The park's operating hours vary by season. From January to February, the park is open from 8am to 5pm. From March to April, it's open from 8am to 6pm. From May to September, it's open from 8am to 7pm. In October, it's open from 8am to 6pm, and from November to December, it's open from 8am to 4pm.
Parking fees are collected when the kiosk is attended from April to October. The fees are $3 per car/trailer, $25 per bus, and $2 per dog. Guide and service dogs are free.
The park features scenic trails that lead through breezy meadows with wildflowers in season, aromatic eucalyptus woods, and along bluffs and beaches on San Pablo Bay. There are also beautiful views of Mt. Tamalpais, the Marin shoreline, and San Pablo Bay with its sailboat and shipping traffic.
The park has two entrances with parking areas, one at the end of Atlas Road and one at the end of Giant Highway. There are also picnic sites, restrooms, and a new park office and service yard. Additionally, there is a 1.5-mile raised extension to the Bay Trail and a restored marsh area.
There are several ways to get to the park, depending on your starting location. From I-80, take the Richmond Parkway exit and go west towards the Bay. From I-580, take the Richmond Parkway/Castro Street exit and go north. There are also directions provided for those coming from Goodrick Avenue. The park entrance is approximately 2.5 to 5.75 miles from the highway exits, depending on the route taken.
