Hungry Joe's Jamaican Restaurant: what do users think?

John Noel: The oxtail plate was a satisfying meal overall. While the oxtails themselves lacked a strong flavor profile, they were incredibly tender and fell off the bone effortlessly. The accompanying plantains, cabbage with beans, and rice were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. I'm eager to return and try their patties and jerk chicken.Rating: 4.5/5

Ms Tye Mason: I drove down to los angeles from LV specifically for Hungry Joes oxtails and if I tell you they did not disappoint. Omggg its been years since I've been there and I swear the food is better than I remember. I wish I would've bought more to bring back. I definitely will on my next visit. ..I was very pleased with the taste and portions. Can't wait to get back to Los Angeles to go back there.

LAs Qtst: I went back and it was BETTER than the first time! 🔥Unbelievable!I ordered the same dish and it was seasoned better than the previous time. The food gives me the comfort of a home-cooked meal.I hope they keep the chefs

A C: It was really good in the past but the chefs have gotten even better so this place is officially sent from Heaven.

xochitl de la foochie: Listen. I love this place and I would eat here for every meal if I could. Their beef patties send me to heaven. Each time I go I get something different and it is always soooo delicious. Karuba is amazing and the woman behind the counter is very friendly. Nice quiet place to get stick to your ribs food.

Jasmine G: Just finished eating here and couldn’t leave a review fast enough! So delicious, great portions, and really friendly staff. Can’t wait to come back!

Dee Hurst: Our family was very impressed with the Jamaican beef patties. The filling was plenty, the spice was on point, the flavor was authentic. When we visit LAX again, we will be searching for this gem and returning.

Roxanne Daniels: The vegan bowl with beyond meat was delicious! Food taste fresh and perfectly seasoned.

Asa Herron: My favorite Jamaican spot! Never had a bad experience after eating here more than 10 times. Consistent to say the least. It’s always fresh, flavorful food that is well balanced. The place has a cozy vibe and friendly service if you want to dine in. Good vegetarian options. The jerk ribs and jerk chicken are consistently great. The veggies and rice and peas are the same. Highly recommend their festival bread.

Christine Grussing: Spent a week eating our way through LA and I can say this was one of the best meals I had. Friendly staff and bomb flavors. Highly recommend the oxtail and jerk chicken!

Elle Holt: Hands down some if the MOST DELICIOUS Jamaican food I have EVER experienced!!! The jerk shrimp was spicy, flavorful and mouth-watering. The service was wonderful and the food was delivered hot and fast!Parking: Horrible. Not their fault.

Richard Hoffman: Jerk chicken to take away. Nicely spiced, plantain, rice and veg.Recommended dishes …

Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles: what do users think?

Ray Bolden: I’ve been to most of the Roscoe Chicken and Waffle Locations, but let’s focus on the Inglewood one.Convenience: This location is just minutes from the Airport. If you’re headed to LAX or just arriving , this is a convenient location to grab a meal. Most of the rental car companies are minutes away making It an easy stop.Safety: This isn’t the safest area, but as long as you move accordingly , you should be fine. LA runs on a strong set of street politics. Respect the community and the people in It , don’t linger around and don’t draw too much attention to yourself. You’re there to eat so do just that.Parking: Parking is only on one side of the restaurant. If you’re seated near the front entrance , you will not be able to see your car.Seating: Roscoes is a walk in restaurant that can typically accommodate your sitting regardless of party size. They offer table seating and booth seating as well.Food: Roscoe’s is known for their Chicken and Waffles. In my opinion , that’s all they should serve. The waffles are soft , thin and delectable and the chicken is savory as well. I’ve ordered some sides, such as eggs and grits…. I should’ve known better. The hot sauce isn’t super spicy , but has a kick to It.Cleanliness: Roscoe’s has two bathrooms. There’s also a sink located outside the bathroom if you just want to wash your hands without using the bathroom. As much as I love Roscoe’s , I still put my utensils in a cup of hot water before using them. The kitchen entrance isn’t too far from the seating area.Service: The service is usually good. The only time you’re really interacting with anyone is when you’re seated , ordering , or asking for the bill.Checkout: One thing I like about Roscoe’s is that once they bring the bill to your table , you then walk up to the register to pay before you leave. There’s no waiter or waitress constantly walking by to see if you’re ready to pay yet or someone with a machine checking you out on a handheld device.Overall, this is usually my go to when I land in LA or when I’m headed back home. The food is quite filling. It’s a casual spot that allows you to grab a quick meal.

Graham Poole: We have been touring the states, starting in Beverley Hills and ending here near the airport. During our visit we have eaten at 4 indian restaurants in different places we have visited. Including, Beverley Hills, Santa Barbara and San Diego. This place is without doubt the best one out of the 4. Very friendly staff and the food was excellent, we had the Chicken Balti and the Chicken Jalfezi, both were exceptionally good, and the garlic naan was delicious.Highly recommend this place to anyone staying near LAX airport. You need to open a restaurant in the UK.

Warren Howlett: These five stars reviews are very legit . The food is and has always been very good and delicious. Best food in Inglewood. Thank you

Gilbert Reich: First time here and these tacos were way better than I was expecting.

Jan Pressley: Clean spot ,fast service, table clean, utensils clean thank you on that..Parking: Pull in parking lot depends on the time of day.Kid-friendliness: Children respectfull

Jimbo R.: This is a small restaurant located in a strip mall. The tables are automatically decorated and imported directly from Mexico. The food here is delicious and it was served hot, and quickly. The chips and salsa served before the meal are complementary and the salsa has a kick to it. We liked it so much we returned two days later!!!Parking: Parking is right in front of the restaurant.

Debbie Suther: Recommended dishes Three Delight Brown Rice Vegetable Egg Rolls Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot

Patrick Xu: It was a quite interesting experience. There were homeless people sleeping beside the parking lot. You have to pay before the food was served. The lady owner told us that there were instances the that food prepared for pickups were stolen and people were leaving without paying after meals. That being said, the food was actually pretty good. The kung pao chicken and the green beans were well cooked and flavorful. The portions were large and the price was very reasonable. The owner was very friendly.

Andrew Bernardin: This is honestly our favorite take-out Chinese spot in Inglewood. It's been a staple here since the 80s. They give you huge portions for reasonable prices you won't find anywhere else. The food is always on point for your typical take-out. One time they forgot the appetizer we ordered and they gave us a credit for it the next time we came in. When we did, they gave us additional portions without us asking. It showed the owner cared.Yes, the ambiance hasn't changed since...the 80s, and the food isn't going to go above and beyond some of the places you'd find in Gardena or Chinatown but it's the typical spot you'd find everywhere across the East Coast when you need something quick, easy, and delicious. It's not trying to be trendy. The staff has always been helpful and kind.Check it out and grab some take out if you haven't.

Yolande Boyom: Please remember the following text:'This is a genuine review for the best Ghanaian food and restaurant in California. The portions are generous and the taste is amazing, just like in Africa 😅😍. The owner and workers are wonderful, and I have been eating there for four years now. Despite the 1 hour and 20 minute drive due to traffic, it is always worth it.'

Graham Baden: Best ground nut soup I've had since Africa!Brought a few colleagues for lunch. None of them had eaten West African food before but they all loved it and loved the culinary adventure.Delicious! Thank you!Oh, and the verdict is in, Ghanaian jollof rice is best.

Raymond Vargas Campos: Stopped by this place on 13 April. Been coming here every time I'm in LA for a long time. For $11, I got three meat and half and half chow mein and rice. Food was pretty good, especially the jalapeño chicken. That chicken was fire. Sweet and spicy. Can't go wrong there. Staff were friendly and they do keep the place clean. Highly recommend.

Larry Falkin: On the Google page the prices are very reasonable but when you get there you’ll see no prices listed for anything. I ordered some pork ribs, cabbage, green beans and a small side of white beans. Everything tasted really great but imagine my surprise when the price was almost $30. Online, the average side is $2 and main dishes were about $5-7. The portions are very generous but I’m used to Chef Marilyn’s prices. Equal quality at both places. Parking is limited, I parked a block away. The counter people were very friendly and helpful. A small side of beans is $1.50 but I was charged $7.50. I felt really cheated.Vegetarian options: Lots of beans, mashed potatoes, yams, cabbage, string beans and collard greens. You won’t go hungry

Deborah Suthers: Parking space Somewhat difficult to find parking

lonnie crawford: Not overly seasoned fresh and not under the heat lamps all day.Nice selection and portions.

And the food: Fresh, I mean you can smell the spices right at the door. Highly recommend the Sambusa and the veggie platter. Would definitely recommend it.

shaka tafari: As a person from Los Angeles, I feel like it’s hard to find restaurants that make me feel at home, but at Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant I’m treated like family. Saba, the owner, is always welcoming and personable. Whether you dine in and enjoy the cultural atmosphere, or if you order takeout, the food quality is amazing! I encourage Angelelos, visitors, and travelers to spend their evenings at Queen of Sheba enjoying great food, friendly smiles, and beautiful Ethiopian traditions.

Ann S: They ran out of jerk chicken and it was around 5 or 6. Ordered oxtail and it came with rice and peas, steamed vegetables, and fried plantains. The oxtail was flavorful and tender. The rice was decent. The Steamed veggies was different but tasty. I'll rate it all together as 4.5/5.Tried their chicken and beef patty. The beef patty is spicy, which I didn't expect. The chicken patty was cooked a bit longer and more flaky. Both were very tasty. The cashier was humorous and super nice. The food came out pretty quick since it's already cooked ahead of time.I'll definitely like to try their other dishes.

The customer service was great and the cooks were so nice and welcoming. THE FOOD WAS EVERYTHING I EXPECTED AND MORE!!! I LOVED EVERYTHING I ORDERED! Everything was hot and fresh. Took about an hour to get my food but it was worth every minute! I highly recommend this place and will definitely return. It's so good I'm willing to drive from Arvin, ca to Santa Monica just for this.... Veronica, I think I'm in love 💕 😂Wheelchair accessibility: I'm in a wheelchair and was able to get in and out of there just fine.

Margaret Mushonga: I ordered the jollof rice with chicken stew. Had to wait 40 mins. It was worth it. I am glad Auntie Veronica is back in town 😁.Parking: Parking lot is small. Gets full quickly on peak days.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a wheel chair ramp.

Gabe Eye: u will only get good service if ur catering or possibly doing to go. Dine in is horrible because they do not know how to prioritize orders. Instead of letting u know they are busy focusing on catering they will allow u to sit for hours. However I do not blame the staff. I blame management and owners for creating a business model based on greed rather than a providing a good restaurant experience. If u rather ppl don’t dine in at certain times just say that so that ur not wasting time.
