In2Deep Diving: what do users think?

Brody Hill: Coming from Australia, I chose In 2 Deep Dive Store for my PADI Open Water certification, and I couldn't be happier. From their helpful pre-arrival emails to the warm welcome from Carrie, Alex, and the team, I felt completely comfortable and supported. Their expertise and encouragement made the learning process smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend In 2 Deep Dive Store to anyone looking to dive in LA—they truly excel in making diving accessible and enjoyable for all levels.

Angela White: If I could give this dive shop 10 stars I would! My husband and I recently traveled to California for vacation, and we wanted to take a dry suit diver course while there. In2Deep customized an itinerary that dovetailed perfectly with our schedule, and Nick and Abbie were fantastic instructors. In2Deep truly gave us a customized experience, even portaging our gear out to Catalina Island and back for us. Another huge plus is that they rent dry suits, while many other shops in the area do not. This is a family owned business that truly cares about their customers, and it shows!

Geoff Walsh: Great local dive shop, much much better than any of the other dive shops within a 25 mile drive. Super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. High quality dive gear, reasonably priced. Excellent quality instruction. Very social as well, with free monthly dive club meetings. Highly recommended for all your diving needs[Updated at the beginning of 2021] I googled In2Deep Diving to get their new address and directions to their new expanded store, and started reading some of the recent reviews. There seem to be a number of different reviews, all recent by people with exactly three reviews, that are less than 5 stars and reference people who don't work at In2Deep, or in one case, a pool location In2Deep doesn't use for confined water training. All I can guess is that some of the other dive shops in the area are trying to lower In2Deep's rating with less than 5 star reviews, because In2Deep is such a great dive shop and everyone is going here instead of other dive shops. I suggest anyone reading the less than 5 star reviews look at web sites for other dive shops in the area, see who their staff names are, and figure out for themselves where everyone is leaving to go to In2Deep![Updated in early 2022] The shop is doing great with lots of classes and local dive boat trips[Updated August 2023] In2Deep is now one of the leading dive shops in terms of number of divers certified this year!

Cali Cam: I visited In2Deep yesterday to order a prescription dive mask. It's been several years since I've been diving, so I went in knowing brand names I wanted to look for, but nothing about "current" gear. Fortunately, dive masks haven't changed all that much!Tara helped out by showing me several masks and being patient while testing them all for a good seal. She spent the time to make me comfortable with the process. After trying on several masks, I actually selected the first one Tara showed me. What a pleasant surprise to see it was not among the more expensive options.Shopping at In2Deep was a very fun experience, as a dive store should be. Thanks Tara ... well done! I'll be back!

Luc Marceau: We recently had several of our scouts participate in scuba certification at Emerald Bay Scout Camp. In2Deep, and their instructor Jake, did a fantastic job with training. They had fun, but there was a great deal of attention focused upon education and safety. We greatly appreciate the dedication of Jake and the rest of the In2Deep diving staff. THANK YOU!

Kay Zee: My perspective is that I like to shop local when I can. Being a musician, former skier and enthusiast bike rider, I have a lot experience going into these specialty shops. Have worked in a plant nursery, high end hi-fi sale and 4 years as a custom ski boot fitter, I have done my time on the other side of the counter as well.I left another shop in frustration when they couldn't or wouldn't help a clueless newbie wade through the overwhelming choices in dive gear. I found in2deep even though it was quite a bit further and let me tell you dear reader, given my experience outlined in the paragraph above, THIS is how it should be done. Helpful and attentive without being pesky. Clearly knew the gear well and without patronization led some cluless but not naive newbies easily to purchases they were comfortable with and a feeling of "THIS is our dive shop."

James Peters: My wife and I are from out of town and wanted to check out the local dive shops. Staff were amazing, knowledgeable, and made us feel very welcome. We even got a tour of the entire shop. If your looking for a place to rent gear, take classes, or book a dive this would be the place to go. Thank your for a great experience !! Jim and Kim PetersPs. Horrible experience at another local dive which can be seen in my reviews.

m ty: What a great team! Helped me solve my unusual situation within my timeframe and parameters. High quality instructors helped get my Open Water Certification completed at beautiful dives in Catalina and Malibu.

Kenneth Skipper-Dotta: were great instructors. Everyone at the shop was wonderful. Would highly recommend.

Marius Weitzel: . Soteris did really go the extra mile all the time in being very focused to give me as a customer a great experience. We did not only have nice dives together, but also had a lot of great conversations. I can only recommend this school

nicholas miller: I work in public safety and was required to get my rescue diver certification and dry suit certification on short notice. I called around to MANY dive shops asking to get my certifications ASAP even pointing out that I understand if they have to charge me more for private classes. Every dive shop I called would not accommodate my time frame. In2Deep bent over backwards to help me. Amazing customer service. Can’t thanks them enough. The vibe in the shop is more of a family then a business, which is great. Highly recommend.

Nathan Hall: Amazing diving and a enjoyable experience!

zen dive co.: what do users think?

Annie Smith: Awesome shop! One of the owners Kian spent a really long time patiently walking me through the various elements, price points and trade offs of the gear I’m evaluating for a future purchase. Their selection is intentionally small because each item available has been vetted & curated to meet diver needs for performance & durability. It’s clear there is so much knowledge & passion here. The shop setting is very conducive to conversation, with comfortable couch seating and even a selection of handcrafted coffees. Plus, they are super dog friendly. Hope to come back & dive with the shop soon! And will certainly return once I’m ready to buy a BCD/reg.

Anne Georgulas: The people there were helpful and friendly. I had a problem with my fin. They fixed it and I could go on my scheduled dive . Nice people, fair and friendly!

Osamah Bin Mahfouz: Best dive shop I have been to ever. I am an avid diver I also travel a lot to dive, this by far is the nicest and cleanest dive shop I have ever been too. Not just locally but abroad as well. Their whole staff is very knowledgeable. I had my regs serviced by Kian, not only did he show me everything that was replaced, he took the time to explain every part and it's functionality to me which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Zen dive co!

mark howard: like I’ve been coming there for years so from day one I have felt at home. I highly recommend this shop.

Joe Parrish: Really amazing store and instructional/dive operation. This is what all dive shops should aspire to -- knowledgable and friendly staff, good environment, high-quality equipment for sale and rental, great service capabilities. Our interactions have been largely with Kian, who did a great job on our Nitrox course, but it's obvious that there is a great spirit amongst all of the zen dive staff and customers. We'll be back for more training and equipment purchase/service. We're very lucky to live nearby, but I would happily drive across the LA Metro area for this quality of dive shop!

Chuck Jones: Spent the first two weekends of December ‘23 getting my PADI Open Water x Enriched Air Diver certification through Zen Dive Co. Chris Alexander was my instructor for the course, and was a fantastic teacher. The two weekends were masterfully designed to make sure students leave with the confidence and skills to continue on a safe, informed and lifelong passion for being under water.Along with Chris, everyone I have interacted with at Zen is passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all things Scuba. This place is a gem - Altadena is lucky to have it!

Chelsea Verdin: Minimalistic and Modern dive shop catering to both recreational and technical divers. They offer repairs, sales, gas fills on anything you could think of, rentals, PADI and GUE classes and the best coffee.

Uhuru Dawson: Excellent dive shop and very knowledgeable personnel. They are able to provide all of your service needs.

Clint Campbell: Went in to find out about scuba classes, and i had a coffee with them while i signed up. Was easy and exciting. Can’t wait to shop for some gear with them!

Betty Lourie: I recently purchased a Christmas gift for my husband from zen dive and was extremely satisfied with my experience. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful - they advised on exactly the right thing! The shop itself has a great vibe - it is uncluttered and welcoming. They stay current with the latest gear, technology and information. It’s more than just a shop tbh - zen dive is a place where divers come together to share knowledge and learn together. Highly recommend!

N Gun: As someone who owned and operated a dive business for five years in Sri Lanka and earned four Tripadvisor Certificates of Excellence in the process, I know what makes a good dive operation. I’ve also dived all over the world and I have seen the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. Needless to say, Zen Dive is one of the rare good ones. They have an impressive roster of instructors going up to the highest levels of tec diving. I completed a PADI drysuit diver certification with them inclusive of three dives in Catalina. Communication was good and detailed, the gear I rented was in good condition and clean. I appreciated the opportunity to complete my course with a backplate and wing instead of the traditional BCD. The service from the instructors was great and patient, with Kian handling the pool sessions and Alex, the ocean sessions. Alex especially was awesome, 100% positive attitude as an instructor. I greatly appreciated that, when he found out I would have a long drive to Pasadena and then home to rinse gear at the shop, he offered to rinse the gear himself to save me the time. Exceptional service! I will return to Zen for more diving and courses and I recommend you do too.

Laura E Forsyth: Curated selection of high quality gear, deep knowledge and great friendliness. Welcoming to experts, recreational divers and newbies alike. The attached shop is the go-to place for getting your reg serviced.

Matthew Hansen: Great staff and nice shop! We came in with a big group of divers from Alaska and they took great care of us while we were diving in SoCal for a week. The staff are fun and became instant friends. My airline luggage with all my dive gear was delayed for the entire week due to flight cancellation problems when I arrived. Zen got me setup with rental of every single piece of dive gear I needed for a doubles GUE Tech 1 configuration. Thanks guys!

Emily Alonso: The professionalism, expertise, kindness and honesty is unparalleled at zen. Not to mention the delicious oat milk lattes and beautiful space. Walking into zen does just what its name would suggest!

Lorraine Flannery: A fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly dive shop! The team there answered all our questions, had rentals for us to try before we buy and talked us through many different options. Finally a dive shop that has skilled divers who love their hobby and a professionally run beautiful dive shop! Not to mention they have the best oat milk lattes - sorry Starbucks your beans do not compare!!! Shop, buy and train here with confidence!! We dive 100+ dives a year and decided to add drysuits super glad we found Zen Dive Co in Pasadena!!!

Saccariferous Chlorophyll: Fantastic staff! Awesome place! Total Gem of a Dive Shop! came to zen to pick up our rental gear for some dives off the Spectre. I was going snorkeling while my friends went scuba diving. Despite trying on a wetsuit for the first time in my life and the staff was so helpful and understanding, even when I felt overwhelmed. They helped us get everything we needed in order for our trip And when we had problems with another dive shop they helped us with that too!
