The park is open between 5am and 10pm unless otherwise posted or permitted. Gate hours vary by month: January-February 6am-6pm, March 6am-7pm, April 6am-8pm, May-Labor Day 6am-9pm, September 6am-8pm, October 6am-7pm, and November-December 6am-6pm.
Parking fees are $5 per vehicle, $4 per trailered vehicle, and $2 per dog (guide/service dogs are free). The park offers wheelchair accessible restrooms, drinking fountains, and picnic tables. There is also a wheelchair ramp from the parking lot to the marina, and disabled parking spaces are located in the main lot.
The park offers a variety of recreational activities, including fishing, boating, kayaking, and sailing. Visitors can also enjoy hiking, bicycling, jogging, and running trails, as well as picnicking areas, a grassy play area, and horseshoe pits.
The marina area offers kayak and boat rentals, a bait and tackle shop, and a cafe that serves snacks, breakfast, and lunch. Visitors can also take a lake tour aboard the Chabot Queen or charter the boat for a private tour.
The lake is stocked with trout and catfish, and also has bass, crappie, and other fish species. The park hosts an annual spring fishing derby, making it a popular destination for anglers of all skill levels.
