SF2TOKYO: You get what you pay for, and at this place, you'll be paying up.I've been wanting to try this place since it first opened in San Mateo. Now, I finally got my chance in the SF location.First and foremost, 100% authentic Japanese. 100% fresh noodles made from scratch in-house.Tastes just as good as the stuff I get in Tokyo. It was amazing how the taste of the noodles and broth brought me back to Japan. You will pay a lot, but the price for authentic Japanese tsukemen in The Bay Area is worth it.Don't waste your time with the ramen. This place is known for tsukemen, so order it.It made me sad to see everyone around me ordering ramen. They're really missing out.I don't see myself coming back for a while because of the high price tag, but hoping this place lasts for a long long time. One last thing of note:This restaurant should be in Japantown. Not amongst the hipster dbags of The Mission.Parking: Good luck with finding parking.
Yuta Higuchi: Tsukemen was good.Kaedama takes a bit of time, 7-10min, so if you’re hungry and planning to eat another round of noodles, you might want to order kaedama at the same time instead of ordering them once you’re done with the first bowl. There will be a 4% fee added to the bill.
Katarina Stein: but with a good texture and chew. We all added the egg which was excellent! I feel however it shouldn’t be an add on and just included. It was great nonetheless. For dessert we had the taro donut, there was way more ice cream than donut, so it could have been a little bit more proportionate but the taste was very good and it was still enough for the three of us to share!
Matthew Gantz: Taishoken SF is a solid spot for ramen and izakaya-style appetizer dishes. It is also a decently large space for the area. I was able to make a reservation for 15 people and we were able to be seated at one very long table comfortably without impacting other customers. The service was very solid and fast. The food was all great, from the salads, to the sushi, to the actual ramen.
Yuki Kakegawa: Taishoken's SF location in Mission, like its San Mateo counterpart, is a gem. Consistently serving top-quality, tasty ramen, they never disappoint. We tried their Tsukemen, Spicy ramen, and Tuna tartare—all hits. The Samurai mojito was superb, refreshing yet delicious. The staff is kind and friendly, and the vibes are cool and modern. My favorite ramen spot to go!
T'Andre White: for dipping and they’ll top it off with hot water in the end to thin out the broth and for more enjoyment. The calamari is seasoned delicious and extra crispy. They’re mostly all tentacles
Anna Oh: Top 3 ramen places in SF.The yuzu strawberryade is great. A bright sweet yuzu punch.Got the regular tonkotsu ramen. Super rich and tasty. Good portion size. But the real star is definitely the dipping ramen.

김솜다: I added tendon to rice noodles and ate a roll with egg.The amount of meat was basically huge, and the added meat was chewy and the soup had a deep flavor! The roll didn't have a special taste, but the meat inside wasn't tough and the seasoning was just right, and there were plenty of vegetables, so it was nice to chew!!👍
개미요정: A place where pho and bun cha are better than in Vietnam! In particular, the buncha is absolutely delicious and the rice noodles taste just like the ones I had in Korea! no see. The owner is so friendly and the staff are all friendly. This is the top 1 food line I ate in San Fran.
Eunju Tae: I’ve been going this place over 4 years now. It’s the best Vietnamese restaurant in the city and their pho is just amazing! I tried lots of different menus there and were all good. The owner and all staffs are super friendly and attentive! If you’re looking for some authentic and amazing Vietnamese food with reasonable price in the city, this is the place! I can be very picky and strict with Asian food so you can trust me!
Jan Beranek: I habe been coming to Tin for years. This place has consistently the best pho ever. I like the Pho Bo with the add-ons the best.

Jireh1Delta: Ly's Vietnamese Cuisine in San Francisco is a true gem that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure every need was met, from recommending dishes to promptly refilling our drinks. Now, let's talk about the menu - absolutely divine! The 5 spice chicken was a flavor explosion, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The beef satay pho was a comforting bowl of goodness, with tender beef slices and aromatic broth that warmed the soul. And the potstickers were crispy on the outside, yet bursting with savory filling on the inside, leaving us craving for more.As for the ambiance, it was simply enchanting. The cozy yet elegant décor created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Soft lighting and tasteful decorations added to the charm of the restaurant, making it the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.Overall, Ly's Vietnamese Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional Vietnamese food served with unparalleled service and in a delightful ambiance. It's no wonder this restaurant has become a beloved favorite among locals and visitors alike. Five stars all around!
Jireh M: Absolutely stellar experience at Ly's Vietnamese Cuisine! I visited with two friends after a trusted recommendation from another very good friend, and it exceeded all expectations. The food was simply incredible - each dish bursting with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. The service was equally outstanding; attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the whole experience, with a cozy and vibrant feel that made us all feel right at home. Ly's Vietnamese Cuisine is now our go-to spot for a fantastic meal. Highly recommended!

K Q: I wanted to go to Haiji Noodle House with my parents during the Spring Festival.Helpless shopkeepers take a breakWent to this place instead.Tastes as delicious as everWe ordered the signature powder and Vietnamese coffeevery satisfiedRice noodle soup is piping hot and deliciousThe rice noodles are not ordinary rice noodlesVery soft and waxy but with a bit of toughnessThe beef offal is cooked very lazily and is also suitable for the elderlyThe coffee is classic black coffee with coconut milk
Kevin Jang: Plenty of food and delicious. It opens at 8 a.m., so it’s easy to use.Beware of homeless people.
brandyy skye: 🍜 Consistently de-lish! The broth here is spectacular and has been for, at least, the last 8 years. The neighborhood might be gross and rough, but that has nothing to do with the greatness within. It's worth it, 💯 my usual is small #13 with egg noodles and if I am in a different mood, the fresh spring rolls. The crepe is also bangin'!thưởng thức

Kasey Chang: 🥣 with a drink is now almost 20 without adding tip. But it is a large bowl of pho with every type of beef inside. And be sure to try their beef stew pho which is a very different flavor profile. And bring next to the Portsmouth Square garage parking is not a problem. Just don't expect free parking
Natalie Tran: During our staying at Hilton and recovering from a cold, we had a craving for soup. Pho was the obvious choice. Based on the great reviews, we decided to visit Golden Star, and wow, it was awesome. Our order included the House Special Beef Pho and the Five Spice Chicken and Imperial Rolls Rice Plate. And yes, we added a fried egg; wouldn’t you? The flavors in each dish were spot on and the fast and friendly service elevated the experience for me. Vietnamese food is my comfort food and this place nails it.
Cory Fosco: Very friendly staff. They were initially unsure about my wife’s guide dog, but once they understood her role and the importance of her service, they were very accommodating. It was the first time they experienced having a guide dog in the restaurant. The food was very tasty and it came out quickly. This was a recommendation from a few locals in the neighborhood and we are grateful for the suggestion.
Dean Johnson-Rivera: By their own standards, this place is doing a good job. I found it a little overbearing, but I'll admit, part of what comforts me about Vietnamese restaurants is being left alone. I was not. I was even given instructions about how to order next time! One person working there seemed concerned I ate only half my bun bo hue, but I truly ate all I could and then some, it was just a lot for me. I think $20 is a lot for pho, but I was fine with that, as I was expecting it. I do wish the bun bo hue came with a pork hock, but the broth and the beef were so refined, that is not a complaint. More pork blood would be nice... but, I think they have perfected what it is that they do, which is all I ever want, personally.Would go back. They seem to foster loyalty; I can see why. They're very welcoming, and the food is comforting, as someone who grew up on SFV phoGot bun bo hue because it looked like everyone else did. Was happy with that choice. All the food looked pretty good.
Jackson Gerard: Man the beef pho here I can legitimately say is the best pho I have ever had. The 5 spice chicken is similarly extremely good. The broth is filled with so much condensed flavor it’s hard to describe. Service wise my experience was just average, but granted they are typically very busy I wouldn’t hold it against them. Def give them a shot!

Lee Lipps: W brought me here. He said it was his favorite spot in San Francisco. He gifted me a sand dollar he had found. I put it on the table. We shared Five Spice BBQ chicken and Special Beef Phở. everything tasted so good. desire is a mouth. I thought, this is my favorite spot in San Francisco. We left. I forgot the gifted sand dollar on the table, not because I didn't cherish the object, but because I forget things often. Whole things. I called the next day to see if they had it. I thought there is absolutely no way they will have it. They had it. I walked to retrieve it. A man greeted me and so genuinely apologized for accidently breaking the sand dollar while they cleaned the table. I said, I just can't believe you have it. He opened a drawer and handed it to me. He had gathered and kept every small, fractured piece in saran wrap. Every piece of sand. And I thought, these are my favorite people in San Francisco.
Hilary Wilkerson: but the food and service easily make up for it. I always recommend this place to friends looking for good pho in SF.Parking: Metered parking
Joy Wankowski: *NOT CLOSED THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE UPDATING*This place is basically a second home to me. Comfortable food, and even a more comfortable atmosphere created by the workers. For years I’ve been coming here and hopefully for years I will continue!
Elaine Lee: Came here for a nice quiet lunch despite the loudness of the farmers market outside. Street parking around this time is always difficult. We had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was strong. Lemongrass pork chop was moist and also had good char. Special pho was good. Broth still felt clean.
Jingyi Wang: Still thinking about this charbroiled pork with garlic noodle … I’m a noodle person anyway so this was probably rigged from the start but. So good
Matty B: Both the 5-Spice Chicken and Charbroiled Pork were delicious, and you get a pretty decent portion of noodles and meat. Great delivery option.Recommended dishes Grilled Chicken Imperial Roll Vermicelli, Imperial Rolls, Garlic Noodles with 5 Spice Chicken …
Arthur Wron: Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend the 5 spice chicken rice plate. I hope to come back here after their family vacation. From the 7th to the 24th, they're going to be closed, but I'll be sure to come back the second they open back up.
Lucas: Got the garlic noodles with 5 spice chicken and imperial rollsNoodles were cooked well, but quite bland. I would have liked to see an option for saucier, more garlicky garlic noodlesImperial rolls were solid, very taro forwardChicken thigh was excellent. Crispy skin, moist cook.Excellent service. I wouldn't go out of my way for this, but with their reasonable prices, I'd stop by if/when I'm in the area
Amelia “Millie” Heiner: I would do anything for their lemongrass beef 😭💞great vermicelli bowls, garlic noodles, and endless green tea too!

Chris Baker: As part of my new year resolution, I am going out of my comfort zone and trying new things. Today, I finally tried Kim Son. I live in the neighborhood and walked to the restaurant. They were at full capacity but quickly greeted me as I entered. I asked to place a takeout order and was given a menu. I decided on the #3 Beef Pho. I was quoted a 10 minute wait for my food. I waited outside and checked out the Balboa Theater a few doors down. I returned in exactly 10 minutes, and my order was just being placed near the register. I'm very impressed with the promptness considering how busy the dining room appeared. The staff member was very nice and welcoming. A short walk home and I unpacked my order. The broth was in a large contained, there was a small bag of bean sprouts with sprigs of basil, jalapeños and packets of hoison sauce, and finally a takeout container that held the thinly sliced beef, noodles, and freshly chopped spring onions and cilantro. I combined everything in a large bowl and indulged in a very flavorful meal that left me full and smiling. I will definitely be trying more of their many offerings in the near future. A great meal and experience to start off the new year!
Nataliia “NSH” Chernysh: I was planning to come here several times and ended up here today. So far this place is the best among all that I have visited as a lover of Vietnamese soups. There was such a place on Irving, but after 35 years of business, it closed. And so I found the same quiet, unobtrusive place with good food. Look at this thick, flavorful soup - it's very good! I recommend.
Kai C: and tasty broth. Definitely will come back to try out other dishes that all look delicious. The server was attentive and just have a very homy vibe 😀. If you are in this neighborhood, you should give this place a try. 🍜👍🏼💯🤩☺️
Joshua Yuan: Not many pho places around here so I was really happy to find this spot. Their serving sizes are hefty and food doesn't take a long time to come out. The imperial rolls were sooo good and crispy and flavorful. The pho was pretty standard. 4* review because there were a lot of flies flying around bothering us during our meal :(. I'd come back though!

Martin Wasiak: Wow wow.The sandwich with the dip was beautiful, the portion was very generous, and tasted excellent. Also got the pizza which beat my expectations as I wouldn't imagine that such ingredients would come together so well.Your best bet is to order out of your comfort zone, as there isn't a better place to risk trying something new.The drinks were also equally tasty and beautiful.Tip: if you get the drink served in the coconut shell, you can take it with you to go. You could also add any other things into your container! 😎
Sylvie Gil: Lily on Clement was just a blast. Delicious 3 course meal for restaurant week. we loved the Vietnamese carpaccio with the bone marrow, classic turmeric fried catfish, jackfruit pizza, and the BBQ porc, we can’t wait to come back for the duck confit spring rolls.!!And thanks to the chef for visiting our table.
Karolline Maciel Mariano: Outstanding, creative, flavorful food! Me and my partner dined here during SF restaurant week and the experience was nothing short of amazing! From the appetizers, to the entree, all the way to the dessert, each dish had a unique explosion of delicious flavors in my mouth. We had the beef pho, jackfruit pizza, chow mein, cauliflower curry, creme brulee and bread pudding. New favorite spot in town!

Leanne Wong: If you’re craving comfort food - come here! Their dishes are simple and very comforting to eat. The braised duck falls off the bone so easily and the egg noodles are well seasoned. The soup compliments it really well as a palate cleanser. We also tried the seafood ho fun noodle soup and that was good as well. The fish balls were definitely made in-house and were just the right bounciness.
Marisa Chentakul: The warm soymilk is a must!!!!
Vicky Vuong: .I did wish there were some green vegetables that came with the dishes. You also get an option to have complimentary soy milk hot or cold with your meal, which was pretty nice! The restaurant is quite packed for lunch. Luckily today we went for a late lunch and got a table right away. The restaurant is clean and staff are nice and efficient.Prices are pretty decent and the portion size filled us up. Would recommend.
Nat awee: was absolutely delicious. Must try dish if ever decide to give this shop a chance.Fish cake wasn't the greatest. They have a complimentary soy milk and it was very good! Very traditional.Workers were super friendly and family owned vibe. Will have to come back next time to try out their other sorts of noodle

norris tran: Fish Cakes, fresh soy milk, and Hu Tieu. Hủ tiếu or Hủ tíu is a dish eaten in Vietnam as breakfast. It may be served either as a soup or dry with no broth. This is the only place I know of on this side of the city that serves a good Hu Tieu outside Hai Ky in the tenderloin and the locals know this as well which is why thisThe staff is friendly and attentive however the service can drag if it gets crowded, especially at lunchtime on the weekends with many locals coming for the large portions, comforting flavors, and great value they offer here.Overall, an excellent place to enjoy Chinese-Vietnamese comfort food on Noriega Street.

Jingyi Wang: Really FAST service, and everything well-flavored. Roasted pork bowl, roasted duck banh mi, thai iced tea ++. Briefly wished the bowl had more noodle but it was just sitting at the bottom. I love fish sauce
David Crisler: Love this humble little unassuming place! Got the tofu banh mi and it was excellent. Very fresh and flavorful and the baguette was nice and crispy on the outside. Prices were reasonable too! Nice ladies behind the counter. Simple menu. Very casual.Vegetarian options: Tofu option available instead of meat.

My friend got the chicken curry and liked it as well. They are short staffed, but we didn't have to wait long at all. Overall, very good experience for a unassuming little restaurant.Edit:Visited the new location and it's so much better than it was. More spacious, modern looking, cool looking bar, etc. They did a great job upgrading. As for the food, well, what can I say? it's flippin' awesome, that's what.I had the Lamb curry, which is marinated over night to remove whatever gaminess there could be, it's super tender and the curry is great. Also had the new on the menu chicken wings, and those are heavenly. Not hot, not too sweet, just right. You can add some of the homemade hot sauce if you wish, although that thing has a pretty decent kick.Lastly, I had the

Peggy Chung: This place is such a gem. It has a cute casual vibe inside and the warmest people working the restaurant. The gentleman who greeted us and offered great food suggestions told us they’ve been in business for 41 years. When the food arrived, it was the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever eaten and I grew up in the South Bay. Super fresh, large portions, and the flavors all go well together. Very very tender chicken. Will definitely be back
