The garden is open from **sunrise to sunset**, weather permitting. Please note that the parking lot may flood during winter and spring months, leading to the closure of the area to vehicles.
Visitors are asked to **stay on pathways**, refrain from playing **amplified music**, and not engage in **bikes or sports activities**. Additionally, a **portable restroom** is available for use.
The garden was founded in 1958 by **Charles C. Jensen**, a retired produce buyer who transformed the 3 1/2 acre property into a beautiful garden. He and his wife **Marguerite Jensen** brought back truckloads of plants and trees from Oakland, gradually clearing the land and planting various species, including **Magnolias**, **Azaleas**, **Dogwoods**, and **Japanese Maples**.
The garden features a unique **Nature Path for the Blind**, designed for the visually impaired, which allows visitors to experience the garden through **different textures and fragrances**. The garden also has thousands of **Tulips**, making it a stunning destination in the spring.
Visitors can support the garden by making **monetary donations** to the CRPD Foundation or by becoming a **volunteer**. The garden also hosts **Garden Work Days** on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9am-1pm, where volunteers can help with maintenance and upkeep.
