Sheree W: We were fortunate to call this beautiful waterfront hotel our home for the past week. It was clean, comfortable and family-friendly. The “young lady” who serviced our corner suite on the 9th floor each morning, certainly helped to make our stay a more pleasant one. As we left our room for the last time, Ms. Alice O. cheerfully said her goodbyes and gave each of us a hug. She told us how much she would miss seeing us every morning. They say the people make the place. How true that is. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, but not all of the front desk people were as friendly and well-versed as I feel they should have been. When asked about the trolley transit system, the young man at the Elite desk responded that he did not know. Having worked in the service industry myself, I do not feel this was an adequate response. If you do not know, you find out. We had an evening flight out, so requested to stay a little later than the regular checkout time as we were traveling with our two young children. Hearing of our dilemma, the young lady at the Elite desk extended our stay but charged us for the privilege. She was very matter of fact about it. Although we understand hotel policies, we had stayed at the hotel a total of 7 nights, eating the majority of our meals at the hotel, so it would have been a nice gesture for that fee to be waived. I’m sure Ms. Alice O. would not have hesitated to do so had she been there, smiling the entire time, no doubt.Walkability: Very walkable to marina front.
