Alejandra Marchán: We really enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic for the price! Highly recommended if you're visiting San Francisco and seeking a genuine local experience.Nearby activities: Excellent location, near some of the main attractions and transit.

Reid Wronski: Great happy hour prices on draft pints and small plates in a really nice cozy atmosphere close to Powell Station

Annett: We booked the Bartlett for 3 nights and didn't regret it. The price/performance ratio is right. The location is great. In less than 5 minutes you can walk to Union Square. Our room was also extremely clean. The shower was also sparkling clean. It's very spartan, but it was enough for us. The staff is very friendly. For everyone who complains about the “noise”. It's a city hotel in the middle of SF so it's never really quiet. Anyone looking for a relatively cheap and central place to stay in SF is well advised here!

James Harrison: you'll have some road noise but a cool view. At the back you look into a void with some light and fan noise. Either way it's not very noisy and I'm a light sleeper, but you're downtown in San Francisco, so it's not gonna be silent at any point.I understand most rooms have a ceiling fan, but ours didn't and unfortunately they couldn't provide one. Rooms also don't have a fridge by default but you can request one by availability, and we got one on the first day.The staff were without exception polite and helpful, sorting a few minor issues, bringing the fridge and saying hello in the mornings. The shared toilet and shower were also extremely clean and well looked after. There was never a wait in our experience but I'm not sure the hotel was that busy in November. Basic toiletries are provided in the shower. There is a shared kitchen and laundry. The kitchen lacks essential equipment, namely any kind of plate/bowl/cup/cutlery. Although it does have pans, a hob, an oven and a microwave. So you can cook the food but not eat it. I hope they spend literally $50 at IKEA round the corner to make this kitchen useful again. This was the one frustration we had.Overall a good stay and one we would recommend provided you know what you're getting. Location downtown cannot be beaten - you're a three minute walk to the cable car turntable and buses to all the major sights.

Tiffani Gutierrez: Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value

ספיר דבח: We stayed at the hotel in October 2017. When we arrived there was live music and free wine was given to the guests that was lovely and very welcoming. The hotel is very clean and the furniture is new/ renovated. It is located a walking distance to all of the major spots in the city- union square and the fisherman's wharf. The only issue we had is that the building itself is very old, therefor walls do not block noises from other rooms.

Adriano Ruopoli: Very kind staff. You can find parking within walking distance with a cost of 30 dollars per day.

Tania Bekker: Incredible and vintage hotel in the middle of San Francisco , really helpful staff members, unbelievably clean and also you can take a walk to most of the tourist locations

Jeff Mejia: . Although we didn’t get to eat at their restaurant during our stay, the menu looked incredible if you like Mediterranean food. I look forward to coming back.

Andrew Wedge: Great hotel, perfect location

Jocelyn: Location is right on the water upon Embarcadero road which leads to the piers. Absolutely enjoyed our stay thanks to Janelle! Kindest and warmest welcome I have ever received checking into a hotel. She upgraded us to a beautiful view where we could see the bridge and the bay. The room was marvelous, it was well cleaned. Janelle gave us all the information we needed as well as some lovely tips. Thanks to her our trip was easy breezy! Would 100% come back again.Safety: Doors and elevator need key cards to get throughWalkability: Other than the few stairs that lead into the lobby, there are elevators and it is quite accessible. The bell hop can take up your bags for you.Food & drinks: Around 5-7 is wine time in the lobby which is complimentary to your stay! As well as a small continental breakfast.Noteworthy details: Janelle! The lovely receptionist.

Marian Panlilio: , and a cable car station. The rooms were clean but a bit small if you would bring kids; otherwise, this would be perfect if you would spend most of the time exploring San Francisco. I had a senior citizen with me during the trip but we did not experience any issues. Price point was fair considering its location. What my companion liked was the availability of a fan and a room heater, which can cater to clients that would like a cooler and a warmer room, respectively. What I loved about the hotel were the small things actually such as the fireplace—which was somehow a sanctuary when the night wind gets cold; the vibe of the lobby and its common areas where people can just hang out, the water dispenser

T. “SHOWTIME” Terry: Always my go to hotel I like this place they keep it clean and I like to stay very helpfulWalkability: A great location to everything for a fast food and shopping and restaurants

Justina Ng: The Cartwright Hotel was recommended by a friend and we stayed here for two nights. It is reasonably priced for the location which is within walking distance from Union Square. There are plenty of food and retail options nearby, and it is a 10-minute walk to the Powell BART Station. The rooms are clean and functional. There is a ceiling fan which helps to circulate the air. The common area near the lobby has comfortable seats and a fireplace. They provide coffee and tea in the mornings and have a water dispenser. The service experience was beyond our expectations and staff like Steven and Tai went the distance to accommodate our requests, which made our stay memorable. While it is a cosy sized hotel, their hearts are big and that made all the difference. I would highly recommend the Cartwright Hotel.

Arvind Gupta: “Reasonably comfortable stay in prime location ”The property is located in prime area of San Francisco in Union Square. All important happening places are nearby. Though room size is very small but well planned storage spaces. We lived in room number 702. Would have loved it more if view would have been better. However, will recommend this for reasonably comfortable stay in prime location.Rooms: Room size is small but suitably designed with sufficient storage spaces.Nearby activities: Very close to Union Square and happening places.Safety: Safe areaWalkability: Market place and public transportation at walkable distances

Mallaury Portier: Very nice hotel, the bedding is very comfortable. The welcome is friendly and the location is perfect, close to public transport and at the same time on foot there are so many things to see.On the other hand, we stayed there for 4 nights and room service did not come to our room once during the stay.

Thomas Dappe: Hotel well located in downtown San Francisco, comfortable rooms and very nice bedding. Positive point also the bathroom, new and clean. No complaints.Rooms: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …

Shelley Clement: and Union station. Ubers to places too far or too hilly to walk in the city ran only about $10. The room was clean, roomy, and comfortable. The hotel showed amazing hospitality. This was our first visit to SF and they provided restaurant recommendations, suggestions on things to do, and even accommodated a slightly late check out free of charge to allow us to finish up an Alcatraz visit and not have to worry about driving to the Pier. The breakfast had abundant choices and the wine / nibbles in the evening was a refreshing touch. Our room refrigerator was supplied with water bottles and sparkling water at no extra charge. When we went to check out, they loaded us up with extra bottled water for the road. We stayed at 3 different hotels during our trip along the California coast. This was by far and away our favorite. Do yourself a favor and stay here !

Heather Stone: We chose this hotel because it is a nice boutique hotel in a central location. Valet parking was a great benefit.Rooms: Rooms were clean, large, and well kept.Food & drinks: Breakfast was a great amenity. Large selection.

Graham Symonds: The White Swan gave us everything we wanted from a hotel visit. Our room was large & well appointed, the staff were approachable, friendly & helpful and the public areas were pleasant. Breakfast was fine.Food & drinks: Breakfast was good quality, varied and always well stocked.Noteworthy details: The building is old and the lift characterful.

Rose Pulz: Such a quaint friendly hotel with a cosy atmosphere. Loved the 5pm happy hour! Actually loved everything about it this place. The Saff are so accommodating. I felt I had stepped back in time! In a good way. Definitely a yes from me.Nearby activities: Very close to Union Square, China Town and the Cable cars.

Niko Besnier: , contemporary bathrooms, reasonably priced. Complimentary breakfast and wine and cheese in the afternoon. Still and sparkling water in the fridge. This is a hotel that is well taken care of. One minus: the coffee is not good. Overall, highly recommended.

Birgitta Jönsson: Unfortunately a bit far from Fisherman Wharf. But the best breakfast in the US, ever!Rooms: Incredibly beautiful and romantic. Flowers, flowers, flowers. Tom a fireplace and bay window

Katie Chan: close to good restaurants and bars. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the stay included continental breakfast and wine hour, which was a bonus! The bed was pretty comfy, and the space was well maintained and stylish with a lot of retro touches that seem very SF. My only issue was that with the age of the hotel and the amount of carpeting/upholstery my allergies to dust were triggered
