Roxanne Alee is the licensed acupuncturist here at East West Acupuncture Center. She has her Masters degree in Oriental Medicine. She was licensed to practice acupuncture in 2000. East West Acupuncture Center as been open since 2001.

Roxanne is also a registered nurse. She has always been interested in assisting people to heal. She originally choose nursing as a profession because of her desire to help people. She began her study of herbal medicine when she was 13. Her mother taught her about herbs and their uses. She still remembers the smell of those herbs in their jars. Although the first recorded history of TCM dated back over 2,000 years, it is believed that the origins of TCM went back more than 5,000 years. The core of TCM is the philosophy that Qi, or life energy, flows throughout the body. A person’s health is influenced by the quality, quantity, and the balance of Qi.

TCM revolves around the idea of a constant state of change, explained through the theory of Yin and Yang. Everything in nature can be expressed as the opposition of Yin and Yang. Highly recommend! I found Dr. Tan by a quick google search, I called to make an appointment and she had appointments that fit my schedule. The location is right off of Foothills and Vineyard (near Denio’s). She is located in building B, suite 10 (downstairs). Parking was easy. The paperwork for first time patients was a breeze, I was very excited to know that this place accepts Kaiser coverage! Noriko Nagato, L.Ac. is the owner of Center for Optimum Health: Village Acupuncture. She has over 25 years of experience treating various illnesses using Oriental Medicine including acupuncture and herbal medicine. She treated patients at Eijyukai Hospital in Kanazawa, Japan before coming to the United States. She is a graduate of Meiji Oriental Medical School, Kyoto, Japan and is licensed in both Japan and California.

Anna Cheung L.Ac. went to school at Five Branches in Santa Cruz after graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in biology. She received her acupuncture license in 2003. Anna’s drive to learn acupuncture more deeply brought her to Village Acupuncture a few months later to study with Noriko sensei.

Sara Anderson L.Ac. graduated from Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA after having received her undergraduate degree from CSU Sacramento. She received her license to practice acupuncture in 2009. Having worked at Village Acupuncture since she was sixteen, Sara already knew she wanted to study with Noriko sensei after she graduated.

Catherine Ng L.Ac. went to school at Five Branches in Santa Cruz after graduating from U.C. Berkeley. She received her acupuncture license in 2016. She was pleased to find Noriko sensei to study with.

Filling out forms ~ Of course, what office visit would be complete without a few forms to fill out? We have a standard patient information form as well as a detailed health form. We will mail these to you to fill out before your first acupuncture visit.

Consultation ~ A private consultation, which includes a candid discussion of your emotional and physical state, is important for a complete understanding of your condition.

Examination ~ The exam includes both Western and Oriental methods and may include blood pressure, reflexes, range of motion testing as well as tongue and pulse examination.

Diagnosis ~ Information gathered through the consultation and exam is used to create a comprehensive picture of your condition.

Treatment ~ The acupuncture treatment is performed using pre-sterilized needles which are inserted at the appropriate acupuncture points. You may feel tingling, pressure or
