The main entrance gate hours vary by season: Jan 1-Feb 29: 8am-6pm, Mar 1-Mar 31: 8am-7pm, Apr 1-Sep 30: 8am-8pm, Oct 1-Oct 31: 8am-7pm, and Nov 1-Dec 31: 8am-6pm.
Parking fees are $5 per vehicle and $4 per trailered vehicle. There is also a fee of $2 per dog, except for guide/service dogs which are free. Additionally, buses are charged $25 per bus.
There is little or no cellular service in the park. However, there is limited public Wi-Fi access at the Park Office for emergencies.
You can take AC Transit buses #39, #339, or #54 from Fruitvale BART to various locations near the park. From there, you can walk to the park. Please check the transit schedule and plan your trip in advance.
The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, racoon, rabbits, and squirrels. You may also spot rare species such as the golden eagle and Alameda striped racer.
