Fenix: As a restaurant owner and chef it’s rare for me to write reviews but this place delivered. My first time in San Diego and I was skeptical at first due to how many disappointing restaurants inhabit downtown areas, and the fact that it was across the street from my hotel and a Cheesecake Factory, but the experience was amazing. I felt a little underdressed considering how the staff and most of the clientele were attired but we were seated promptly. Our server was attentive and the atmosphere was fitting of a fine dining establishment. The bone-in ribeye was as tender as I would expect from a prime cut, the béarnaise sauce was perfectly on point balanced with salt and vinegar with large flecks of tarragon throughout. My wife had the Chilean sea bass and we ordered the Brussels sprouts and maccheroni al torchio. I tried everything on the table and was as a chef was blown away with how amazingly balanced every dish was. Even the torchio noodles were stunning quality just for a Mac and cheese. This experience was worth every penny.Kid-friendliness: This restaurant has high-chairs and a kids menu. We brought a 1 & 2 year old and felt welcomed.
Didier AGUILAR: We celebrated our anniversary anniversary dinner and we had a great positive experience, full of details and, above all, excellent food and service. The Crab Cake is spectacular, the New York is not to mention and the dessert is impressive. One of the best places in terms of food and service that we have dined at. Highly recommending, don't forget to go.
Will Sanders: Absolutely great experience. The service is impeccable and the food delightful. The atmosphere on a Friday night is just divine with live music, perfect lighting and terrific food. The filet was cooked perfectly to temperature, and the caviar potatoes were splendid. Overall I left eating here thoroughly impressed with everything. My only regret is not eating here sooner.
Robert Henry: Unfortunately, my dinner at Eddie V's was attended by 36 others who enjoyed a meal together for work. The altered menu and the family-style serving of sides and desserts didn't provide the opportunity to enjoy the uniqueness of this restaurant. The wait staff were excellent, but the atmosphere was a little stuffy with all of us jammed into a tight room with two long tables. The Lobster Bisque and the 10 oz. Filet Mignon were very good.
Brandon Carter: I've been here on multiple occasions for happy hour. The staff is attentive, the food is on point and they have decent price HH drinks. The clientele is a bit older which is fine by me because I don't have to talk over loud music, but I think I was the only guy at the bar in a T-shirt and shorts but I was treated just the same as the guy next to me in a blazer ordering a $50 whiskey.
Ash A. Nahle: . This is a model restaurant. I will absolutely recommend this fine establishment to anyone who goes CLOSE to San Diego. Also, the Chilean sea bass Hong Kong style and crab cake were cooked to perfection, though everything else was consistently delicious too.
