David: I recently had an issue with an online order from Guitar Center where I received the wrong model of a Boss Katana amp. I ordered the MKII but received the MKI instead. Despite the initial frustration and time invested, the customer service I received was proactive in ensuring the correct amp would be received in a timely manner. The sales agent was considerate in coordinating this with the team to bring about a favorable outcome.
Alan Glennon: Pleasant, helpful employees and a clean store. They usually have a couple of in-store-only deals, so--if you are into guitars--it's worth visiting occasionally to see prices that are less than posted on the guitarcenter website. Bay area Guitar Centers occasionally have high-quality used gear for good prices.
David Sadowski: Was in and out within five mins bought a pick guard, bridge and strings for my guitar and the associate that helped me was quick and efficient.
K G: The San Mateo Hillsdale Mall Guitar Center is the best one I've visited. All the guys were so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and the shop is so neat and stocked unlike the San Fran shop. They gave me a nice trade-in deal on one of my Taylors for a new one. I will drive the distance to shop here instead of the closest S.F. location. Thanks Rodney and Miguel for making me feel like a valued customer. I will definitely be back!
Casey Campbell: These guys were amazing! Long story short, had issues with another store and they caught wind of the situation and decided to step in and fix everything. My guitar plays and looks amazing now! If you are in California or looking to visit a Guitar Center, I highly suggest you forgo the others and come here!
Steven Ward: Helpful people on the sales floor. I appreciated the discount I got for buying the floor demo guitar. I will be back!
Steve S.: Well equipped musician store with wide range of instruments and accessories. Free parking.
Judy Margaret Chen: A great music instrument store in San Mateo. They have various new and used pieces on display, from guitar to drums, to pianos, speakers, and other accessories that I don’t know the name.I don’t play music, but my husband play guitars, so we tagged along with him when he wanted a new cable for his electric guitar. While he was enjoying himself in the store, my son and I explored the area. My baby was ecstatic to find small instruments his size, ukuleles and other small pieces. He had blissful time here. I guess I’ll buy him a small piece when he’s a year older to play with his father. The staff didn’t bother us at all the entire time, which is great. I would feel uncomfortable if anyone approached or looked at me when I was taking off the hanging instruments to try.
Kuldeep Misri: 00015M STREETMASTER acoustic guitar a few months ago. Even with the discount for being a display piece, it was the most expensive guitar I've purchased. But as a beginner player, I found it hard to play my regular tunes without buzzing out or damping out. My fingers hurt, and everyone just said "you need to make your fingers stronger". I have 2 other guitars, and no issues, so I knew something was off.Fortunately, when I took it into the San Mateo, CA, store, Aadith, an instrument techs, was very knowledgeable, and as candid as they come. He taught me that Martin guitars have a very high action from the factory, and needs some tuning before they're ready for use. He spent an hour over 2 different sessions adjusting and filing the nut and saddle, and tuning it patiently until everything was just perfect. Then, a couple days later, a mysterious scratch appeared on my guitar at home. None of the kids admitted to anything, and TBH, I didn't think it was them. Took it into GC and told them what happened. The manager just took it back and ordered a brand new one, and even threw in the special pricing I'd received for the "store piece". Fabulous. After it arrived, Aadith, bless his soul, did the same setup stuff all over again, spending another 2-3 sessions to tune the new one! It plays fantastic, I've had it for months, and it's one of my favorite possessions. He really is one of the nicest guys I have worked with in any capacity, for anything. Didn't charge me a dime though some of the adjustments were pretty extensive.Suffice it to say that Guitar Center has me hooked as a loyal customer. I don't think I will go anywhere else for my musical instruments.
Love Dove: We have come here for years. I think this place is fabulous! 🎸They have everything here as far as your everyday instruments. They also provide lessons here.We have bought several electric guitars, acoustic guitars, some accessories and are still enjoying them. Staff are attentive, space is pretty spacious. They also offer repairs. Definitely looking to consult with their tech guy to repair some strings and maybe clean up my dusty guitars, haven't picked them up in over a year or so. 😬I would recommend this place and check out their website. I needed a violin for my kid and had to shop on line for prices and deals and as always, Guitar Center ALWAYS comes through. 🎻
Dan Belick: My experience at Guitar Center was really good. I had an older 12 string guitar that is rather rare to sell and I got a very fair price for it. everyone I observed there was working hard and doing their best to serve the customers.
mohit hemnani: Knoice!
Jerry O'Connell: Bigg got everything you need

Dylan Ronan: This is the way a guitar store is meant to be. The staff is knowledgeable, the gear ranges from what you would want to start to some gems that you rarely find in stores for seasoned players. Not to mention the general vibe is awesome. The only drawback is I would like to be able to play more guitars without always asking the staff. Mainly because I don't like bugging them because they are so relaxed and I feel like a nuisance.
Moon Salt: Kind of hard to find but lots of antique and vintage guitars in excellent quality. Felt like I was part of a secret society upon entrance.

Matty Erickson: I was wondering if your store buys guitars. Or even appraisal. I just wanted to get a 4th opinion just so I'm sure about something. I've been there before and thought highly of your store so I know your opinion would be pretty much fact. ?
Demetrius Spearman: Really cool guy,who is very knowledgeable about his instruments.
Viraj Bangari: Lots of used classical guitars
Ellen M Kerr: A truly amazing selection of guitars and the owner really knows his stuff and has a great sense of humor. Better to make an appointment first, because it is just him there and he is busy with his internet sales.
Donald MacPherson: Authentic and mysterious
Carlos Mojica: The guitars are shiny, smooth and play well
echizera Brisa del mar.: Their stores are very nice

Evan Bateman: Great music store! It was a great experience working with people that know the business.
