He is an excellent trainer: kind, knowledgeable, motivating, willing to work with me at my level. I had just past age 60 and was unsure if I could get back into shape. I have seen amazing results in the short time I've worked with Anthony- I've lost 10 lbs, have eliminated my esophageal reflux, fit into jeans I had almost donated. During my internship I saw clients who were experienced athletes to clients who were just learning about fitness to clients going through rehabilitation. Robert Wexler: are excellent and focus on the client's needs, not some cookie cutter workout approach. Zach changes up my workout routine every 4 weeks to keep it fresh. The equipment is state of the art and updated often. Street parking is easy, and there is rarely a wait for equipment. Mike and Billy are the owners and they are present and available. Terrific place !

He is absolutely incredible. He works on your body first so you get the most out of your workout. He has built me routines for me to do on my own between our sessions. The best way to describe it is if a Pavel Tsatsouline formed a strength training facility that was also an exercise-science think tank. What Billy, Mike, and—and originally Gina—have created is amazing: a passion project which allows the best of the best trainers in the Bay Area to support each other and learn from each other, while independently training their clients. In addition, DIAKADI has created the Business Movement, which trains fitness trainers to become entrepreneurs. The world needs more organizations like DIAKADI.

Barbara Wilson: I love this gym! I was a member when I first moved to SF 7 years ago. Then I moved to another neighborhood and sadly canceled my membership. I’ve now been back in the neighborhood two years and have been a Crunch member again! The space is beautiful and I love that a movie is always on, especially if I’m doing cardio. The price is not bad and includes lots of great classes by awesome instructors. I used to hate spin, but Jake’s class made me love it. ALL of Andre’s classes I’ve taken are fabulous. You get a great workout and he’s so funny and has great energy. I’ve now been doing personal training with Lyndsay since January. I wanted to kick my strength training up a notch to feel confident on my wedding day, and I definitely did! Lyndsay is a GREAT trainer! She listened to my goals and helped me achieve them. So many people noticed the results and asked me what I had been doing. I have continued to train with her even though the wedding is over because I love our sessions so much and feel amazing after them. It’s nice feeling stronger! I highly recommend her.

Ariel: Second, and it’s the only reason I’ve knocked off a star as well as being the reason I only do spin classes here… this gym is CROWDED. I don’t even attempt to do full body workouts because it’s packed almost all the time, EXCEPT in the early morning. It’s not the gyms fault really, and it’s a wonderful thing for them, but it leaves me wanting to return to FitnessSF or consider Equinox. If either of those gyms were closer I’d pay more money to go to them because they never felt claustrophobic like this Crunch does.I do recommend this gym, though! The classes are well worth it.

8BitBlood: This gym sets a new standard for fitness fun! I travel a ton and have visited over 169 different gyms all over the world and this gym had me smiling the whole time. The blend of old theater architecture and modern fitness functionality was incredible. Kwame Lovell: They were attentive to your progress and pushed you when you needed it. I enjoyed every minute of it. The gym culture is friendly and inviting but still puts you to work! I definitely felt the difference in my cardio, conditioning and technique by the end. If you're on the fence I would highly recommend it! It's and excellent experience.

Qi Wen Emily Ma: I LOVE this gym. I’ve been a HITFIT member for almost three years now, and the community I’ve built is far beyond what I can describe with words. There are two locations, one in the Mission and one in Nob Hill. Both are amazing and I love both equally. The instructors, the quality of the classes, and the environment are what keeps me coming back. Even on bad days, my mood is lifted after taking a class. Rebecca, the wonderful human that works the front desk, makes my day EVERYDAY. She is AMAZING and makes me feel soooo welcomed. The relationships you get to build with the instructors are also incredible. They know you by name, they are so engaging, they correct your form, and they only want to help you become a better version of yourself!

They offer intense HIIT and boxing workouts, month long bootcamps for some serious conditioning.For anyone looking to level up their boxing technique, Leo's classes are a must. Maggie Stark: Great studio with intimate classes. Workouts are constantly evolving and vary from ball classes to cardiofocused to muscle building/toning. Joshua is personally my favorite instructor.

I had a few classes with Rory and it was very helpful, gave me great tips and ideas on what to focus on. And each time I saw him in the neighbourhood, it was always super friendly, asking questions about me, my job, etc. A great professional and a great person!And I have to mention Lynn, the Yoga teacher. Never was a fan of Yoga before going to her classes, but she totally changed my perspective on it, and I have made some real progresses and I love it. Her class are usually 10 people max, so she can look at everyone and give you advice/tips. And she will never hesitate to spend 10 more minutes with you after the class if you have questions.If you are looking for a place to get fit and more flexible, this is the place!

Ariella: Best gym ever! I started personal training classes to learn to weight lift. It has been such a positive experience. I highly recommend Sarah as a trainer.

Tom Scott: Although this is a woman-focused gym you might see a few men every once in a while working out with female partners. My wife and I have been going here since close to day-one and working out as a couple has been such a wonderful and bonding experience for us. Yay, muscles!

This is THE MOST supportive environment I've ever encountered in a "gym" - it is so much more than a place to work out. Given I started at 57 years of age - I was blown away by how strong I could grow with the right coach, a mindful style, a mix of work outs so one never gets bored. And I LOVE that this is such a safe environment with NO focus on restrictive eating or body size- simply a focus on being the strongest fittest and most agile/mobile you can be. Plus there are great workshops, an ability to work out solo if your trainer has some much deserved time off and a true community feel! Danielle always approaches our sessions with so much thought and planning, adapts the workout as needed, has helped me build strength and recover through medical issues, and just continually pushes me, while still being positive, supportive, and encouraging.The gym is also so cute and has special touches such as custom wall art, lots of pink, and themed change plates- all of which create such a fun and welcoming environment. I used to dislike working out, but in my several years of training here have grown to see it as an outlet- something I owe to Danielle and the really amazing community she has built here. Could not recommend this gym more!

Melissa Mahoney: I was only in SF for a few months, but I loved my time at Iron & Mettle. I have lifted in the past but had an unrelated back injury, so had stayed away for a few years, choosing bootcamp-style workouts instead. When I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted from boot camps and felt like the fast pace made me sloppy with form and aggravated my back, I decided to look for something else. I was staying near Iron & Mettle and found them on Google maps, and their women-focused, positive and friendly approach gave me the hope to try again. I started with their 3 personal training sessions which really helped me feel secure in my form. Then I moved on to group classes which have a great sense of camaraderie, are low pressure, and always focused on you doing what is safe and challenging for you, not competing with others. If I lived here I would never look for another gym! But I’m leaving SF with the confidence to keep lifting on my own, which is a place I didn’t think I’d be in in just a few months. Ali Wu: This gym is neat and prioritizes free weight training. It offers convenient access through an app, enabling you to register and handle your membership entirely online. I'm not a fan of the manual check-in process in addition to using door access. It would be more efficient to solely rely on door access for verifying membership. The manual check-in just adds unnecessary extra work.

Mulan Ramani: This gym is fantastic and Josh is amazing! I came here to find a personal trainer who could help teach me how to work with weights without injury and also help me stay accountable.I definitely found that with Josh. He's a wealth of knowledge on everything fitness related. I used to feel twinges in my knee and back when trying to lift and he showed me how to properly warm up and stretch and those all went away. I also felt myself getting stronger and more confident with different exercises.Literally one of my favorite people , but sadly I had to move away from SF. Either way highly recommend giving this gym a try!

Rachel Spatz: PowerPlay made exercising fun again! They absolutely SAVED me during the pandemic. I had just started working out again when COVID hit, so I was desperate for a way to continue making progress after all the gyms closed. Fortunately Powerplay was hosting outdoor and virtual classes. It was certainly different, but I loved it and by September, 2020 I was in the best shape of my life!Things got even better when the studio reopened in 2021 and we were able to get access to more equipment. Jenn was such a fantastic coach and trainer, and I loved taking her classes. She emphasized strength and mobility, and I loved her outlook on fitness and body confidence.I was so sad to move away from SF because it meant saying goodbye to Powerplay, but finding that community really was the kickstart I needed to start incorporating exercise into my routine. Not as a fad or a temporary thing, but as a sustainable part of my life. Thanks for everything Powerplay!!

Trainers are knowledgeable and great to work with. And the owner, Kwanua specializes in pre- and post-natal recovery & strength building.

Jeanette: Fantastic work out. I am in SF for a short time and wanted to work out. I had never tried barre before and thought it would be good to try. Instructor was friendly and welcoming. It was easy to start as a newbie. The facilities were beautiful and clean. I enjoyed the showers and locker room area. If you have experience with yoga, Pilates, or ballet it is a plus. It is not necessary though.

Michael Schinner: Flagship FiDi has surpassed my expectations. The facilities and equipment are top notch, the coaches are informative and motivational, and the athletes are friendly. Great way to start the day!

One time, I witnessed an amateur Olympic Weight lifter drop in and he was impressed by the quality of the bars especially.Flagship is similar to CrossFit but I always felt that they put more stress on warm up, stretching and safety. I always felt encouraged to take it down, substitute and recover.The staff is super friendly, very welcoming and very friendly which makes the experience even more enjoyable.It's not one of the cheaper options in SF to work out but you also get what you pay for - top notch equipment, cleanliness and service!
