The restaurant was founded in 1953 by two individuals, Les Highet and Erma Hueneke, who drew upon their extensive experience in the culinary field and their knowledge of authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes to create a unique and original menu.
The restaurant takes great pride in maintaining high standards, using only the finest ingredients, such as 93 score butter, pure 36% whipping cream, fresh grade AA eggs, hard wheat unbleached flour, and a special recipe sourdough starter, to create delicious and high-quality dishes.
The restaurant is famous for its Apple Pancake, a single large pancake smothered with sautéed apples and cinnamon sugar, baked to perfection to create a deliciously rich cinnamon sugar glaze. Another signature item is the Dutch Baby, an air-filled delight oven-baked to golden perfection and served with lemon and whipped butter.
The restaurant offers a variety of unique omelets, including a mushroom omelet topped with homemade rich mushroom sherry sauce, rolled in a skillet and then oven-baked to give you a splendidly light, moist delicacy. The menu also features gourmet crepes, such as the cherry kijafa crepe, a blend of tart cherries and sweet Danish cherry wine, and the continental crepe, rolled with sour cream tempered with orange liqueur and served with a famous tropical syrup.
The restaurant aims to provide a pleasant and courteous service, serving the finest pancakes available in a casual setting, perfect for a relaxing breakfast or brunch with family and friends. The restaurant also offers a specially blended, roasted, and ground signature coffee to complement your meal.
