The temple hosts various events, including Classical Live Concerts, Navarathri Utsavam, Ganesh Chathurthi Celebrations, and religious discourses. You can also participate in homams, such as the Sri Sani Peyarchi Homam.
According to the temple's Bylaws, Board Elections are supposed to be held every two years. However, the last election was held more than 20 years ago, and the current Board has decided to call a new election to put the temple's governance on a regular footing.
The current Board believes that important decisions, including financial decisions and decisions on new member admissions, should be made by a newly-elected Board with democratic legitimacy. They want to ensure that the temple is governed in a fair, transparent, and forward-looking manner.
The election will be managed by an independent Election Commissioner and an independent company to ensure a fair and transparent process. Members can nominate themselves or others as candidates, and a website has been set up for this purpose. A Notice of Election and instructions on how to nominate candidates have been mailed to members, and a website has been opened for online nominations.
The Board has approved two amendments to the Bylaws: one to allow for the election to be held in the current circumstances, and another to update the Bylaws to the 21st century, permitting electronic communications and meetings instead of only mail and telegraph communication and in-person meetings.
