare jacket as it get cold.

Athira Raj: Great park to walk and scenic. Food trucks and event

Maggy C: It is a large and beautiful park where there is a lot to explore and enjoy. Trails and meadows, Academy of Sciences, Botanical Garden, Japanese Garden, Plant Conservatory, courts, sports, Academy of Arts, food carts, everything makes an exceptional place to have a special day for adults and children.

Wayman Wong: Hellsman HallowDog-friendliness: On leashPicnic area: Fully used

J M: The grounds are huge. The Japanese tea garden is gorgeous and tended with love. The area where they have live music had no grass and was pretty bare

Matty B: San Francisco’s iconic city park is truly one of my favorite things about living in the city. It’s huge and fully of little, hidden treasures! I go walking here at least twice a week and I’m constantly finding new things.Public restrooms: Yes Picnic tables: Yes …

Chuck Dougherty: Historic park in the North Beach neighborhood. There are large lawn areas, a children's playground, and restrooms. It's very convenient for shopping and popular restaurants.

Harmony Mancino: Beautiful and wild. If, like me, you have a dog without perfect recall, I recommend on leash hiking only. There are coyotes out at all times of day and night, in all areas of the park. For my medium size dog, he thinks it's a game to chase them. I use a long, 12 foot leash with him now and it gives me peace of mind.

Loui Valentin (Conjustojunkyardcity): Saved

Amanda M: We visited this park a few years back. The kids had an absolute blast. Until one broke her leg. Dad was taking littlest down on his lap and middle decided she wanted to ride that way too. Nearly all the way down her foot fell off his lap and got caught between the slide wall and dad’s leg. Twisted and snapped her bone. Luckily there’s a children’s hospital close by. Still a positive memory overall for them. They loved how there was a pile of cardboard for use and the slides have drops so it was very exciting. Once you get going you’re on the ride til the end. And the neighborhood and park itself is really adorable. A true gem.

Deborrah Santillan: What a Lovely Day 😍🤩

L Dilley: Super cool slide and community garden. It's closed on Mondays though. They put gates up so you can't use the slides.

Greg Groeneveld: It's a long concrete slide with a nice view. Why not? Bring cardboard to sit on.

Jenny Lie: Super funny. If you walk there from Castro station you can also take a look at the beautiful area.

Tara Sosa (Tara Boo): 😝☆PARK CLOSED SUNSET-SUNRISE☆☆Signs say☆

Mudgett.33 On IG: Fun Place. Be sure to bring cardboard. Sprinkle sand at the top for extra speed. I've got scars from this place but I wear them with honor. Use the equipment as intended and you will be ok.

Adnan Khalil: Cute, tiny park! There is nothing to go out of the way for

Wally Yau: Kids love the concrete slide. Be sure to bring a card box for them to sit on.

Stefan Jon Silverman: to ponder the water and the view

Jennifer Keyes: It was beautiful!! My man went into the water !!!

Adrian Gaino: Smooth Spot

Timothy B. (Tim Bob): Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed on leash only.

Joal Brudvik: off and on rain but that didn't stop the die hard swimmers...dolphin club I'm guessing. I count 13 in the water

Alejandro A. Carlos: I had such a good time with my family there.

Kenton Kwok: Great view for fleet week

K L: The water here is very chilly all year long. Some people go swimming, but you have to be very serious to try that. Most visitors to this park are just walking through on the path between Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. This is a good place to watch special events on the bay like the 4th of July fireworks and the Blue Angels air show.

David Miro Llopis: Very safe place to swim open water.

Karen Gravereaux: where we painted 28 years ago. A lot has changed and a lot hasn't.There's fantastic views to be had, and lots of hiking. Wear sturdy shoes!

Miriam Arambula: Amazing for photos a little cold but amazing

Alvin Prasad: Nice place for tourists to take a memorable pictureRestrooms: Yes open public portal restrooms

Rahmad Jaya: Perfect timing

Selena Beers: Even on rainy days it was gorgeous. Trails aren't really marked, but it's very clear where you need to go. I didn't see any public drinking fountains or restrooms, but there were probably some up by the Holocaust Memorial. We just didn't make our way up there.

charlie compton: Very nice park, pleasant hikes overlooking San Francisco.

JP Waldron: Awesome views with allot of history

jmramos730: Great hike to Mori Point. Stunning views and some serious steep slopes out there!

F R: Great views

MK Regrah: Small park. Nothing major going on while we were there.Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly

Cin Daye: A fairly large and very natural park, as if you were walking in the forest. Well maintained with several small paths and a beautiful view in some places. Ideal to cross when arriving on Haight Street!

Mitchell Hanson: Local park next to a heavy tourist area with many thrift stores. Extremely hilly, lots of off-paved trails throughout dense brush, many natural plants, and a rigorous climb up especially from other locations nearby. I would only go with very agile individuals. This is probably not the best place for those with mobility issues or joint pain with the impact required going back downhill. Lovely view otherwise. My only wish it was groomed more thoroughly.

Joseph Krauter: The air is so clean and the views over the city and ocean are amazing

Yatin Chawathe: Lovely spot for a picnic overlooking the city

Travis Carpenter: Large and beautiful Park

Adrian Cruz: Incredibly peaceful and beautiful!

Eric Song: I thought there would be a dozen or so, but they were all in droves, so it was an amazing experience.

Timothy Neumann: It's feast or famine here. The sea lions are either sunning themselves on the platforms in the marina or they are out feeding. It's a great way to listen to them and see some of their behaviors. It's a wonderful sharing of the space between humans and wildlife.Do they matter more than humans who own the boats that are behind the breakwater? Are they equal in every way, or do they just deserve their sense of place?

Hoang Huynh: Amazing spots to see thousands of sea lions. They are just so chill sunbathing. I can spend countless hours here just watching them. It's so fun and relaxing.

Gary O’Connor: Great

Ethan Tan (Ethanyca): Great place to view sea lions just chilling in the sun.

Conrad Williams: Freaking awesome. Was lucky enough to see them during their visit.

Michael Schwaminger: For us one of the highlights in San Francisco.

Jonathan Hart: Seeing this many sea lions felt like we were in a filming of Planet Earth at some remote location! Always excitement at Pier 39

Darren: Sensational to see so many so close

Sally Johnston: They were awesome!

Luke McCann: I’ve lived in the Bay for almost 20 years and still love coming here. Yes this is a tourist attraction but it is always a ton of fun to stop by. Right now there are record number of sealions and seals here. Very entertaining, essentially barking water dogs that lay around with a few of them pushing each other off of the barges. Fun to watch and listen. You get a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge, the fishing boats coming and going, Alcatraz, and a nice view of the north side of the city as well.

Julia R: Lots of trails, beautiful views on the Bay and the ocean

Rich F: I found this park through a YouTube video a couple years ago and i finally got the chance to go check it out on 4/15/2024. I just did the 3 mile loop on the gravel the views of the bay and San Francisco were amazing! I will be back to bike up to the radio tower very soon.Restrooms: Restrooms are clean and next to the parking lot.

Aldo G: Awesome tree covered trails! Playground, bathrooms, parking, benches, map, & visitor center 🌻

Joseph Y: For the past three years, I visited this state park twice a week. They offer several different trails with varying difficulties and various vegetation and trees. At the top, you can watch downtown San Francisco, or East Bay. You can feel mystic when morning mist falls upon you. Great place to visit with friends or family! However there are few people sneak in their dogs despite displayed notices. As per park maintenance and upkeeping, men’s bathroom needs to provide working water faucet with soap dispensers.Spotted coyote again on 04/05/24.

Ramiro Garza: Always picturesque and a moderate hike up the summit with second to none views of SF and Bay

ROSARIO ALVAREZ: Lovely trails, lots of blooms! It's my local go to park to get some Zen. Bog trail is peaceful and lots birdie sounds.

Will: It would be 5 stars if not for the fact that the top of the mountain is still only open on weekends. Go back to open 7 days a week
