The parking lot hours are from 8am to sunset.
On even-numbered dates, horses and hikers are allowed on designated trails in the Pilot Zone, but no bikes are allowed. On odd-numbered dates, bikes and hikers are allowed on designated trails in the Pilot Zone, but no horses are allowed.
The parking fee is $3 per vehicle (when the kiosk is attended) and $3 per trailered vehicle. Buses are $25 per bus. Dogs are $2 per dog, but guide and service dogs are free.
You should be aware that the intersection of Briones Crest Trail/Mott Peak Trail and Briones Crest Trail/Lagoon Trail is currently damaged but passable with care. Additionally, some areas of the park have no data coverage, so it's a good idea to check your phone's coverage before heading out.
You can expect to see rolling, grassy hills, secluded canyons, and panoramic views of Mount Diablo and the Diablo Valley to the east, the Sacramento River and Delta to the north, the East Bay hills and Mt. Tamalpais to the west, and Las Trampas Regional Wilderness to the south. The park is also home to many animals and birds, including black-tailed deer, coyotes, squirrels, red-tailed hawks, and turkey vultures.
