Martin Klenert: I have been a Crohn's patient for over 50 years and have had three previous bowel resections starting when I was 22. About five years ago the inevitable flare-up signs returned and kept getting worse. Luckily I have a superb GI specialist at Cedars named Christina Ha. We discussed what was eventually coming and she said when the time came Dr Fleshner would be the best surgeon for me. Three months ago I started bleeding internally and was admitted to the ER. The bleeding continued and I eventually had many, many blood transfusions. The following morning Dr Fleshner and his team arrived at 6am and I knew I was in good hands. Despite the earlier open surgeries he performed the resection laproscopically. My recovery was seamless. He has a special gift. Dr Fleshner is both altruistic and exceptionally competent. I dreaded this surgery because of past open surgeries but three months later it seems like it never happened. I cannot recommend Dr Fleshner highly enough.
