The nature preserve is nestled in a glen at an elevation of 5,024 feet, in the shadow of 8,700-foot Wilshire Peak.
The preserve is home to a botanic garden, a Children's Outdoor Discovery Center, and the entire 114-year-old Los Rios Rancho Apple Farm, which includes ponds, streams, wetlands, oak and pine forests, chaparral, and willow woodland.
Visitors can picnic, hike, participate in environmental programs, and pick apples and enjoy homemade apple pie at the Los Rios Rancho Apple Farm. They can also attend FREE interpretive programs and participate in volunteer programs to help maintain and restore the preserve.
Visitors are encouraged to practice outdoor ethics by leaving rocks, plants, and archaeological artifacts as they find them, observing wildlife from a distance, and maintaining courtesy towards other visitors.
The organization aims to preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and provide programs for children to experience the wonder and joy of nature.
