F R: Love it!
Anna Brown: The BEST soulcycle in the city!! Warm, friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff all around. They went above and beyond explaining everything to me as a first timer. They made me feel so welcomed! I love them!
Steven Hsiao: Super upbeat location. Classes always filled
Kate Whitcomb: This place is having a renaissance moment and the instructors and amazing staff are to thank! Soul Cycle Castro is an incredible, welcoming workout environment for any fitness level. It’s a friendly, inclusive atmosphere that takes real investment from the home team to make happen- and they absolutely crush it! Celebrating bdays, ride number accomplishment, learning your name- you feel like family pretty quickly here. Can’t wait for another great year with this crew!
ALONSO AGILA: All the streets are beautiful, very colorful and safe.
Lauri Label: This studio is amazing! The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. I always feel safe here.Beginners are welcome and will love the class, I just highly recommend making sure to come early to set up the bike and settle in!I have never had a class I didn’t like here at SoulCycle Castro! My fav classes so far have been with Jarreau and Marissa, but you can’t go wrong with anyone. Thank you for creating this beautiful space 💛
Rachel Levy: Love taking classes here. Front desk staff and instructors are all super friendly and welcoming.
Danna Sadetsky: Castro is the the warmest, inclusive, and fun studio!
Alexandra Gambardella: Best front desk staff and instructors!!
Kira Wolpert: I have been going consistently to soulcycle Castro for almost a year now and I have such a blast every time I go! I would say my favorite instructor but they all have such fun energy and their own styles and Ive learn something different about technique from each of them. They also have their own unique DJing which really adds to the class. Devin loves his 80s throwbacks, Marissa loves her pop and rap, Joe is a TS bestie, Casey is an Odesza fan, Chris loves his EDM, Paula is always making funny comparisons of weights time like getting off the waitlist at your favorite restaurant and so much more! I’ve been to soulcycle in 4 cities and this is by far my favorite. The front desk is always so nice and helpful. Will keep coming!
Chris Witmer: Good vibes at this location and fun instructors 💪
Alexander Crisel: Best soul cycle studio hands down.
Andrew Estrada: This place is awesome!!

Andy Ng: This is my third time doing SoulCycle and my third studio, and I had a great experience. I did the NYE SoulSurvivor workout with Kamelle and they were fun, fresh, and fabulous. Never have I sweated so much during a class and felt great afterwards.Staff were friendly and I had good interactions with all of them during my time. They have plenty of lockers, four individual restrooms, and two showers stocked with towels and amenities for post-workout refreshment. Since showers are minimal, please be mindful of others and make it a quick rinse. Our class started 5 minutes late which seems to be a reoccurrence at this studio. Be mindful of this if you're planning on dropping by this location for a workout.
Anna Brown: Baylee was amazing, great atmosphere, helpful staff. Front desk was off putting and not really welcoming to me but besides that the class was amazing!
Gabrielle Garzon: Very cool
Shelby Anderson: Catherine. Camel. Sierra. Baylee.Just ride 🔥
ILIANA GUARIRAPA SHEETZ: Took a class with Garret and he was great. When I come back to SF, I’ll definitely come back to take his class. This location is beautiful as well, very clean and the front desk was very helpful.
Damien: My First Soul Ride at Union with Kamelle on Bike #27 whoop! I’m usually outside waterbiking and cycling through the city on my road bike, but this experience at Soul Cycle was fantastic. Music, choreography, fun mood lighting with expert instructors that are welcoming, fun, energetic, and got me into my happy sweaty place. I’ll be back ready for action, really soon!✔️ Friendly and informative staff✔️Clean changing area✔️Lockers to meet your junk✔️Filtered water✔️Cycling shoes and towels✔️All the latest soul gear in their boutique
Natalie: I went to the Y2K class and it was great. What I liked:The energy was incredibleThe rundown for the machine was thorough and very helpful. I felt very comfortable on the machine and on what my specific bike setup would be.I enjoyed the loud music and dark lights as I felt I could truly let go and be myself. They lent me the shoes for free for my first visit. As an added bonus, the bathrooms and showers are immaculate. I checked before and after the workout and both times there was a bathroom and a shower available. What I didn’t like:As someone with sensory issues I would have liked a warning of the lighting and volume in the room. It was truly deafeningly loud. I accustomed to it but I think it would be good practice as part of the intro for first timers.
Constance Lien: Jacq’s classes were my favorite! Loved her charisma & energy, best in town.
Chloe Becker: Amazing staff, teachers and riders! A good Cow Hollow staple.
Lily Yee: Nice facilities, great instructors, friendly staff. Luigi is awesome!

Barbara Wilson: I love this gym! I was a member when I first moved to SF 7 years ago. Then I moved to another neighborhood and sadly canceled my membership. I’ve now been back in the neighborhood two years and have been a Crunch member again! The space is beautiful and I love that a movie is always on, especially if I’m doing cardio. The price is not bad and includes lots of great classes by awesome instructors. I used to hate spin, but Jake’s class made me love it. ALL of Andre’s classes I’ve taken are fabulous. You get a great workout and he’s so funny and has great energy. I’ve now been doing personal training with Lyndsay since January. I wanted to kick my strength training up a notch to feel confident on my wedding day, and I definitely did! Lyndsay is a GREAT trainer! She listened to my goals and helped me achieve them. So many people noticed the results and asked me what I had been doing. I have continued to train with her even though the wedding is over because I love our sessions so much and feel amazing after them. It’s nice feeling stronger! I highly recommend her.
Ariel: Second, and it’s the only reason I’ve knocked off a star as well as being the reason I only do spin classes here… this gym is CROWDED. I don’t even attempt to do full body workouts because it’s packed almost all the time, EXCEPT in the early morning. It’s not the gyms fault really, and it’s a wonderful thing for them, but it leaves me wanting to return to FitnessSF or consider Equinox. If either of those gyms were closer I’d pay more money to go to them because they never felt claustrophobic like this Crunch does.I do recommend this gym, though! The classes are well worth it.
Mayra Castillo: Love this location.
Jordan Palmer: Absolutely love this gym. Beautiful atmosphere being in an old theatre, and wide range of equipment. Great trainers too! I did a session with Lyndsay and she was awesome. She helped me target weak mobility areas and gave great advice regarding my form. Super friendly too! Highly recommend
Chandan Singh Thakur: Cool gym to crush your workouts and if you’re looking for that next level personal trainer I can’t recommend Trainer Lyndsay enough, highly experienced professional and knowledgeable trainer.
Liz Uong: Highly recommend Lyndsay! She is super friendly and helpful. She listens and creates customized plans to help you. She taught me different techniques and strategies!
Aurash Shoja: I had a training session with Lindsay since my knee was bugging me and she was able to diagnose me with an IT band tightness. Overall fantastic gym and great trainer
Vijay Raavi: Highly recommend Lyndsay as a trainer! She is very friendly and knowledgable, and helped me get started with rehabbing my hip flexor injury. She is great at tailoring advice/plans to you based off your goals and has expertise across the board from mobility work to running and powerlifting. Definitely enjoyed my sessions with her and learned a lot!
Morten Harder: Exceptional gym with a wide range of equipment and a large area.Unfortunately there are no real changing rooms. There are Rituals products for body care.Free water and towels are included at a hefty price of $35 for one day.If you're here, you can take a look at it.
8BitBlood: This gym sets a new standard for fitness fun! I travel a ton and have visited over 169 different gyms all over the world and this gym had me smiling the whole time. The blend of old theater architecture and modern fitness functionality was incredible. I had to make a video about my visit.https://youtu.be/veujanA108Y?si=XIVNSmawGusSec6tAnd of course, this is a popular gym, peak times will be pretty crowded so try to visit outside of peak time if you want to enjoy the space. Don't rush your workout, take the time to check out all of the architectural details.Crunch Fitness did a great job with the layout considering the space and equipment restrictions, I had a great chest and arm workout and watched School of Rock as a cool-down.Amazing work Crunch Fitness!!!
Katherine Marotto: I absolutely loved being a member at this gym. It is such a historic place being a theater turned into a gym. It feels like the perfect, San Francisco experience. Everyone is very nice, signing up and closing my member was very easy. I'm very sad to leave Crunch and only am because I'm moving!
A: Super nice! Too bad it’s crowded most of the time
Chris E: I’ll pay you $100 to find a quality gym in any major US city that isn’t packed at 5:30 on a random Monday. Ever heard how adding an extra lane doesn’t improve traffic? This is the coolest gym I’ve ever experienced and so far everyone including the staff are chill

Foong: .Love this gym - super spacious and convenient to get to. Equipment was great, and with ample options to vary your workout as much as you'd like!
Rebecca Fedorko: Great gym, normally not very crowded, excellent variety of machines and plenty of weights. Love the yoga room for stretching after a long workout. Fantastic changing rooms, huge with a ton of room. Definitely one of the largest and nicest crunch gyms in the city.

Zelda: Cool gym with everything you need and not big crowds. Needs some AC tho
S Y: Gym is very clean, classes are fun and make me sweat, and members and people working at facility are very helpful and nice too. Shaun at front desk didn't hesitate to help me and did it with a smile. A member of the gym also helped me during class and also saw i needed help after class and helped me again. Made me feel very welcomed and especially that they didn't ignore me when I needed help.

Aditi Sharma: Been a loyal member of this gym for around 10 months, and I can't sing its praises enough! The staff here are incredibly friendly, the classes—mind-blowing! Personally, I'm obsessed with the pole class and aerial yoga. Plus, the equipment is top-notch, and the atmosphere is always buzzing with positive energy. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend!
Grant Mitchell: Cheapest gym in the Marina and not too crowded compared to other Crunch gyms in the city. Always very clean and safe environment. They just updated the floor plan which is much better for floor workouts, moving the cardio room to the 3rd floor.
Derrick Mazariego: was extremely helpful and gracious this afternoon at the Crunch fitness on chestnut street. I'm sure positive messages like this compound over time so I wanted to do my part and make sure to shed light on Aren’s great work! Thanks,Derrick Mazariego
Benyam Ephrem: . Very limited by square-footage. Close-by so am a member, but if alternatives existed I would switch. Can be much better.———————Sept. ‘23
James Tremayne: I do not go to this gym, I came in after my shift thinking I had access because I was sold on an upgraded gym membership at my home gym in Santa Rosa, because they were the ones that told me it included access to all Crunch locations. This location was not included in my plan because it is one of the few non-franchise locations. The only reason Im making this a positive review is because the manager there Aren was a great help in explaining the complicated gym plan my home gym sold me and what my options were for workouts for when I'm in San Francisco for work. He still let me in for the day for a free workout and it's clear to me he runs the place well with how clean the place is. Now I might consider going here.
Mrinal Tak: Super friendly staff.
Aaron Bosch: Great gym location. Needs more power racks.
Becoming CRNA: Good gym, conveniently located with friendly people.
Gnome Chomsky: Big shout out to Aren and Augusten for being super helpful. This facility is awesome and kept super clean. Machines are state of the art, tons of treadmills, and a massive group class exercise room… even the stretching area is decked out with everything you could want.
Zachary McCarty: Love that they stay open until 10:30, it really makes a big difference. I also appreciate that they have 2 flat and 2 incline bench presses unlike some other nearby gyms. I think this is one of better Crunches in SF overall!
