TJ Brown: I got my M-1 back in 2020 with limited experience under my belt and hadn't been on a bike since. A few months ago I felt inspired to pull the trigger on buying a bike, so I called up Evan to help jog my memory and get me comfortable riding by myself. He did that and then some. I took two lessons, and by the end of the second I felt way more confident than I ever did when I got my M-1. Evan has a super friendly vibe, but is also really professional and communicative. As a teacher he's great at meeting you wherever you're at and giving you the tools you need to hit your goals. He also has a deep knowledge of the Bay Area motorcycle scene, and will help you navigate buying your first motorcycle, should you want to do that. Awesome experience all around, would recommend to anybody.

Josh Hayden: Amazing refresher class with Brian. I’ve had my M1license for 7 years now and own a scooter but haven’t ridden a motorcycle for 4+ years now and wanted to make sure I got the basics back before purchasing my own. He quickly assessed my skill level and tailored the class to what made the most sense, even pushed me to do some more skilled turning and operations which showed me even more opportune to improve. Would highly recommend and overall an awesome experience.

nicole greenlee: I would give this 10 stars if I could. Just took my very first motorcycle lesson ever and I’m amazed. I was so incredibly nervous at the beginning and by the time we were finished a couple hours later I was buzzing with excitement!! HUGE thank you to my instructor Evan for helping me feel calm and confident on the bike. He was so patient and kind - couldn’t have imagined a better experience. Excited for my 2nd lesson soon. If you’ve ever thought to yourself ‘I bet that would be so fun I’d love to try someday’ - I am telling you try NOW. I wish I’d done this years ago.

Sean Shabbar: I highly recommend Monkey Moto School. As a new rider who took the MCT course, I still have a lot to learn. I just bought a new bike. Evan took the time to get me familiarized with my bike and taught me a number of great skills. I plan to schedule another session.

Allan Bishop: Had a session with Evan and he is without a doubt the perfect teacher. Super understanding about mistakes and insanely knowledgeable about every aspect of the ride. Also - he’s a really cool guy! Very very happy I did it.

Emily Benz: Very nice person to person actual experience! Sad to say most of SF DMV class is not user friendly, you get what you pay for. Monkey Moto is a lovely course, user friendly and beginner oriented, but the teachers are pros. If you are in need of advanced safety courses they have you in spades!!!

Scott Moody: I had taken a MSC locally & passed but just didn’t feel confident afterwards. I sent a message on the site and was able to schedule an appointment pretty quickly with Brian to get some more practice—this time on a Vespa, which was what I was hoping to buy. Brian was a great instructor. Thorough, tailored my lesson at my level, gave me tons of extra tips and advice. I felt a million times better after my lesson. I’ll definitely be back for some more lessons once I get more experience and am recommending him to friends.

Idan Mintz: Monkey Moto made it really easy to learn and build up confidence as a beginner. Evan's a great instructor with much wisdom both on and off the bike

G M: Had a great experience with Evan. He has the ability to break down the basic steps where you need to improve, explain, demonstrate and patiently work you through it all. Great teacher. Nice guy. Money well spent.

rame moore: , not just pushing you through on a conveyor belt and missing the details. He may unknowingly saved mine manytimes over, and it has been years now. Be safe and ride at your skill level.

Cristina Shaver: I took two private instruction lessons as a first-time rider and even though I was pretty nervous about learning to ride, Jason took things at exactly the right pace while keeping things fun and engaging. Jason's instruction was excellent and the feedback was spot-on, plus the weather was lovely, and I just had a great time! Now I'm really excited to start practicing!

Dr. Ray Yeung: Just spent two days with Evan back on the saddle after several years hiatus. He’s passionate about his teaching and patient yet empathetic to the struggles of being a true student to motorcycling properly. Often in life it’s not necessarily all about learning but just as much about unlearning improper techniques that result in lesser enjoyment as well as compromising the safety of yourself or others. Highly recommend!

Nick Hyland: Jason is a fantastic teacher. Everything taught was broken down in such a way that I could learn quickly and efficiently. He is a wealth of knowledge on what type of bikes and gear are best for you. Highly recommend this team.

Ryo Chiba: My wife and I were looking for safety training after recently purchasing a scooter to get around town when we found Monkey Moto. We booked a private partner lesson with Evan and had a great experience. What I enjoyed the most about the private lesson was how much time we spent actually practicing on the bikes and getting real-time feedback. Riding a scooter isn't rocket-science, but there is significant muscle memory involved in driving smoothly and safely. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a personal approach to motorcycle / scooter training.

Samson Hu: Did two sessions after taking the BRC course as a completely new rider. Not only did I learn throttle control, every exercise translated to real world situations as I found out later when I ventured outside of parking lots on my own

wajok Bill: What a great motorcycle school this is. The instructors were super nice but not in a fake way. You can tell they enjoy their job unlike the folks at MSF course. I honestly think it’s better for new riders to take this course instead of the MSF and just take the riding test at DMV.My instructor was Tuula. A super nice and badass lady with decades of riding experience. I had a great time talking to her. She explained everything as clearly as possible and gave me advices that no one told me at MSF and I’m gonna use them for the rest of my life. I can only recommend this course to people. There is not one bad thing I can say about it.

Ashley Hindman: Evan was an excellent instructor! Very personalized lessons, he helped me with general and specific concerns I had. As a first time rider, Evan helped build my confidence up and feeling good on two wheels after only 2 hours! Would definitely recommend.

jon r: I’m surprised to see the one-star reviews here, and after reading them, suspect the “scammy”problem may be with the review poster, not the instructors…I had a great experience with the SF classes, both in the classroom, and on the range at CCSF.The instructors were very professional, and from what I saw, had a good rapport with all of the students. I’ll be back for the intermediate and advanced classes. Highly recommend for any motorcyclist who wants to learn the skills and good habits to stay alive out on the streets…

Joy: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThey provide informational and hands-on courses.

Shy Lee: I failed in July 2019 and passed in September 2019.I had Kevin McGee as my instructor and he is amazing!! I wish I can have everyone I know learn from him. His method of teaching just sticks. He has a fun and personable personality. This course was the best decision that I’ve made. If you are new to the riding world or you have been riding and finally want to get legal take the course. This program is the way to go!!Be safe and ride safe!

Odaya Buta: Everything was just great! The instructions were wonderful! They were very informative, gave tons of examples from real life, and you could really feel they care about preparing you to the real ride and making you safe.

Zack Hubbard: Vallejo Beginner Course - Prep is key here. Do your homework, and make sure this is not the first time riding something with two wheels. Early is on time. On time is late. Don't be caught out. This was the first time on motorcycle for me, but but could ride a pedal bike pretty good. I enjoyed the course and feedback from the instructors. Ask questions in the classroom and on the range. The two days are so intense that you get all the jitters out of the way on day one. Just relax.

Mark Rivera (Dontbeamark): Just finished up my course and overall a great experience compared to what some reviews say, took mine in Alameda and instructors demonstrated everything in detail and timely matters, definately would recommend to anyone.

Renée Tsang: . My friend and I both had a lot of fun and really enjoyed our experience throughout this course. I have never ridden a motorcycle before and barely know how to ride a bicycle, so balance was challenging for me. Despite this, I learned a lot through the patience of the instructors Anthony and Catherine

Tokyo Mai: 🏍️ Fantastic Beginner Experience: Boosted Confidence on the RoadI recently completed the motorcycle course on April 27-28, and as someone with minimal experience, I can't emphasize enough how valuable this course was for me. Not only was it incredibly enjoyable, but it also significantly enhanced my confidence in handling a motorcycle. The instructors were the true stars of the show. Their wealth of experience was evident, and they adeptly conveyed essential knowledge while making the learning process engaging and fun. Despite my initial nerves, their clear explanations, accompanied by real-life examples, helped me grasp the do's and don'ts of motorcycle riding.Though I struggle with remembering names, one instructor stood out for me. Their engaging manner and ability to project their voice over the engine noises made every lesson crystal clear. What impressed me most was their attentiveness. They promptly addressed any errors in our riding techniques, ensuring that we steered clear of developing bad habits. My biggest takeaway from the course? Listen to the instructors. Their guidance equips you not just with the necessary skills, but also with a profound sense of safety on the road. Thanks to their dedication, I now feel more prepared than ever to hit the streets on my motorcycle. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone looking to kickstart their journey into motorcycling. I, for one, am eagerly looking forward to enrolling in future courses and honing my skills further.

Chris Sims: Loved loved loved this class. So beneficial for a first timer, quasi experienced rider, or even a seasoned rider looking for a few tips.

Geige Harless: My instructors Steve and Erin for the first day were amazing. They were great at getting me acquainted with the bike, feeling comfortable, and boosting my confidence. They were exactly what I needed for my first day riding. My instructors Dylan and Crusoe for the 2nd day were equally amazing. They took everything we learned from the first day and expanded on it. They were extremely knowledgeable and could exactly pin point my errors so I could work on them in real time. Dylan was very charismatic and made the class fun, while Crusoe was straightforward and precise. They complimented each other very well. I would definitely take the intermediate course or advanced course if any of these instructors were teaching them. Overall my experience was awesome. I’m so damn happy I took this course!

ab banks: really awesome! Tony, Q, and steve 10/10 would recommend. they keep all their promises and I feel more confident to hit the streets. plus the online course before was helpful!

Nana Wine: The experience was lit! I'm a total greenhorn, never laid hands on a motorcycle before. The instructors were fire! They were chill and their teaching method was dope! Big ups to Steve, Crusoe, and Dylan for being so rad. Much appreciated! My main vibe? Cruising on a motorcycle so can’t wait to level up and hop in on more classes down the road.

James Frieberg: , Erin

Alex Gilberd: Had an amazing weekend of training with Dillon as my instructor. Couldn’t imagine a better teacher to have for this course. He really made the experience a memorable one. Thank you!!!!!!

Frederic Alfaro: Excellent training course! Very friendly but super professional staff!Second time I’ve taken a course- and have nothing but the highest remarks for the program! Thanks again,Braap braap

adam elbeck: 👍🏽👍🏽

Ian Slye: Went here January 2023. Super great experience. It was my first time using a clutch, and everything was explained extremely clearly. I am going to get my permit as soon as my form comes in the mail. Strongly reccomend to anyone wanting to get into motorcycles safely. If I can do it at 17 then anyone can.

J.j M: The class was great! It's obvious that the team of instructors truly care about teaching and making sure you learn. I met about 6 of them in my two days and they were all fantastic! They also offer private and additional courses if interested. The mornings are cold, especially in the winter so make sure to dress warm...bonus...the morning sunrise is nice too. I definitely recommend!

David Peschard: Outstanding class, instructors knew the material but also provided me insightful tips that really made a difference in real time.I appreciated the feedback and truthfully it was not an easy class to complete and requires stamina. Elvie and Erin were so supportive and so was Tony, highly valued their comments and feedback. Relax elbows, ride smoothly and don’t get overly confident. I would recommend all three levels of riding before getting out on the road. Learned a lot!One suggestion would be to have one of the instructors lead all the riding exercises, at times I could not shift because the rider in front of me didn’t reach speed.Thank you and I look forward for an intermediate class to follow

Jamie Machado: I had ZERO experience on a motorcycle and by the first day of behind the wheel class I was riding!! Great course! It’s a lot to take in but the instructors were very patient, friendly and knowledgeable! Dylan and Tony were awesome!! They had great chemistry and made the course fun!! Tony is super supportive and encouraging and Dylan can be hard on you but when he praises you, you know you did a good job! Love the enthusiasm of those two. Will definitely sign up for the intermediate class in the future.

Axel Rios: Great course!!! Amazing instructors and very professional as well as patient with the exercises.Thank you guys!

Alberto Estevez: Instructor was very helpful and knowledgeable about how to teach us the skills to keep us safe. Tony was very engaging and kept our attention on the important aspects of our activities that day.

yasmine Cisneros: The experience was overall very fun, I enjoyed taking the class over the past weekend. My instructor was very patient and was available at any time during the hands on training to answer questions that we had. She always gave clear and detailed instructions and even demonstrated herself a few of the exercises that we did. Overall 10/10 experience, highly recommended for beginners like myself
