S B: Nice variety of options.Recommended dishes Vegetable Pot Sticker, Bao, Pan-Fried Turnip Cake …
Daniel R: The Dumpling House is a great restaurant to eat dumplings. I have visited many times and always love to eat there.Sometimes it gets busy, but the service is usually fast.Personally, I do not like that they do not have printed menus and you can only order on your phone.Highly recommended.

Katrina Balga: but service was not great. It was just one guy serving and one guy cooking. It took forever to get my check. My tea came last. Etc. etc. 4 stars because it was genuinely good, just a bit understaffed.I got the pork dumplings
Laura Cole: . I wish I was a local, so I could come back again sooner!Vegetarian options: There are at least 3 options
maya a: Food: 5/5

Ken Roberts: I know it’s called Dumpling Specialist but I will be going back for that Shanghai Chow Mien. Oh my gosh…it was so damn good.Potstickers and soup dumplings were good too. They are not afraid to leave their potstickers in the pan. Nice contrast to the fried side vs the steamed side. The garlic vegetables were ok but not great.Definitely will go back. Also:no beer or wine.Parking: There is quite a bit of road construction so that’s made neighborhood parking a challenge. We walked a block or two but nothing too bad.
Robbie Z: , credit card has extra charge
Claire: the beef are overcooked and it tastes strange. I mainly love the broth and the veggies in the dish.Peanut noodles: never fails.Rice rolls - perfect!! Especially the vegetarians ones!! It’s very authentic Chinese. All of the dumpling dishes are amazing
Eli: dumpling specialist is absolutely remarkable. amazing dumpling skins, heavily filled bao, and spot on seasoning, paired with friendly and speedy service makes for the perfect little spot. it's a small and intimate not-too-formal setting on taraval next to a park, if one might prefer takeout. there's an extra charge for card, but they take venmo.
Muriel Mendoza: Intimate dumpling spot with standout steamed pork and cabbage dumplings and pan-fried delights. Skip the har gao and focus on the dumplings – noodles and rice are secondary here.
Kay T: Small restaurant, only 6 tables. The wait time is about 30 minutes to 60 minutes.Worth the wait and foods really taste good.Orders come pretty fast.Definitely would eat again
Corina Lange: This place offers a wide variety of dumplings, including rarer finds like fantuan, and other hot dishes at affordable prices in a conveniently located area of Sunset. The interior is small with only a few tables, but it's a cozy spot to enjoy a meal or pop in for takeout. They accept credit card but charge a 4% fee for dine-in, which is understandable. I'm really happy I found this spot and will probably return often.
Jerry: - Pan fried pork bun- Steamed pork/cabbage dumpling- Siu mai- Spring roll5/5 - These were all so so good. Spot on flavor, texture, juiciness.- Wonton in chili oil4/5 - Good but not my desired level of spice and flavor.

Fae LeDawson: Excellent food at a quiet neighborhood restaurant! Staff are helpful and there's a good selection of dumplings and other Chinese food.Parking: Parking was worse than I expected for the area, even on a weekday night. Any car larger than a Prius will struggle.Wheelchair accessibility: I don't recall there being any steps or ramps. The front doors are not powered and only one opens.
Banessa Rios: Came here on an overcast Sunday, it was pretty empty but it seems more like a takeout type of spot. Customer service was great, we started off with some hot tea, Thai tea and green beans which were perfectly crunchy and garlicky. We then got the spicy pork dumplings and pan fried pork buns.It was all great, not greasy. Glad I found this new local spot for dim sun 👍🏼Parking: Lots of street parking in front of restaurant, or at Safeway parking lot.
K L: Great restaurant for fresh handmade dumplings. They do lots of takeout business, but the dumplings taste best when they are freshly cooked, especially the soup dumplings, which you have to get at any restaurant specializing in Shanghai-style dumplings. Limited parking, but the Muni bus goes right by here and it is a short walk from the Glen Park BART station.Parking: Very limited street parking.

Tyra Nefrititi: food was good, tea is $2.5 per person… usually tea is free but not here. service was fast. portion is small. hoisin sauce was a bit to salty
Trang Nguyen: Great pork shumai and shrimp rice roll. The shrimp was marinated well
Stu Waters: Really nice place. Ambiance, food, and service were all great. The manager was sweet, brought our kids some chocolate at the end of the meal, which made their day.Kid-friendliness: They were sweet to our kids and the food options were great for kids- shrimp rolls, buns, and rice dishes.
Shen K: Please note: The address is correct, however, the directions from Google Maps will take you to the old location on Commercial St. Hopefully they will fix this soon. The restaurant is across Walter Lum PL from Portsmouth Square. So if you find the square, you are almost there. Don't go to Commercial St, it will say the restaurant is permanently closed. The food is good, but not the best. This is San Francisco after all, a city where there are more dimsum places than most other cuisines. It's not bad, but I've had better elsewhere. But it's a great place for families & large groups. The food comes very quickly so you don't have to wait long. The atmosphere is a little loud, but what Chinese restaurant isn't? This is a great place if you are from out of town & want to experience a good dimsum place in the oldest Chinatown in the US.

madalynn mendoza (maddie): i’d say definitely stop here for food, but make sure they get your order right!!!
Jeff Ho: Xiao Long Bao is a take-out only dim sum restaurant. No indoor dining. We stand on the sidewalk and eat in front of the restaurant anyways, so no biggie. The other two dim sum take-out restaurants on Clement are more busy. So, if you are in a hurry, go here. The other two places are better, but not worth me waiting another 15 minutes. Our favorite items here are the fried crab meat dim sum and their crispy shrimp egg rolls. Both are filled to the brim. The beef pancakes are good if they are fresh. We came at noon-ish and the pancake wasn't crispy anymore. Regardless, I do recommend this establishment to our community.
Nick Mimi: When on the road and working you try and eat best you can, when and where you can. This hole in the wall only takes cash, you will walk away with either a plastic bag or a container of sorts and the folks don’t have patience w/ you if you’re not quick, clear and confident in your order. Whatever…the food is worth it! It seems to all be made in house and sells off quickly which means they are producing and cooking all day as best they can to keep up GREAT value and simply good👍
N T: So freaking goooooooood!
Scott Howe: Their soup dumplings, pork buns, and gyoza style are my favorite. You won't be disappointed unless you have a small appetite.

Wook Chung: China Live is unique in many ways. You are put in this street market type of atmosphere with touristy, yet quite authentic and modern interior, loud and noisy as ever, while being served pseudo fushion Chinese food. The experience is great overall, especially right by China Town. The food is tasty in most ways. The sea bass was spot on. Some of the buns and dumplings were great. The shrimp / crab spring roll sticks were mindblowing. But also, there were some unnecessary garnishes and overly inventive twists where perfectly good classical food was over spiced or peppered. The presentation was perfect - not too gaudy and adequate to generate a sense of homeliness and small-town street market. Ingrdients are fresh. I would just hope that the chef didn't try too much to pander to tourists. For example, the Peking duck in a pocket is a fabulous idea on paper, but clearly they had pre-made it and it really was cold in the inside. Again, this isn't your classical Chinese restaurant.Service was quite hectic and dismal. Because it was a street market, food would arrive in random order by random people. You had no idea what had arrived or what hadn't, how much you had left, etc. The 8 of us were served in a genuine random way. Even till the very end, we weren't quite sure who our server was. Oh, did I mention our drinks only came out half way through the unstructured meal? Also, they put us on this 6 person table with 2 of us squeezed at the two ends where there was really no place to put your legs.Again, the atmosphere was wonderful and overall, we had a good time. The prices are quite expensive for Chinese food but then, you are paying a premium for the "gentle fusion" experience.Great place to have a date or a business meal. Will certainly return!Vegetarian options: Decent vegetarian selection across each section.Kid-friendliness: This place isn't friendly for kids. Too noisy and street/bar style.
Stephanie Curtis: We really enjoyed our food. We had the yangzhou fried rice, the spicy curry, the wings, chicken dumplings with that delicious chili broth, and the char siu crunchy buns. The shaved mango ice with sesame ice cream was sooooooo good.More than anything, we deeply appreciated our server Rafi. My husband always says, "What comes from the heart has a tendency to reach the heart." We felt Rafi's care and attention to detail. He answered our questions and made our first-time experience at China Live unforgettable. He seemed like a genuinely kind person and was absolutely the best server we've ever encountered.
Vivaan Barai: One of the best Chinese food!

Kevin S.: and it's as good as ever. They make literally zero things I don't like-- it's all so good! My fav are the Tom Yung soup dumplings and any of the Xi'an dumplings, but it's all tasty.Great with a big group, they have a ton of group seating and then you can order EVERYTHING. Drinks are great too
Ken Wong: April 2024:Stopped by for dinner and thought I should update my review. Ordered the pork dumplings, the shrimp toast and the brocollini. Everything was still very tasty here 😋. I'd come back again for more delicious food!9-28-20:They are open during the pandemic. Enjoyed delicious dumplings and noodles. The shrimp toast was one of my favorite dishes! Would get that again and again 👍.
Shaun Hennessy: Some great food, and excellent service. Not very busy when we went, but I imagine during a basketball game it could get pretty busy. I think we would have preferred a Chinatown experience over this, it was a little too modern and the basketball games all around let us know that basketball is the main focus of this area, not the food.
Mike Juarez: Holy Smokes... Our First time there ...it was Fantastic..!!! the Staff was Great and the Food was Even Better .. We right into our Food that we completely forgot to take and share photos ... We Ordered a few things off the menu and they were Delicious....So Looking forward to going Back here before Shows and Games ... CHEERS and SEMPER FIDELIS....!!!!!!

Vicky T: This is my favorite place everytime I visit Chinatown. They always have long line. The dimsum is huge and flavoring, a bit on the salty side, maybe too much msg because I was so thirsty after eating. Price is reasonable, comparing to surrounding market, it’s actually cheap. Their hagao and Chiu Chow dumpling are delicious. The shark fin dumpling is quite salty. You have to come early in the morning to get the parking. Parking in Chinatown is a nightmare.
Wai Ip: Looking for Ye ShaoyingDo you know anyone from Xiamen from Hong Kong who goes to San Francisco? If you know me, please reply
Dong Hyung Cho: Since I couldn't get used to the time difference, I went every morning at 7am and didn't have to wait. This is a great value for money house. The taste is truly excellent for the price. And, the taste is similar to what I had in Hong Kong. The taste is close to the original and does not taste like American Chinese food! Highly recommended for those who can't adjust to jet lag!
Div Manickam: Enjoyed the dim sum - chives dumpling and shumai, sesame bowl, sticky rice in lotus leafEgg tart was okay
Brett Marinoff: Food: 4/5
