Dylan Spaulding: Greg did an outstanding job on our deck. He was quick with responses, conscientious about keeping costs down and worked with us on improving design ideas as we went with cost and efficiency in mind. He didn't flinch when we introduced some additional details that complicated the job and still came in at his original quote despite the extra effort involved. Reading some other reviews, I see a few people were upset about the quoting process, but our experience with Greg was nothing but positive. It is perfectly reasonable to have to provide rough measurements and photos to get started, ideally followed by an in-person inspection of the site and that's what we did. He nailed the quote by using materials economically and efficiently and was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him.

Larry Aceves: We are more than pleased with the work Greg Brock Construction has done to replace our redwood deck and install a top quality Trex deck. Greg and his crew carefully removed the existing deck and were able to save some of the foundation pieces that were in great shape, saving us some costs in materials.They repaired some shoddy construction that had existed before and left it in pristine condition, particularly beams that were not square and poorly anchored. They did this without charging us extra for their efforts.The railings and stairs were constructed to our specifications, and all the curves were rounded which made them much more attractive and safer for children. They carved out a space for a hot tub we will install into the deck, and will return when the hot tub arrives to make sure it fits like a glove!Their finish work and painting was top quality. Everything they worked on is completed in awesome style.We recommend Greg and his company for anyone wanting to install a deck!

Jeff Gold: Greg did a fantastic job for us. We needed our 2nd story deck rebuilt due to dry rot, etc. He rebuilt using great wood and saved what foundation he could. The results were perfect and even the stain was expertly done without a drop anywhere it was not supposed to be. Then we needed some garage cabinets built. We worked together to choice the right ones, with his expertise showing when selecting types. sizes, and pricing. He measured many times, and the results were once again perfect. The garage looks awesome. I am tempted to buy a new car just to keep it looking good.Anyway, Greg is a very professional, exacting, careful and considerate construction guru who knows how to keep things on time on and at or below budget. Harmon Coltrin: Ken Rector was straightforward from bid to final cleanup. I was really impressed with our conversation, regarding details, during his bid preparations. The bid came in higher than I expected but based on the details we had previously discussed I decided to go with Ken and I was not disappointed. rob willson: but foolishly got dazzled by another contractor that had big promises and too-good-to-be-true pricing... and it led to constant frustration and an entire year of lost time.After living in our home for two years, we realized that the deck was the anchor-piece and we wanted to do it right. The existing 10x30' deck was failing so we decided to double the size to 20x30'. We wanted to keep it a minimalist design with the fewest footings and beams possible. It's a complicated landscape with several converging slopes making it difficult for heavy equipment to work. At the highest point, the deck is 25' above the grade below. Ken came in with a plan that worked perfectly.We already had drawings and a permit when Ken re-entered the job. That said, if you've done a large project before, plans can't account for all the detail pieces that come up, material delays nor the unexpected work that needs to happen once you start removing existing panels and structure. At every point, Ken listened to what we wanted to do, solved the problem and kept additional costs reasonable where others may see it as an easy opportunity to gouge the customer.If you hire Ken, you will see him at every step of the process from first estimate to final walk-through. Your job will be the only one he's working on. He'll be at your house every day with one or two of his assistants. Every time a question arises, he'll bring it up to you, lay out the options and let you decide which is best. He truly places your satisfaction over timelines.I could go on and on...In a world where people over-promise and under-deliver, Ken walks different. He's not going to dazzle you with fancy trucks and slick talk but he will give you a fair price and hit the ball out of the park where it really counts. Our experience reminded me of doing a project with a good buddy... if that buddy just happened to be a professional craftsman.Thanks again, Ken.

Mark Finhill: I can’t say enough good things about Ken Rector’s work. After a frustrating search for contractors, we hired his company to replace our disaster of a front deck. Ken quickly drew up a plan that matched the original layout of the deck and had a building permit issued the next day. I’ve never seen anyone work as hard as he did or take as much pride in his work. We were also happy to learn that Ken is a certified Trex Platinum Contractor.The finished deck is beautiful—and it’s built to last. Unlike the original deck, the new deck and porch roof framing are now fully supported and secured with concrete piers and Simpson hardware. Ken consistently looked after the small details—pre-drilling and countersinking all of the screws and installing the deck treads with hidden fasteners. He didn’t cut corners or use inferior materials. Ken also replaced the rotted siding and trim around the deck, putting in new flashing and even painting the new materials.In short, Ken Rector showed the same care and regard for our home that he would for his own. They know what a punch list means to a customer, and they stick with the project until all of the items are completed. The project involved remodeling our kitchen and living room by converting our garage into a new mater bedroom and bonus room for the kids. We also updated 2 bathrooms, and had a new garage constructed. Jason, Judy and Mike and his crew were great to work with and made sure every detail was perfect. Robert Bjorge: 3D installed a large four panel sliding patio door in the back wall of my house. The work required reinforcement of the wall and removal and replacement of utilities and kitchen cabinetry and countertop to provide access. All was done to plan and within the budget and the contractor communicated effectively to coordinate activities and resolve the limited number of issues that needed to be dealt with.
PJ Rubel: I don’t know where to start with all the praise I want to give to 3D Benchmark! After getting no responses and really expensive quotes I was referred to 3D from my painter and I am so happy with every experience I have had with them! First off their communication was phenomenal! Constant updates throughout the jobs and constant checkins to see if we are happy. Second their pricing was so good and lower then everyone one else who seemed like they were price gouging during the pandemic. Third is their work is super clean and flawless. Every time a different contractor came in they introduced them selfs and wore booties and were very respectful of our wishes. We have a toddler he gets into everything and they made sure they left the job site everyday safe and clean for our little dude to stay safe. I will never have anyone else do work on our house now that I’ve found 3D Benchmark! So satisfied with their work and already have them quoting our next project!

John Ertola: had to be demolished and then rebuilt. A very extensive undertaking. Our deck was challenging to access but Jason & his staff carefully designed a plan to achieve our goal. Jason worked very deliberately with us to ensure the proper sequence of steps were followed. He made many trips up to the Auburn area so to meet with us to explain the process and details of the job. Jason provided us with several options to meet our budget. Once we chose the best path forward, Jason continued to work with us throughout the project to get us UNDER budget without compromising the quality of our deck. Mike, Big Mike to us, is another one of our heroes! Big Mike was the Foreman on our project. Mike & his crew arrived promptly at our home every morning at 7:30 to begin work. At the end of each day Mike would check in with us regarding the progress of the day as well as the game plan for the next day. Communication was quite impressive and greatly appreciated. Another hero to us in the 3D Family is Judy. Judy is the project coordinator. Judy was very aware of our situation and worked with us diligently to not only meet our goals but exceed them. Judy went to bat for us every step of the way! She is incredibly talented, transparent, and honest. It always seems that Judy was able to meet benchmarks “yesterday”. We communicated with Judy every day and she would always get back to us same day with answers to our questions. Judy’s experience and expertise got us to the finish line BEFORE our deadline. William Johnson: 3D Benchmark Builders did Fantastic work remodeling my whole house. The new kitchen works great with the new island. The master bathroom beat all of my expectations with tile work and heavy glass partition. The Electrical work to add 27 can lights and 5 fans went well without any problems. Rain created issues during the roof replacement. 3D brought in more workers and was able to finish the roof without a drop of rain coming the house. I was briefed from a member of the 3D Benchmark Team every day with progress and scheduling. My project came in on time and on budget. Julianne Humphrey: I met with Mark to get ideas for a patio cover for my backyard. He was very straightforward about what made the most sense for my space and what would just add unnecessary cost without adding much value. He came up with a great vision that would meet my needs without being unnecessarily pricey. I met with several other companies for estimates, and each of those meetings ended up with much more complicated and costly plans when what I was looking for was a mix of simple, reasonably priced, and good quality. Mark’s estimate and vision for the project was by far the best of everyone I met with. The other companies I met with took very hard sell approaches and got very pushy trying to get me to sign with them. However, Mark took a no pressure approach that I respect and very much appreciate as a customer. I ultimately decided not to move forward with the patio cover project at this time, but when I am ready to do so I will absolutely be calling Mark first.

The dock looked exactly like his sample he showed us and it perfectly matched what we were hoping for.
