Dogs are allowed on trails and in water, but not in certain areas such as swim areas at Black Miners Bar, Granite Bay, Beals Point, Nimbus Flat, and the turf area at Nimbus Flat.

Yes, there are some restrictions and closures in the park. Seasonal Fire restrictions are in effect at the Peninsula Campground and Day Use areas, and the Park Road in Granite Bay is closed to vehicle traffic. Additionally, the Mormon Island Auxiliary Dam (MIAD) is closed to public access due to the Folsom Dam Raise Project.
Visitors can see the Folsom Powerhouse, a historic site that produced 11,000 volts of electricity for Sacramento residents from 1885 to 1952. They can also enjoy the scenic views of the lake and surrounding areas.
