Isabelle Boisleve: First restaurant for us in San Francisco. Excellent welcome. Our English wasn't great so the owner took the time to show us on his phone. Everything was very good. And the music is very nice.I recommend !

Gnome Chomsky: What a spectacular hidden gem. You normally have to be in the mission to get Latin food done this well. Everything on the menu was fantastic. You can tell the owner / operator absolutely cares about what comes out of the kitchen. Prices reasonable and value for what you get is 11/10. Can’t believe I’ve walked by as many times as I have and never tried it. Ty for having me and cheers!
Theo Armour: Great attention from the staff. Interesting and very tasty Colombian and Venezuelan dishes. Some nice wines.Update 02-13-2024This is an update to one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I've been coming here since 2020.Michael the proprietor has recently updated the menu. My favorite first course is the Patacones - fried green plantains with Mamo's sauce - and the Tequeños - a Venezuelan dish with fried breaded cheese. Then it gets difficult. For a main course, I could do the Arroz con Pollo, the Steak Chimichurri or the Arepas. And for your friends who are not so adventurous the MaMo's Burger still has an excellent South American flavor. On the drinks side, I usually go for a draft beer, or a rosé or malbec. For a closer I'll take a shot of their tequila soju. But tonight, I am trying something new: fresh passion fruit with a shout of rum soju. For dessert, I quite like one of the appetizers: Maduros - fried sweet plantains.Of course, I am writing this update here at MaMo. I may not be in Colombia, but I like what it feels like being here.

Mitchell Hanson: If you are nearby and want a snack empanada, I think this is a great place to choose. They have a variety of options and I chose the ground beef and veggie filled one as well as the ham and queso filled one. Both were warm, extremely flaky and delicate crust which made it enjoyable to eat and flavorful. I wish I had more of the flavors honestly. I think it would take quite a few to fill you up so I would only go with the expectation that this is either going to be a snack or that you’re gonna have to get several. They’re $6-9 apiece as well. Since this is in the ferry building, there is not seating directly nearby. You will have to find seating elsewhere to eat.
Heather Kirkpatrick: go for it! Overall, I felt they were decent.
Birgit J: Soooo delicious empanadas... we tried at least four types over three days and loved them all!Very nice staff… Prices completely ok 👍🏻

Philip Behn: These are legitimate Chilean empanadas. Not the deep-fried stuff from Argentina, but the real oven-baked empanada with organic beef from Marin County, olives, raisins and onions. Delicious!! Paula, the owner, is meticulous about ingredients and quality. And she’s super fun to talk with if you find her at her store location. Don’t be deterred by the location - this is high quality stuff. We’re huge fans!!
Prachi Gupta: Empanadas were good maybe a little costly
Cristian Jara-Figueroa: I’m Chilean, and I can vouch this place has legit authentic Chilean empanadas. I’m so happy this place is here! Eating their empanadas brought me back to my college days in Chile, eating the empanadas sold by “tio chaparra” while running to my next lecture.Dine in: No Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes …
Paulo C. Ortega: The empanadas are so good whenever I can I stop by to grab some because the smell and the way are made it bring me back to my Chile querido
