Ogust Mac': Nice place to see San Francisco.
Andy Long: The San Francisco Art Institute Was Featured on the Video game Life is Strange The Dark Room
Ben Schaeffer: SFAI was "top of the list" for me when I was applying to grad schools after graduating from Hampshire College back in the Fall of 1998. It was in my top three grad schools, after Yale & UC Berkeley. If I hadn't gotten an opportunity to attend an Ivy League graduate program -- I most likely would have been at SFAI, NO DOUBT! Moved out to the Bay Area in 2004 ANYWAY after I finished grad school back east, but man, would I have LOVED to start my life out here in the Bay Area via grad school.
Jo V: Very large building with weekend exhibitions and events. It’s well located next to the harbour. It’s very busy over the weekend with lots of people walking around! I went when there was a local arts and crafts exhibition, well organised and many many vendors.
Faraz: Loved the buildings, views, and the vibe.
eva gartnerova: Beautiful building and architecture. Famous for its mural from Diego Riviera. The roof top has amazing views for your morning coffee or afternoon snacks and chill. You can explore the building and it’s beautiful corners. We were lucky to see some students temporary exhibitions. 🎨💙
ant bee: took some art classes in the summer here when first Real World on MTV in first season. I had managed to make friends we'd eat lunch together. We saw slides on art. I enjoyed sketching the scenes fast to keep up. Its near the Espirit owners home
Mick: Amazing building and art. The Diego Rivera mural is awesome and the old as well as more modern architecture is incredible!
Izzy: Everything about the board for this school needs reformation, I’m happy to say I’m going back this fall for studio classes once more and putting my best foot forward as I come back from some having a newfound agoraphobia. Sfai is a conceptual art school that’s excellent at healing the students when enough support is present. I am looking forward to the future and showing up for myself as one of the students who never wanted to leave in the first place. I’m the luckiest bleep alive. And I will create even more art.

Karime Fernandez: I think it's a waste of facilities. My daughter attends ballet classes only one day a week and it seems empty. I think they could increase more classes, both art and ballet.

Ying Jiang: I’ve taken few classes at Clay by the Bay, the Advance tableware and surface design with Crimson is extremely fun 🤩 In the class you will get to learn techniques like sgraffito, Mishima, annnnd you will get to make a teapot!!Highly recommend CBTB and Crimson’s class~
Laurel Bonsack: I have been taking classes here for over a year and have loved every second. Crimson, Todd and Chris are incredibly knowledgable and gracious teachers. The community is welcoming and everyone encourages asking questions and learning new techniques. The class prices are worth it because you can access open studio hours 7 days a week -- so its up to you to get your money's worth. This place has become my second home!
Jason Bakhshi: 6 week Intro class was awesome. Super fun way to learn a new skill or add a creative outlet to your week. I had Crimson as my instructor and she was awesome: walking us through basics, patient and flexible when I needed help, and just a cool person with great energy. Will be taking another class in the future.
Barbara Smith: at Clay by the Bay and love it! The Next Steps with Crimson was fantastic and she is just the best! She is so helpful, kind and gives you a lot of great advice. Her attitude made the whole class be much more friendly and fun than past classes which made it super fun. She clearly loves what she does and it shows in her energy! Highly recommend CBTB and definitely try to take a class with Crimson!
Kayla-Leigh Coetzee: Love this studio! Been going for months! Recently taken my next step classes with Crimson, she is really patient and encourages being creative and trying new things!
Julia Eger: I’ve taken two 6-week classes at Clay by the Bay, and it’s been a wonderful experience. The instructors are thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable. I seriously look forward to class as the highlight of my week. Also, getting to go into the studio outside of class time is also a huge perk because it’s such a positive environment. Crimson is an incredible teacher and brings such great energy to her craft and her students.
Alexandria Aris: My boyfriend and I went to our first ceramics class on 10/21/23 and it was such a great experience. Nikki and Emma are wonderful instructors and made the class so much fun. They guided us through molding, shaping, and designing our pieces with ease and honestly, everyone in the class was so nice and it was a great vibe. We will definitely be coming back!!
Katie McMurray: Love love love CBTB!! Crimson, Eleanor, and the gang are so helpful and kind — so patient with me and my 1000 questions! Highly recommend!!
Fischer D Heimburger: Huge thank you to Crimson and Ricky!! They were spectacular and so fun to learn with!
Miranda Fornaro: This studio is fantastic for beginners - to all levels. Highly recommend signing up for Crimson's classes especially if your brand new to the ceramics world like me. She's incredibly patient, kind, and so talented. I wish I could cancel my summer plans just to keep taking her classes. Can't wait until the opportunity arises to come back! A word to the wise take advantage of the open studio hours!! More opportunity to make tons of pieces and build on your skills. Go sign up it's worth every penny!
Paige S: I took intro to pottery with Crimson and highly recommend it! Crimson was very patient and encouraging. She was happy to answer any questions and focuses a lot on the decorating stage in pottery which was fun to learn about. She also seemed genuinely interested in making sure everyone had a great experience. In general I have found the studio to be a great environment, every was is super helpful for beginners like me.
Zoe Kirschenbaum: Had a great time in my beginner wheel class all thanks to the best instructor ever - Crimson will be back again soon!

J K: I freaking love this place. It's awesomely large and a really, really nice building to have an art school in. The classes are cool and eclectic and I always find an interesting class. The only teacher I've had is Maggie when I took an art class with my bebe. She's really talented and patient. We always have fun when we go here! Occasionally they have open house days like the spring fling and Guillermo's birthday party. I recommend this place to everyone! Solid 5!!!

don davis: Nice, very interesting art, beautiful music and singing, and dancers.
Rebeca Garcia-Gonzalez: I have known the Art Center since I came to the East Bay in 2005. It is a community treasure, holding more than 12 free exhibitions per year, offering hundreds of affordable art classes, and teaching art to public school children and youth in West Contra Costa. Its staff is friendly and community oriented. If you're in the area, drop by and support it. All non-profit art centers need our help these days.
Renee Green: Richmond California Art Museum
Susan Adamé: This place is a treasure! They have great world class exhibitions in the gallery and great classes. Asset to the Bay Area!
