Laura May: Will be greatly missed! Saw Transformers:Rise of the Beasts on Thursday the day before the last day. Dropped everything to see a movie there the second I saw they were closing and so glad I did. This is a tragedy they are closing because this was truly a great theater! Hope another theater replaces it! I saw so many movies at this theater when I lived downtown and could walk here! Great memories!

Florian Krentzel: One of the best 1.43 screens in the country. Both in breadth of releases that fit with IMAX programming, but also for Fathom events or special ticket type orders. The staff at the amc is typical of most locations but the movie presentation is almost always on point which is why you should come in the first place. Some of the mounting locations of the screen are visible during pure white scenes but this requires maintenance and might not be fixed in the near future. I will update my review if this changes.
Matty B: The only IMAX screen in San Francisco, and it leaves quite a bit to be desired.The best seats are all the way near the back of the theatre, where you’re seated around ⅔ of the screen’s height. The seats don’t recline, and are among the least comfortable I’ve sat in at an AMC this decade.
Tammy Shueh: Great seats.. very good sound quality and movie experience. The bathrooms were really nice and clean. That’s always a plus. We watched Dune part two and the seats were amazing. Will do it again

Vonetta Barnes: I just love this movie theater and I especially love James the manager whenever me and my family meaning myself and my three children plus my niece when we always go here they always make us feel welcome. James is so adorable. All his staff are so so so so sweet Movie theater is just overall awesome. Always my first pick when I’m in San Francisco.

Kai Griner: "The Fall Guy" was a great movie to try the 4D experience. This theater showcases the many benefits of a theater-going experience that you can't get at home. Five stars because with every movie I have seen since Regal opened, I have always had a positive experience. Hot food is cooked fresh so if you plan to get food, don't come too late, or opt for ready food like popcorn and snacks. There is a bartender as well serving all the basics as well as movie-inspired cocktails.

RJ_SF: I went to see a movie on their day of discounted tickets. The place was clean and tidy. The service was great. Alejandro at the concession stand displayed great professionalism, answered all of our questions regarding the variety of concession options, and made us feel welcomed. The screening room was spacious, with comfy chairs and clean rows. I definitely will return as I had a great experience.

Turquoise blu: My Father James Barrett took to the Balboa theater back in 1987 to see Robocop, I was 10 years old. A few doors down were a Chinese restaurant that served the best ready-made chicken wings, were a quarter a piece. Good memories.
