Placer SPCA: what do users think?

Ann Bach: A very clean and beautiful place where you can see all the animals. Staff is also very helpful. Got my eight year-old female Chihuahua from here in February 2024 and we’re getting along very well. I definitely recommend the place if you want a pet.

Michael St. Denis: Very caring people here, clearly all here because they love animals and want the best for them. They do everything they can to help out creatures and find them forever homes.

Safyre Shore: My girl is amazing. She is so well behaved and sweet and loves other dogs. She can be annoying to little dogs but she just wants to play. I was worried because SPCA said she was aggressive with other dogs but I think she just needed some conditioning. She is so wonderful.

jacqueline smith: I got my bunny from here. His name was peanut I changed it to Bunny bun buns. They are so nice there and helpful. It’s a very clean place too. I was just surprised I never got a call from them checking in to see how everything is going. I’m his 4th owner and he has been brought to that place 3 times. He’s very happy and he’ll never go back there. I would definitely go back there and recommend them.

Craig Landis: Sometimes a wild animal is injured and the SPCA was there to help. Sometimes people throw their pet away by dropping it off in another community and the SPAC is there to help. I have rescued 32 animals in 66 years and the SPCA was there to help.

Sierra Pacific Great Pyrenees Rescue: what do users think?

T A: I have not been here bit their dogs look well cared for and they appear to really pick out the new owners, such as telling them about the dogs temperament, activity levels, that they have wanderlust, etc. Four stars since I have not been there.

David Reed: Great people doing great work.

Brian Thompson: I don’t remember it must of been good

Pam Tobin: Here at the rescue dogs are taken in that are very broken, very sick, abused, abandoned and unwanted. "Rescue" is a term as it relates to dogs that really need to be "rescued" because if not they will die. That's either thru euthanasia at kill shelters or through hoarding situations and abuse cases like you see on TV when the SPCA plays their ads. This rescue will often take owner-surrenders when space allows. Most breed rescues won't take owner surrenders because they reserve those spaces for the dogs who's lives depend on it. Often we take owner surrenders before they end up in shelters and later are put to sleep. Owners have a responsibility to their dogs and to ensure that they don't take advantage of rescue's generosity. I'm not sure why owners believe that we are a dumping ground for their dogs, but some do. We do what we can for the dogs and when working in rescue it's important to note that we work with all sorts of people and most of the time we see the worst of the worst. On occasion I it becomes difficult to suffer the overwhelming ignorance that is out there as evident by negative reviews. There is always a second side to every story, but like the song says, "GOD is great, beer is good and people are CRAZY! Every dog that comes here and passes through these doors will be restored and will come to rest comfortably in the arms of love, care and peace. We have fed the underfed, find the lost and deserted, rested the overworked, calmed the frightened, and comforted the abandoned and have held tenderly the ones that pass on. Please remember to support rescue.

Cesar Cancino: This is a fabulous organization. They do such good work with this noble breed.

Michael Smith: , I am on my last, at over 13 years old, and I will adopt from SPGPC, when I am ready to adopt again.Thank you to all of you that adopt Rescue animals and, Pam, keep up the excellent work!

Clifford Klemin: It was great to meet with the staff of this wonderful rescue of these beautiful dogs

Robert In Loomis: Passionate people that want to help the breed.

Mazie Fitzgerald: Rescued my 15 month old from them last October. They are super knowledgeable and take great care of their dogs.

Amber Mahoney: Responded very quickly to telephone message. Quick and efficient intake procedure.

Cathe: These are hard working people, operating on a shoestring. They do great work and try whatever they can to help rescued animals. They are constantly trying to improve and appreciate the public's interest and help in caring for animals needing help. Check out their website for tips. Call them with any questions.

Britt K. Carlsen: - she was so nice and helpful and informative! This was the first time we had ever had a reason to take in a wild animal to be helped. We are so glad we chose GCWR! It's truly amazing work they do, 8-5, 365 days per year. Now that is True Dedication in my book! We were given an intake number and were encouraged to check for status of the little one in a few days if we wanted to. We found out the baby we found was a roof rat. I cannot recommend this organization highly enough!!!

Melody Fulweiler: My family just saved 4 baby birds we took them in and they were happy to help all of them.Remember, they run on donations. But don't expect $

TIMOTHY BRADFORD: Helped us with a Baby Blue Jay

Desi B: We landscape and had an incident where we ended up with 4 newborn field mice without a momma. We brought them here and the ladies that helped us made the process so easy they also gave us a paper with individual case numbers for each Lil baby that we can use to get updates on the Lil guys!!! 3 so thankful we found gold country wildlife rescue! When we first called we had to leave a voice-mail and they called us back within minutes with a solution!!!

Tami Saner: We love that Gold Country Wildlife exists, we have brought many feathered friends here throughout the years to get rehabilitated, every one is so helpful and friendly, we know this is the best place to give these little friends a chance to survive. 💖

Res Rehabber: This organization has been saving the lives of injured and orphaned wildlife for so many years! These folks are such an amazing resource for not just Auburn but the surrounding region in terms of helping wildlife and educating, but also in interacting with other rescues to do the very best they can to use all the resources everybody has.

Jim Kleinbach: They do important work and they're very pleasant.

Betsy Land: I called before bringing in an injured dove. I thought the bird could be helped. They took her inside and gave me an email where I could check on her progress. She was examined an it was determined that her jaw was broken so they euthanized her. She was in great pain. I'm so thankful to them for the care. I gave a donation but it wasn't required or solicited.Excellent people there.

Joshua Taylor: The services this place provides are amazing and wonderful!

emelyne prado: We found a tiny hummingbird injured on the sidewalk. Within a few minutes, the friendly staff took the bird in. Any animal taken here is definitely in good hands!

Bob Lynch: An important resource, available when you really need it.

Jacob Walker: This is such an amazing organization!!!! They help so many animals: 🐇🐦🐿️🦅🦆🦇🦉🦊& more

Jamie Lee: Ann was so kind and helpful. Thankful I had a place to bring the bird my cat brought in the house.

Angel Nadia: Is this the place that had pinky the cat?😂😂😂😂

John “Suhr Real” Campbell: I think this facility is a good place for stray or lost animals. It's sad to see them there as they look like great pets to adopt. I just wished I had more room to adopt some of the dogs there, but I am currently dealing with two at the moment. Maybe later this year because the oldest dog is circling the drain.

Kalia Schuster: THIS IS A PSA, NOT A REVIEW. PLACER AND SACRAMENTO COUNTY WILL NOT TAKE IN CATS THAT ARE NOT INJURED/SICK OR KITTENS. ADULT STRAYS ARE ON THEIR OWN.

AnneMarie: Everything was clean and all of the workers were helpful and kind.

Mike Markov: Great place to adopt. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We got a couple little boys there

Mitzi Garnett: Very kind, considerate and patient attendees. Very supportive and understanding. No pressure or uncomfortable judgement energy say all. Literally every person I interacted with was delightful. The facilities was VERY clean but didn't smell over disinfected like some I've been to. All the dogs, I didn't visit cat section, was second off so big dogs were together, medium with same, and all the small together. They offered several Meet and Greet rooms and the option to walk your potential new family member with one of the knowledge staff. Off your wondering, Yes! I found the perfect addition to my family. They even found a great harness to send him home in. They have adoption specials a couple times a year that makes it inexpensive to get started. The process is painless. Good luck if you are looking!

Emme Robb-: This is a beautiful and humane shelter with wonderful volunteers and staff.

Cat Cortez: Very good, my favorite place!!

Joshua Vines: So many cute and adorable dogs. I didn't get to the cat section yet. The staff was super helpful. Everyone should swing by if the are able.

Tammi Dehate: This is our 2nd time adopting a dog from here. They are kind and compassionate people that work and volunteer there

Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary: what do users think?

Angelica Lloyd: We had the best experience here! They go above and beyond to make sure you get the right dog for you. I worked with another golden retriever rescue and found them to be very exclusive. Homeward bound is very inclusive and responsible with finding the right fit for the dog and family. Carol knows her stuff! Also…what an amazing place! It’s a retreat more than a rescue! We hit the jackpot with our boy! Thank you so much!Pic of our new best friend. We are in love!

Jay Griffiths: Our family has adopted two awesome Golden Retrievers. Homeward bound does an amazing job, highly recommended that if you are considering a Golden Retrievers, go visit this amazing facility run by Angels

Vicky Elder: Very compassionate and helpful

Kathleen Caron: We adopted our beautiful golden Winston in 2023. Homeward Bound helped us identify a good match for us, and we went home with an older boy who had sadly been abandoned without collar or tags. He is friendly, sweet, and eager to please. Reactive to dogs on walks, which we're working on. Many thanks to HB for rescuing Winston, rehabilitating him, and bringing us together.

Richard Campagna: This is a wonderful place that does great things for these animals. They take them from kill shelters as far away as Ohio. Dogs here are never euthanized. Everybody who works here is a volunteer.

Brett Frazer: We have been very pleased with our experience with adopting a new pet golden retriever through Homeward Bound.Team of volunteers have been very helpful throughout the entire process on the initial intake through the home suitability inspection to helping us plan our visit to their premise near Sacramento, where we found and adopted a wonderful 3-year-old golden retriever. They provided us with all of the necessary essentials from food to a leash, collar, and harness, as well as a sleeping crate and bed pad.I'd highly endorse them for anybody looking for a new golden retriever pet.

Christina Snow: I volunteer here and it's an amazing facility. They truly care about the dogs.

Elizabeth Forrester: .

paul dugan: This is a Great Place and Judy was gracious!

Galen Tom (Jynxx): This rescue is legit! It is like a day spa with several private yards, toys, play structures, pools...Unfortunately, I needed to surrender the Goldie I adopted to this organization. They informed me why my Goldie had the behavioral problems she had due to her being a kennel breeder, which was not disclosed to me.As soon as my Goldie got out of the car, she came out of her anti-social attitude, which I had not been able to relieve.Their website does not do this facility justice. It was a Saturday when I dropped off my dog and there had to be at least 10 volunteers present.

Joey Rubino: While I'm sure this is a wonderful place I'm extremely disappointed by their false hope of "exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis" in terms of having a fenced yard. During the application process they made zero attempt to find additional info about what kind of home a dog would be accepted into. Please remove that from your website if there's no attempt made in getting dogs good homes.

Yvonne Loaec: Very knowledgeable and helpful. We have had the best experience with Homeward Bound and our new addition Zoey. Highly recommend them. I wouldn't go anywhere else to adopt.

Nick Garrison: They were fantastic from the start, I appreciate that they want to make sure the dogs go to the right home. We’ve had our boy Andy for a little over a year and it’s been great.

1 Love Dog Rescue: what do users think?

Kaitlynn Erbeznik: I have been following 1 love for about 8 years now, since I got my boy Odie! Very professional, very personable, so much love for doggos!

sarah asgharzadeh: I've gotten now two dogs from here and it's really is the best. He takes such good care of the animals and always makes sure there happy and healthyThx you for saving the amazing animals and keep doing it!!!

Angela McElyea: Justin took in an adult and four puppies from the family of the owner who had passed away. We would have rescued the adult, but instead we were offered a puppy as someone else took the adult before we could request her. The pup was approx 10 weeks old and we felt like the adoption/rescue proceeding and costs were about normal. He gave her a microchip and booster vax upon pickup. He reviewed with us what he’d observed of her personality in the short period he had her. The pup went off to our vet as soon as we got her home…we provided our vet the initial de worming and vaccination record we were given and we were given a clean bill of health and a plan for continuation of vaccination. All as expected…better even, since rescues often get pups from the streets or from shelter where they are susceptible to illness which doesn’t show up until later. I feel good about Justin’s efforts - at the end of the day he saves some lives and that’s what it’s all about. In the three weeks we’ve had her we’ve seen her little personality blossom…it’s true love over here.

Jessica Fletcher: I had an amazing experience getting my dog from Justin. He genuinely cares for these animals and dedicates his life to saving them. All of the people leaving bad reviews either need to get a hobby or help because they obviously have no idea what they are talking about.

T Lowe: Justin was very helpful in assisting us find a home for our dog. He was knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. He did everything he said he would, posted our pup and helped us find him a home. He really was engaged and cared about finding the right home for the dog. I am grateful for this organization and everything they’re doing for dogs. Thanks Justin, you rock!
