This nature preserve features three distinct habitats: riparian, grassland, and hillside chaparral, providing a diverse range of ecosystems for visitors to explore.
Two historic trails, the Cocomaricopa Trail and the Carriage Trail, form a four-mile loop, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the preserve's natural beauty.
The preserve is undergoing a re-vegetation project to remove non-native invasive grasses and replant native vegetation, which will take several years to complete. Additionally, efforts are being made to maintain the riparian habitat and reduce invasive vegetation.
Visitors can enjoy a pleasant gathering place at the Bobcat Bowl Amphitheater, which was created as an Eagle Scout project for outdoor education programs. Way-finding signs are also available to help visitors navigate the trails.
The ultimate goal is to restore the natural habitat and provide a safe haven for wildlife, while also offering visitors a unique opportunity to connect with nature and refresh their souls.
