M B: I was here in 2021 and have returned to get a tooth evaluated. 5 stars once again. The medical assistants were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Updating my insurance was a breeze and I didn’t have to fill out a new form- just review and sign the old one! Dr. Fateh explained everything to me and had patience and also honesty. He said he didn’t want to perform a procedure if the problem turned out to be an endodontic problem- so he referred me to see a specialist first to rule that out. The referral was quick and they even sent over insurance info. I hope I can get further treated here I feel safe and taken care of.

During the pandemic my oral health issues seriously escalated as I hadn't had a proper cleaning in 2 years by the time I finally found myself back in a dentist's chair. They immediately sent me to Dr. Temlock to treat my advanced periodontitis. I was so lucky to get that referral and become under his excellent care. He guided me through an intense overhaul of my mouth with osseous surgery and tons of bone grafts with ease. My healing went so smoothly. And, I only needed ibuprofen! His bedside manner is as impeccable as the quality of his work. I have never had another dental professional take so much time to reassure, explain things, and listen as deeply as he does. I have complete trust in him and his advice. 2 years later and my mouth is like a completely different mouth, his work has held up wonderfully.Due to injury he was unable to practice for a while so I had to go see another periodontist. It was like night and day- I came running back to Dr. Temlock as soon as I saw he was back in business! I am so thankful that he is doing this work and that I can continue to be a client of his.

Dr. Temlock is one of the kindest humans you’ll ever meet, and he really cares about his patients. He never pushed me towards a procedure unless it was absolutely necessary, and for each one, I had multiple appointments where he walked me through the prep, surgery, and recovery to make sure I was completely comfortable, informed, and prepared. I’ve met with other perios and haven’t come across another that holds your hand every step of the way like that. Dr. Temlock has grafted over hard-to-reach teeth in the back of my mouth, and teeth front and center, and all surgeries have been extremely successful and look great – you’d never know I had the procedure done. His team is also incredibly nice and responsive. Really, really hope that I’m done with these surgeries, but if I have to do it again, it’ll be with Dr. Temlock.

All of the periodontists that were listed under my insurance, United Healthcare, had low reviews and I decided with a surgery this serious I needed to go with a periodontist that is credible and that I could trust. After my procedure, I was in pain for ~7 days but the pain meds I was prescribed by Dr. Temlock helped greatly with that. My results 3 weeks post-op are incredible and I cannot recommend Dr. Temlock more.

Maria Cammarata: As a newcomer to the Bay Area, having recently relocated from the east coast, I found it difficult to find physicians and dentists that provided the level of care I was used to. Through recommendations, I was referred to Dr. Alec Temlock and his practice in downtown San Francisco.Given that I am prone to extensive plaque accumulations, I need to have four cleanings a year. I have extremely sensitive gums and so deep cleanings tend to be very painful for me unless my gums are anesthetized. At Dr. Temlock’s practice, the dental hygienists have the lightest touch that I have found – so light in fact that I only need numbing gel to get through the cleanings. The dental hygienists are thoughtful and because they know how sensitive my gums are, continually stop throughout the cleaning to ask how I’m feeling and to see if I’m experiencing any pain. They are truly very caring professionals.After each cleaning, Dr. Temlock examines my gums and measures the amount of gum loss. I am always very apprehensive of this part of the examination because I know that maybe I could’ve done better with my home cleanings. But Dr. Temlock has a very reassuring ‘can do’ attitude and approach. He takes the time to praise me for the gum work that I do at home and he reinforces the fact that if I keep up the good work, I won’t need gum surgery any time soon. That alone is the inspiration that I need to continue my lengthy daily routines at home! Dr. Temlock is very engaging and puts you at ease right away with his great energetic smile. I especially like that you receive a follow up call the next day from one of his caring staff members – Lindsey, Miriam, Melissa or Sandra - to check in on you and to make sure you are feeling alright. The practice is very accessible by BART and the office is bright and has a nice open feel to it.All told, I am extremely pleased with the level of service that I receive from Dr. Temlock and his staff and recommend him without hesitation.
