The recently completed project, “Illuminating Decades of California Women Artists: 1950-Present,” has enabled the museum to photograph, research, describe, document, and catalog 515 works in a variety of media and styles by 271 women artists, providing a significant increase in publicly accessible collection information about museum objects and raising the visibility of and appreciation for the institution’s historical collection of women artists and their contributions to California’s artistic scene.
