The park has a curfew from 10pm to 5am. The campground and group camps are open from 8am to 10pm from April to October, and are closed seasonally from November to March.
There is no fee for parking. Dogs are allowed in the park without a fee, but there is a $2 fee for dogs in the campground. Guide and service dogs are exempt from fees.
Due to recent storm damage, the park is not accessible via Redwood Road from I-580 westbound in Castro Valley. Instead, access the park via Redwood Road from Skyline Boulevard. There are several access points to the park on Redwood Road, including Proctor Staging Area, Redwood Canyon Public Golf Course, Marciel Gate, Bort Meadow Staging Area, and Redwood Gate.
