Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine: what do users think?

Be Like Neel: One of the fancier Thai restaurants in the city! Lovely ambience with chic decor. We ordered Drunken Noodles which was spicy - definitely must try. Also tried the thai fried rice and the spicy eggplant - also highly recommended. The eggplants were soft, slightly spicy but also had a hint of sweetness. I think the best part was the whole coconuts that they serve. Priced on the higher end at $8.5 a piece, it is definitely expensive but worth it. I personally love Thai coconuts and have recently been addicted to the coconut water by Harmless Harvest. If you like this coconut water, these are thai coconuts and are also being served by Farmhouse Thai Kitchen. I loved it so much that I ended up ordering 2 coconuts. The coconut meat was soft and tender and went perfectly to mellow things down after eating the spicy drunken noodles

Lance Mellon: Very good

Cari Campbell: salmon green curry was delicious and the eggplant was surprisingly amazing, I dont think ive ever thought about eggplant and it was so good absolutely delicious

Kevin Davila: Recommended by a friend, he told me their Thai time wings, gra pow or ka prow are addicting, but i decided to get their Green Fried Rice. I was not disappointed! Don’t know if all their portions are like their fried rice but they gave so much, that i only ate half of it for lunch & the other half for dinner. I’ll definitely be coming back to this place to try their other dishes! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Thai Food.

Christina S: Be prepared no more dine in. They are take out only now. Makes sense as it has a small space. Still love coming here.

Enrique Schmitt: The Tom Yum soup was delicious, I also good the drunken noodles which were good but I didn’t really like that they used dried basil flakes instead of fresh basil. However it seems like this place is family owned and operated so let’s support them.Recommended dishes Tom Yum …

Ted On State: Bangkok Street is fantastic! The Wagyu Street Rice and Green Beans with Crispy Pork Belly are my favorites. The Mango Sticky Rice is just like in Bangkok. The service is very good, and the new renovation looks great. Love this place! The Pad See Ew, the Green Curry, and the Fish Cakes are great here as well!Kid-friendliness: Cute plate setting for kids

Jack Hammang: I had the Thai eggplant basil with tofu and a side of rice. It was super tasty. No on read here at 12 on a Sunday which was surprising, but that meant better service for me. Was only there for about 30 mins. Inside has a bunch of american thai ads from the 60s.Vegetarian options: They have several vegan options, I had the eggplant basil 👍👍

Ken Tien: Food is good, but service is meh - that's how you know the food is good.

Mrunal Gandhi: Food is amazing and flavorful but the portion sizes feel like they have decreased since their recent rebrand.Ton of vegetarian and vegan options if you ask for no fish sauce, oyster sauce, and shrimp paste.

Maricela Valencia: I stopped by Khan Soi to pick up some lunch to go. Having never tried their dishes before I just ordered one item, Pad Thai. When I opened the box I could tell that the food was going to be delicious. As another review commented, their food is beautifully prepared and full of nuanced flavor. I’ll be back to try their other options. I told everyone at work about Khan Soi as they deserve the business. They’ll definitely have mine.

Shona Strodder: Spicy eggplant with Basil was so delicious! A good portion for the price and spice was just right. Chicken was clean and cooked well. This dish is pungent and sweet with just enough heat. The atmosphere is cozy and warm and intimately small enough with dark lighting on red walls. Just order rice separately as it does not come with the meal automatically. Customer.service is top-tier.

Will S: I never had the Khao Soi noodle soup. Wow. All I could say quietly to my love was "this is so f__ng good! OMG" I understand there could be better somewhere else, I don't know, but what I do know is that I think about this dish almost every day. For me, one of the best noodle soups I've ever had regardless of cuisine. It does have a little kick so if you can't eat spicy food you might think it's spicy. If you can at least tolerate a modest level of spice, then you're good to go. As others have mentioned they like to ask if you want duck instead of what kind of meat which I know can influence your decision. I already knew this before coming here so I was prepared.I ordered it with tofu because I just didn't want meat. The tofu was nicely prepared and not over cooked and tough like too many places make it. That ruins a dish for me. I will probably have meat next time since I do enjoy meat.It is a delicious balance of spice, richness from coconut milk/cream, the warmth of curries, lemongrass, lime... Oh just delightful. I want sure about the noodle choice but after the first bite, I understood.Pad Thai is a nice balance, not too sweet, not overly rich, just to executed. Can't wait to come here again and bring my daughter who loves Tom Kha Gai. This is similar but for me, another level better.

Cristian Jara-Figueroa: Best Thai food I’ve had in the Bay Area. The staff is also incredibly nice and friendly. Try their catfish special, I simply couldn’t get enough of it!!!

Yohan Lejosne: Great food and great service, every time.

Peter: Amazing pad kee mao!!!Note: There is no public restroom here. Please don't feel so supremely entitled that you refuse to simply take no for an answer, and instead berate the always pleasant woman at the register when politely asked to use the nearby public restroom on Stanyan. If you do this, don't be surpised if other guests take exception to your verbal abuse of staff leading to you being embarrassed in front of your date as a direct result of your own petulance 😊.

ayush kalani: My friend and I went to Basil Thai Restaurant and Bar for SF restaurant week, and it struck a positive chord with its nice ambiance and friendly service. The restaurant itself has a contemporary feel, with sleek décor and a lively atmosphere. Our server was attentive and prompt, making sure our water glasses were always full and answering any questions we had about the extensive menu.Speaking of the menu, it's a Thai food lover's dream! They offer a wide array of dishes, from classic noodle and fried rice options to soups, salads, rice plates, and enticing snacks. Their Restaurant Week deal for $45 included a three-course meal and a drink. And that's what we tried. They also had happy hour going on when we were there, so we ordered some snacks and drinks on the side - $10 cocktails, $6 snacks, $5 beer, and $9 house wine. Here's a breakdown of some of the dishes we tried:Steamed Pork & Crab Dumplings: While the filling was flavorful, the dough was a bit thick and undercooked at first. We mentioned this to the staff, and they kindly offered to cook them a bit longer. The second attempt was better, but the dough was still a tad thicker than ideal.Thai Aguachile: This dish was a refreshing take on ceviche. Shrimp, scallops, and squid were bathed in a zesty lime marinade and served with crispy sesame rice crackers. It was a perfect light and flavorful starter.BBQ Pork Ribs: The ribs were not your typical fall-off-the-bone ribs but they were cooked well. The accompanying green papaya and carrot slaw provided a nice crunch, while the smoked tomato relish added a touch of smokiness that balanced the sweetness of the ribs.Pan-Roasted Japanese Scallops: These perfectly cooked scallops were bathed in a savory Thai XO sauce and accompanied by tempura green beans. It was delicious and beautifully presented dish.Sweet Mango & Coconut Cream Sticky Rice: This classic Thai dessert did not disappoint. The sticky rice was perfectly cooked, and the sweetness of the mango paired beautifully with the creamy coconut sauce.Thai Iced Tea: A refreshing and classic beverage to complement the meal.We also tried a few other dishes that were not on the Restaurant Week menu but were definitely worth it:Indian Flat Bread & Curry: This dish offered a delightful surprise – crispy flatbread paired with a flavorful and savory vegetable curry.Corn Fritters, Cucumber Salad 'Kao Pode Tod': These crispy fritters were a delightful textural contrast to the cool and refreshing cucumber salad.Overall, Basil Thai offers a modern take on classic Thai dishes with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. While the undercooked dumplings were a minor misstep, the friendly service, extensive menu, and delicious food make it a great choice for a fun and flavorful dining experience. Especially with the Restaurant Week deal, it's a great opportunity to try a variety of their offerings at a good value.

Ben Winston: Delicious food. Huge portions. Amazing wait staff. Great vibe.We went for the first night of SF Restaurant Week expecting small bites given the moderately low price point. Instead, each app and main course was a meal on its own. Add in a dessert and drink?! This might have been the best deal in town.I've also eaten there on a normal night - the food and drink menus were equally good. Well worth a visit.

Ingrid: and lots of fresh seafood.Three stars for the crab fried rice. Very bland and too healthy

Marianna Sumina: Our visit to Basil was quite the culinary journey. Beyond the usual offerings found at any other Thai restaurants around, this place serves dishes that break the mold. The Green Curry Roti-Taco was great, and the Larb Gai was an explosion of flavors - the perfect balance of sweet and salty. The classic Tom Kha with chicken, while good, felt like it missed a subtle note. Cheun Yaw and grilled corn were average, nothing too memorable. On the cocktail front, the Sake Leche presented an unusual yet intriguing flavor, while the Berry Tequila was a hit, brimming with deliciousness.Overall, Basil offers authentic Thai at a reasonable price, accompanied by a noteworthy drink list.I'll definitely be returning, with that Larb Gai and Berry Tequila on my mind.

Mary Griggs: and great presentation and taste. Quite a good meal. Definitely recommend.

Mike Chiu: First time trying this spot and I came during lunch time. It’s a spacious restaurant but somehow it feels kind of cozy. I ordered the two item lunch combination which comes with a side of Tom kha soup which was flavorful and aromatic, perfect for the cold weather. For the two items I got their grilled bbq chicken which came with two drum sticks that were marinated in primarily lemongrass, I thought the flavor was okay, the portion is on the smaller side and I wish they charred it more. The other item I got was the sliced beef in a salty savory sweet marinade, this one had a much more bolder flavor which goes perfectly with the fried rice they give you. I think for the amount of food you get it is a little pricey but I was satisfied overall.

Know Having-Fun: 1st visit. Stopped in before a nearby meeting. First thing I hear are the Grateful Dead is gently playing. Terrapin Station.Ordered the Pad Thai shrimp. Came quick, tasted delicious!

Gaurav Hardikar: Loved this place - authentic and reminded us of the street food we had in actual Thailand.Had the eggplant, bbq chicken, and pad Thai with prawns.I always appreciate food when the flavor is so good you don’t need to add hot sauce.

Rachel Levine Photography: Vegetarian options: They have plenty of vegetarian options. They use a huge variety of fresh and cooked vegetables and tofu throughout the menu, as well as grains.Wheelchair accessibility: You can easily wheel right into the restaurant. It’s got a spacious floor plan.

Dennys Melinte: Staff felt a little rude. I came a bit early for my pickup and they were snarky telling me that I am early.

Thomas Henri: Excellent pad thai

Tycoon Thai Restaurant: what do users think?

Jessica Marie Gutierrez Guzman: Hidden gem I’m just upset I forgot to take pictures. Everything we had was amazing. Even their hand sanitizer was the high quality one. We had Thai ice teas that were so delicious. My husband wanted shrimp tempura but they don’t have any, so she told him to get the crispy shrimp rolls. My husband couldn’t believe it was better than tempura. We had the pad Thai which was Level 10. The pork fried rice also excellent. We ordered a beef noodle soup but we were too stuffed to eat it. Definitely 👍 give this place a try. They must have had like 10 door dashes while we were here. They also have a section of Laos food with all the well known dishes. Give it a try! You won’t regret it. Give Ashley a high five 🖐️ She’s charismatic and friendly.

Lars Hartmann: Great service and food. I had the spring rolls as a starter and the red curry 🍛 with tofu as a main. 🌱 The curry has a nice, mild spiciness to it which is not too hot - just perfect. Location is not ideal as a walk-in during the evening but I never had issues with it.Recommended dishes …

Victoria P.: Tycoon has been my go-to place for delicious Thai food 3 years now. The quality and taste of their food has been consistent and I know that I will enjoy my meal every time I order here.I usually go back and forth with the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. The Pad Thai has the right amount of tanginess from the tamarind that I enjoy. The Pad See Ew has deep soy sauce flavor. It’s hard to choose sometimes which one I want.I’ve also had their fried chicken with fried rice and chicken noodle soup. The fried chicken with fried rice, that comes with a sweet and sour sauce, is really good and not that greasy. The chicken noodle soup is comforting on a cold day.I’ve also had their Laotian noodles and grilled chicken rice plate. The Laotian noodles come with a lot of veggies and the grilled chicken is a healthier alternative to the fried one without skimping on flavor. As for desserts, I’ve only had the mango sticky rice and it’s a yummy way to end any meal you get there.Service is fast and friendly. They do a lot of takeout orders but they manage to get orders done in a timely manner. The atmosphere inside is casual with a few tables for indoor dining.I’m so glad that Tycoon has survived the pandemic. If you’re in the Tenderloin and want delicious and affordable Thai food, definitely check Tycoon out.

Lucas Meaux: I come here all the time. It's definitely my favorite local joint. My favorite is their pineapple fried rice with a yellow curry, but I also like their Pad Mee Lao.Would also recommend their Papaya Salad if you're looking for something that is simultaneously very hot and very sweet. Pretty addictive imo. This place is diamond in the rough.

Allan Ng: Ordered on door dash. The food was pretty solid; we ordered the Pad Gra Tiem, thai Omelette and Kra Dook Moo Tod.The fried spareribs with the sweet and sour sauce was delicious. The beef and the omelette were more on the ordinary side but still tasty.

Sara Strzok: . Friendly and thoughtful service.

Daria Temciuc: Very nice place with veryyyyy tasty kitchen. If you like tai hood this place is for you. The portion is big ❤️
